Yup. Should've taken a timeout with a second left and tried a Hal Mary. My guess is he was too heated about the intentional grounding penalty to think straight. Inexcusable.

I'm sure he has a guy in his ear that told him it was obvious so we wouldn't lose the timeout. That guy might be fired now.

True. I just think Miami beats all the teams they're supposed to and wins the division that way. We have two losses with teams likely to finish below .500.

There's always been a slight advantage to deferring as teams that do win 51 to 52% of the time depending on what longitudinal study you look at. It's why you see most teams defer to get the double dip opportunity which can swing momentum. I think of the Bills/Colts WC game a few years back as the perfect example.

The line's really don't move that much unless there's a major unforeseen injury (usually QB). Vegas has it down to a science when setting the lines. It's basically back where it started at Bengals -1.5 points.

My whole life of watching football because there's a possibility of a flag on every play. At least watching the game at the stadium you can see the ref throw it if the flag occurs during the play. This is basically just a whining about too many flags being thrown thread.

It definitely takes competition out of the equation but I wouldn’t minimize the value of having a second round pick on a rookie deal. I think rolling the dice waiting until the offseason to try and be the team that slightly overpays is a smarter move. Heck. You might even to be able to find a better DEvfree agent for similar money.

He is and paying a little extra to get him with an qb that will be on a rookie contract is understandable. You see it all the time with non desirable destinations. However, giving up a high second round pick for him when you could’ve waited until free agency is why it’s a poor move.
