McDermott's Two Minute Defense This Year vs Past Seasons
Doc Brown replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree and it could be a mixture of both. McDermott said he wants to take over play calling but wanted Frazier to remain on staff as a mentor to the player and advisor. Frazier didn't want to give up the play calling so he resigned. I don't even think there's any personal grudge between the two. Just seems like the simplest explanation to me. -

No. Menendez has gotten away with far worse. -

Yes. I want exactly 7.5 points per quarter. -

Good. Now the Senate should do the same to Menendez. -

What happened to the offense in both of those games after going up early? It's why we hear about complimentary football ad nauseam. -

True. She called the police so her comments don't exactly align. Who knows what happened between now and when she made those comments. -

Sources say ZERO PERCENT chance McD is fired
Doc Brown replied to Brand J's topic in The Stadium Wall
Money talks which is why the contract extensions before the season told me McD was never in jeopardy of losing his job. Especially for an owner who holds the Steelers model in such high regard. I just hope we can keep Brady on as OC and nobody snags him as a Head Coach. -

Hopefully they come out sooner than him getting pressure on the QB this season. -

Random talking head says something about the Bills
Doc Brown replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Out of curiosity, do they have charts like this for previous seasons? I remember this defense being pretty good at closing out games early in McD's tenure. I'm just wondering if it's a talent thing with all the injuries McD fails to consider. -

He also has the most total touchdowns at 75. The next closest is Mahomes at 66. That's a 2.2TD to turnover ratio. I think the reward outweighs the risk because that's incredible production. 2018 Raiders off the top of my head where there QB wasn't injured. Just horrible coaching. -

Kneel Down Game: Final Nail in McD’s Coach Coffin
Doc Brown replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall
The contract extension is why I think it's close to zero. However, at the end of the season if I'm Pegula I'm talking to the core players/leaders on the team (Allen, Diggs, Milano, Dawkins, Oliver) and see what they think of McDermott. If he gets the impression McD's message has gone stale then it's time to cut bait. If they're still willing to go to war for him then give it another season. The easiest transition would be to promote Joe Brady to head coach, keep Beane as GM, and promote a DC from within. They're 6-6. Unless they buy Super Bowl tickets they're not on the verge of going there. -
Happy Birthday Stef. Wouldn’t have had all the success without you. Was very concerned this would turn into a the age of the start of the WR decline thread. Glad I was wrong.

We won as double digit underdogs @Atlanta in 2017 and @Minnesota in 2018.

We're Going To The Playoffs. (edit: Updated - Super Bowl)
Doc Brown replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall
Your argument against us not bouncing back from the most demoralizing regular season losses in the McDermott era is pointing out that we didn't bounce back from playoff losses? In the regular season you play the next week (or the following one if on the bye). Not the case in the postseason. How do you define "bouncing back" from playoff losses? -
Every thread will eventually turn to this. It's this message boards Godwin's Law until he's canned or wins a Super Bowl.

Not with that attitude. The Bills have had many demoralizing regular season losses under McDermott (Hail Murray, Wind Game, Sun Game, Minnesota home game last year, Tampa game in OT, Titans MNF slip, etc.). They came back EVERY time. -

Tall task but it's not like the Bills are foreign to winning streaks in the regular season under McDermott. I wouldn't have made this thread if I hadn't seen them do it before.
