  1. As long as he shows up and doesn't take it for granted.
  2. Smart teams would still just cycle through RB's on a three year cost controlled rookie deal and not re-sign them. Getting rid of the rookie wage minimum scale for RB's or reducing eligibility requirements to enter the NFL draft would help somewhat. However, then players at other positions would complain. I don't see an easy fix.
  3. To be fair we're only four years away from Zeke getting a 6 year 90 million dollar contract with 50 million guaranteed. The running backs complaining now didn't know how quickly the position would become devalued growing up.
  4. After getting spanked by the Patriots at home in 2006 we went to Outback Steakhouse by the McKinley Mall after the game. We were seated at a table next to Melvin Fowler and his girlfriend/wife(?). They finished the entire bloomin' onion appetizer with him doing most of the heavy lifting and he then pounded down an 18 ounce Ribeye.
  5. There's an argument to be made about D-line but not RB's or WR's. Beane gave Diggs a 24 million dollar a year contract which is 5th in annual average value. He gave John Brown and Cole Beasley the biggest contracts of their careers by far. All three were key in helping Allen develop and leading to four straight double digit win seasons. The biggest contract Beane gave a free agent RB I believe was Chris Ivory in 2018 (2 years at 2.75m per year with 2.5 million guaranteed). Drafting RB's in the middle rounds on a cost controlled rookie deal is smart roster building. The problem is the execution as Singletary was serviceable while Moss was a disappointment.
  6. Eric Moulds too but it doesn’t mean jack squat unless you’re superstitious.
  7. Probably but it will premier on the History channel.
  8. Unless it was all guaranteed I don't see him jumping at that offer.
  9. There were some hints of criticism of Edmunds by Beane before the final year of his rookie deal. Specifically when it came to being slower to react to plays at times. I didn't hear any of that with Gabe. Regardless, I think they offer him maybe 3 years 33 million or something like that. If he doesn't take it then they'll just let the season play out.
  10. There's so much we don't know. It was reported that the Bills and Chiefs were trying to acquire D-Hop via trade before the draft before OBJ signed his deal basically blowing up any chance of getting a deal done with either team. Did Beane shut the door after the draft given we signed Kincaid and he realized there might just be too many mouths to feed? How good of a sales pitch did the Titans give him? Was it all about the money? Did Hopkins not want to be considered a #2 passing option behind either Diggs or Kelce? Did the whole Diggs situation at mini camp have any impact on signing Hopkins? Did reports surfacing of Hopkins not practicing during game weeks make Beane more gun shy? There's a lot of other possibe scenarios that led him to signing with the Titans and not the Chiefs, Bills, Pats, etc... As far as Davis goes, the quote that sticks out in my mind by Beane is "I know no one - no one - who's going to outwork Gabe Davis." They talk glowingly about other players who they've let walked but it just feels different with him. Beane likes to get ahead of the curve when it comes to signing young players he drafted who he thinks has a lot more room to grow (see Ed Oliver and Dawson Knox). Even Taron Johnson to a lesser extent. My gut is they see Davis in a similar way and his inconsistent play last year was due to his high ankle sprain and not finding a viable slot option to force the defense to give Davis favorable one one one matchups down the field where he makes his bread and butter. I do think they sign him to an extension this off-season unless Gabe isn't willing or asks for too much.
  11. To be fair to that poster in one of his press conferences this off-season, Beane said he didn't want to do a tear down in a couple years and that's what would happen if they weren't responsible as these "win now" signings would pile up. I think the Von signing was something that he did that was out of his comfort zone and it backfiring with the ACL injury made it less likely he'd take a similar risk. It's pretty clear now he wasn't signing Hopkins unless he got him at a discount.
  12. There was a lot more buy in from fans with Miller because we didn't have an elite DE on our roster, we just lost to the Chiefs in the playoffs because Patrick Mahomes had time to read the Old Testament before the pass rush got there, we witnessed the Rams at the top adding Beckham and Von before seeing their collapse, and it was Beane's real first "all in" type move. I'm not sure if fans had much of an appetite for another one especially after Von's ACL tear. I think if we moved money around and signed Hopkins to this exact contract the reaction would be more mixed.
  13. Players that have been elite at a sport their whole life can convince themselves that they can elevate an average team to a Super Bowl and actually believe it. Plus, it's not automatic wins for the AFC North teams or the Dolphins this year.
  14. Which position did he trade a first and a fourth for again?
  15. Just heard the news. My first reaction is disappointment as Beane could’ve moved enough money around to make this work. Happy it’s Tennessee though if it’s not here.
  16. Those aren't offensive weapon rankings and rightfully weigh the QB heavily. The Chiefs and Bills are #1 and #2 overall because that's where they finished last year and it's hard to argue either got worse in terms of overall personnel. Any "offensive weapon" rankings I've read have both of us around 10th with one elite weapon (Kelce and Diggs) with average depth behind them.
  17. He's also has a higher favorability rating to Republican voters than Democratic voters if you believe those same polls so an Independent run could be interesting.
  18. That’s great because when we re-sign him to a massive deal we won’t have to give him top WR money. Beane the wizard strikes again.
  19. Money talks. They don't give Knox a 4 years 52 million dollar deal (31.2 million guaranteed) if they were down on him. They wanted a true slot guy to replace Beasley and Kinkaid was the best solution they could come up with.
  20. Can our offense just switch to them in the red zone?
  21. Watched two and 1/2 episodes and here are my impressions so far as it's a well done show. -Mahomes and Allen seem to have the exact same personalities on the field. They can get overly emotional during a game and that can be a good or bad thing depending on the circumstance. -Kirk Cousins is the most interesting of the three. If Mr. Rodgers was born in '88 and played QB he'd be Kirk Cousins. Tough as hell though, a hard worker, and an easy guy to root for considering he was a 4th round pick in the same draft the Redskins took RG3. YOU LIKE THAT -Marcus Mariota is a pretty reserved kid who comes across as boring.
  22. He'd pry suggest to rehire Leslie Frazier to run our offense.
  23. At least you answered your own question. His short term accuracy was pretty bad post elbow injury so it made more sense to go for the big play considering the high variance that play could produce.
  24. There weren't as many wtf calls/sequences with Dorsey compared to Daboll. Daboll's in game adjustments were better though and they played some of their strongest ball in the playoffs.
  25. Number two ranked offense (both points and yards) that didn't see a dip in production post Daboll. That's despite losing Beasley and Sanders along with Josh's elbow injury. Not that surprising.
