Why does this team always seem like it's running on fumes?
Doc Brown replied to T.E.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
It felt like this in the late 80's/early 90's. The price of being a great team that can't seem to get over the hump. -
Week 18 - Bills v. Fish - PREDICT THE SCORE
Doc Brown replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good news: Bills finally don't lose in OT and clinch a playoff seed. Bad news: Dolphins clinch division and two seed with tie. Bills - 24 Fish - 24 -
I think Tua, Lamar, and Mahomes gets in ahead of Josh because of the bs turnover narrative.

Will/Should Von be active vs. the Fish?
Doc Brown replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
I give McDermott credit for making him a healthy scratch against the Pats. Not an easy decision given his stature and contract. I don't expect him to dress against the Fins unless there's an injury. The injury just stinks as he looked amazing before the injury. We pry don't beat the Ravens or Chiefs without him. -
Bills-Dolphins Week 18 for the Division! SUNDAY NIGHT GAME
Doc Brown replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
It would be interesting if the Jags and Steelers win and this game goes to Overtime. A loss eliminates us, a tie gets us a Wild Card spot, and a win gives us the division. It's 4th and 6 at the Dolphins 42 with 20 seconds left in overtime tied at 27. Both teams have two timeouts left. If you're McDermott, do you go for it, try the long FG, or punt for the tie to make sure you get in the playoffs? -
Gonna need a quote on that. That's like a plumber admitting that drains aren't his strong suit.

Can Khalil Shakir be WR2 next season?
Doc Brown replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
No. He's fine in the role he's in now but asking him to be our primary X-WR is a disaster waiting to happen. -
No. They're a little too out there for my taste and there all like minded anyways. It's my opinion that progressives are well meaning but naive when it comes to domestic and foreign policy in general. I appreciate your take on Ukraine and Palestine. As far as Palestine/Israel goes, I think as long as Hamas is in power you just can't negotiate with them as they don't want a one or two-state solution.

I know he didn't call plays but the offense (and Wentz) regressed when he left. I don't know the true dynamic of how him being their impacted their relationship. Jumping from offensive coordinator to head coach allows you to put less of an emphasis on the personal relationship with the quarterback as far as Reich's time in Indy went. I think with his experience and calming influence he'd be a good candidate for a QB coach with a QB wired like Josh.
-
Somehow coordinated an offense that made Wentz an MVP candidate and won a Super Bowl with Nick Foles. Those two things alone are a miracle.
-
Any chance (if there was any) of a McD firing at season's end was squashed with another double digit win season despite the injuries on defense. Doesn't matter what happens the rest of the way this year. His decision on what to do with the offense going into next year will pry decide his eventual fate. He'd be a great QB coach for Josh if he's desperate for work.

Defensive coordinators have more tape on Brady now so we'll see what counter adjustments he makes against the Fins. The passing game needs to be better. If our offense lays another egg than we should absolutely be looking to upgrade. Yesterday wasn't great but Allen played awful, the WR's were awful besides Shakir, and we had two key drops by our RB's. There were two big plays missed (wheel route to Cook and the bomb to Diggs) that if Josh throws it better we might be having a different conversation right now. Having said that, he needs to be more creative with his play calling. Stop slamming your head against the wall with those WR screens.

Can we bring the Beasley/Mckenzie role back already?
Doc Brown replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall
After watching Harty and Sherfield this season lets just bring them both back for real. Slight sarcasm but is it? I'm more interested in upgrading the outside WR's as Shakir and Kincaid should be able to fill that slot role. That includes drafting one in the first round to compete for the #2 slot and eventually taking over for the perplexing Diggs. It also means finding a more reliable #2 option next year than Gabe Davis for a similar price Kendrick Bourne or Curtis Samuel come to mind but I really haven't looked to far into other possibilities. -
Week 17, Cheats v. Bills - GAME BALLS
Doc Brown replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sam Martin was terrific the last two weeks for all the slack he's taken this year. -
We don't get blown out and we've been below our normal standard on the road this year so this is the most likely outcome. To me the game comes down to our passing game somehow rediscovering itself again. Joe Brady's job might be on the line for next year.

The not so farfetched way the Bills miss the playoffs
Doc Brown replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah. They rested their starters in 2019 and came out flat in the Divisional game. Let's hope they change their approach. -
Ford over Joseph is a minor surprise.

I think Campbell was so heated from the penalty he wasn't thinking straight. That's all I got.

Last time the bills played on my birthday!
Doc Brown replied to BruceVilanch's topic in The Stadium Wall
Happy Birthday. I was one of the few who wanted them to tank that year to get Baker or Danold in the draft. I even remember saying to a small group of friends and family at dinner after the game at that Italian place in Lackawanna (forget the name). "That's a lot of emotion just to be one of the worst statistical teams ever to make the playoffs." My wife said my New Year's resolution should be not to be such a buzzkill. -
You're correct but in a way so am I because if all four lose and we win we're in.
-
They're 33 yards and I believe the five yard penalty would've made it a 38 yard extra point.
-
Dallas doesn't know if they'll get the ball in OT either so I don't get that logic. Maybe he didn't trust Badgley to make a 38 yard extra point.
-
True for the most part although there is some overlap. However, I never said they weren't.

Two ways this weekend. -Beat the Pats. Two of the following three lose (Steelers, Bengals, Jags). -Beat the Pats. All four lose (Texans, Colts, Steelers, Bengals).
