  1. I am sorry 716, I was thinking the same thing. I mean, that is his job, right?
  2. This is the same concept employed by Marv Levy and his staff when we were winning the championships. Conservative, vanilla, work on developing players, not necessarily win games. We won very few preseason games during that era, and it mean nothing. Some coaches want to win those games, some want to develop their team and look deeper into what they have. The penalties is more and issue than anything. If we can get that straightened up, I think we will be fine.JMO
  3. Exactly! I can't imagine why some think otherwise??? These were solid moves and it is exactly what they said was going to be their philosophy for building the team. Short term and long term moves. This is exactly that, end of story. Whether or not they work out remains to be seen, but they look like value moves right now.
  4. I agree with you Turk...I see this as an obvious conclusion and I am not sure why all these fans are complaining. I loved me some Sammy, but he was probably leaving anyway. Also agree that Darby trade was a little more complex ING, but I also can see that the scheme fit versus other factors and the extra pick made this totally doable as well. Now time will tell, but I believe it was a solid set of moves to make.
  5. A lot of the sacks that were recorded against us was when Taylor ran out of bounds after scrambling before the line of scrimmage. Not sure what the percentage was, but there were quite a few. If he can just throw the ball away in that situation, our sack numbers would have been different. Numbers don't tell the whole story. Go and watch the tape!
  6. Happy Father's Day to you as well! I hope Logan does actually turn into so,etching at TE, that would be a huge plus for this team. I think we are better than mod that hunk at WR, but a veteran presence might help.
  7. I agree. Shady doesn't get enough love on here. Without Shady, this year would be a complete bust in my eyes.
  8. Agreed! Good to see caring people spreading positive energy. I would love to see even more of that in here.
  9. I really have to agree. I am on edge of the majority that thinks Tyrod is a good enough quarterback to get us to the playoffs. I think he is better than Vick when he was ripping it up, and I can remember that we all wanted Vick on our team back in the day. We just need a couple weapons for him to throw to and a solid defense that can hold teams under 20 points on average. I can't see why this team with better coaching and a more solid D can't get it done...
  10. Nice topic here, but the most intriguing part is the center position. I was also under the impression from how Groy filled in for Wood that Wood could possibly go on the trade block or even possibly get cut. The new coaching regime has no ties to him and I think Groy could push him out in camp. Any ideas on a trade partner? Not really sure who in the league is weak at center and could have depth at a position of weakness for us like LB, TE, or S maybe.
  11. Yes! This is exactly my thinking and why I started the discussion. I do think he could be an excellent slot corner as well. Between his size, reactionary skills, and ability to breakdown in run support, I think he really fits into that role. Not saying he can't play outside at all. My question to the group was just that, a question...what if? Is it possible we could see Seymour and White on he outside this season. I think it is definitely possible. You made some valid points and at least this entire post seems to have brought the best out of what these boards are supposed to be about.thanks! Thank you. That is what I was going for. I nice healthy discussion about a scenario we might see. All of it is just opinion, and that is ok. I think it is definitely something we should keep an eye on through camp.
  12. Thank you! That is what I was going for here. Just a football discussion about what the rest of you out there think about this subject. I think Darby is a great corner, but I am not sure he has the length, reactionary skills, run support, etc. to be a great zone coverage type corner. At least most people here can see the same issues. I am not even really worrying about it either, just starting a legitimate discussion. Agreed. That was my point. The skills to play zone are much different than playing man and press. I do think Darby is up to it, just not sure how quickly and to what level...
  13. Ok, I know I will get roasted here, but Darby really was drafted as a man cover corner. Not really sure he fits the cover 3 zone prototype at all. With Seymour and White seemingly better fits, is there any possibility in your opinion that Darby, if not fitting through camp, could get traded, be a backup, or move inside?
  14. And probably got another zero on the end of his paycheck. Pegulas pulling out the stops...love it!
  15. All these hires seem to be targeting younger, hungry, yet with plenty of experience. We might be seeing the makings of something we can be proud of long term here folks. This whole new team has a completely different vibe from what was here in the past. I am not quite sure why the Pegulas didn't do this from the get go, but better late than never,...and TBH I thought never was straying to look like a real possibility. Fingers crossed!
  16. If people are on this board you must assume they are fans. Where those people are in their own journey in life and the perspective they have on any of the topics is always going to be different. It is basic psychological society construct. The reality is what it is and only that, and the rest is just conjecture and opinion. It would just be nice if we all understood that and acted accordingly. That, of course, will never happen. In the meantime, here we are. I love the Bills no matter what. I moved over 4000 miles away to the center of Europe and I still find a way to be a fan of the team I grew up watching and loving. Through all the good, bad and indifferent, I made my choice and I am sticking with it. Go Bills!
  17. You would think most people would realize that and stop reading too much into it. Risk management guys,...this was the right move to make. They also drafted a receiver good enough that if they are not really sure about Sammy, they could move on if necessary. I hope he has a good year and somehow we can figure out how to keep him, but I will understand if they let him go. The real question is, what if Sammy stays healthy all year, but Zay looks much better than Sammy throughout the season. So you go into an odd season, Sammy totally healthy for the first time, but he almost looks like the number two compared to Zay. He is going to want number one money!! What then?
  18. Interesting notes about Gilmore and Luke...and although Luke has been awesome up to now, how will his concussion issues a effect his career? He could be done if he takes another big hit. Anyway, thanks for the info. It is always nice to hear something from someone closer to the action.
  19. Yes, but what round? I am not even convinced they will take one at all.
  20. I have to respectfully disagree man...in the first round of the draft, you need to get a guy who is guaranteed to make plays. Guys like OJ are those type of "mismatch" players that have value. I do think that they still might be better off trading down here as i have stated in other posts, but OJ is worthy of the tenth pick IMO if they want an offensive weapon for Tyrod. Just my opinion though:)
  21. Garrett-not really a dispute Thomas- pash rushers like him are still very unique Hooker-off the charts ball skills Adams- super leader and nose for the ball Allen- beast inside Latimore- might be one of the best in since Peterson Barnett- under rated value and potential big playmaker on the slime Peppers- one of my favorite players to watch in this top ten Williams- If he can stay healthy, he could be what Sammy was supposed to be. Foster- slips down after some of the trouble he has had recently.
  22. Trade value not that good. Might as well play him and see what happens. I don't think they will pick up his option either. Draft someone, play Sammy, and hope it pans out...the Buffalo way!
  23. Amazing how many fans go into panic mode almost automatically whenever anything happens with this team nowadays. Losing TD Mike is not great, but I don't think he is worth that type of money either. Who knows, maybe we will get Blount on the cheap, or maybe we will find a diamond in the rough later I the draft. I have heard this draft is deep in quality backs. Lighten up people. All this negativity is not good surrounding our team. Have some faith for once. Did you ever think that maybe a part of the reason this team is where it is, might be due Tom the fact that it's fans are completely unstable and are constantly planting seeds of doubt, fear, and anger towards the team they are supposedly supporting?? This phenomenon in the physics world is actually quantifiable people. Nothing positive comes from anything negative. As Sheldon says..."let's do the math". It is real! Please stop being so negative. You are all hurting this teams chances of success by having the attitude I see here everyday. So many fans with so much negativity, and you think that all of that negative energy doesn't effect the team,...wrong! It does. I for one am going to be as positive as I can! You should all try the same. A lot of positivity can change the atmosphere around this team and the energy as well. Ok, I am done now:) Let's go Bills!
  24. I agree totally. A guy like Hassan Reddick would be perfect if we could just trade down a couple of spots. We could still get him there and pick up and extra second or third rounder. There are a few options in the second round as well, but none IMO that could be a guaranteed starter like Reddick right away. Peppers might also be there at 10 if there are any QB surprises before us. He could also translate into a good WLB if he could add 10 lbs to his frame. We will find out soon!
