I'm not putting this on the fires but they're playing like we did in the snow against Cincy. -
Chargers at Houston playoff game thread

.....all Dissly's fault. -
I always thought a massive earthquake would be the thing to get us. But this is beyond any fire destruction I could ever have envisioned in the LA Basin.

Absolutely devastating and heartbreaking. This will go down as the costliest disaster in modern US history at nearly 200 billion. And more homes are burning today in Mandeville Canyon.

My son works for Morgan Stanley in Pasadena. He knows 10 families in either Altadena or Palisades that have lost homes. And my brother in law will be in Altadena all this week shutting off gas lines. Yup, right down Angeles Crest. At least the wind layed down to get more air support up.

Yup, that's what I saw. You just had a closer vantage point. We both experienced a similar scary journey. I always thought if our house was in jeopardy it would come down the hill from Briggs terrace. Couldn't believe how long the ice held up. I'm definitely investing in a generator and better phone banks. Good Luck @Jon in Pasadena and let's hope Monday's wind is nothing like last week. Stay safe....

When my son woke me at 3am Wed. morning, we looked east and could see the dreaded orange glow and flames near JPL. My youngest son's in laws almost lost their house along upper Canyonside, but thank God they were spared. Most of the homes in that development were lost. We're off of Briggs so there's Pickens Canyon right there. We were w/o power for 4 days and evacuated. Our power came back last night. Is there power in La Canada yet?

Dry cold Santa Ana's, yes. Not one drop of rain in a year, no. We're on pace to have the smallest rainfall total in 150 years. Our typical wildfire season is May-October. 90% of the rain we're supposed to get is in Jan/Feb.

The New McDermott - Great Buscaglia Article
LABILLBACKER replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall
I personally picked 9 wins. Losing all those veterans and leadership had to have an effect. And we weren't sure what receivers or DL improvements would rise up in 24. Josh and this team found a way to block out all the noise and it reflected in 13+ wins. Sean must get some credit for this and his adjustment in personality has reflected in how more "chill" this team seems to be. And yes we still have wall to hurdle. -

He has changed. Watching him do snow angels with Josh was pretty cool. He doesn't seem to be wound so tight. I may always have my doubts about his game day abilities, but you can never question his character or passion for bringing a championship to Buffalo.- 85 replies

Looks like Brady won't return as a FOX analyst for 2025
LABILLBACKER replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd take Brady's insight anyday over Troy "hound-dog" Aikman's rambling on.... -
More wind coming Monday. 25-40 mph with gusts near 60. Eaton & Palisades fires still only 3-8 % contained. Day 4 without power. We'll take all the prayers we can get. Go Bills!

Couldn't agree more. I was one of the Rosen supporters. I just couldn't see a path for his college 57% to improve. What I didn't know about him because of his small program exposure was his ridiculous athleticism. He makes Jim Kelly look like a bronze statue. So grateful I was 100% wrong.

We get our usual 5-8 Santa Ana winds per year but this was so unbelievably different. It was like a 2 day "hurricane wind" version 80-100mph. Most Santa Ana's are 25-50. I still haven't seen alot of the devastating photos because power is down day 3. And my internet satellite reception is terrible. The insurance situation will be a whole separate nightmare for thousands of people to deal with.
-
Now I'm hearing from family- friends that have power that the Mt Wilson observatory and all the TV antennas are at risk.

One of if not the biggest Bills bars in California is in Santa Monica. Last year at "Busbys" I was with at least 200+ people for the KC game. People were also outside in a large open courtyard. It's was amazing until the Bass miss. Now with the fire so close and power turned off for nearly 1 million people, it may not even be open?? You'd be surprised how many thousands of Bills fans are in LA.

Over the last 2 years he's my favorite depth rotational DT. I don't know why he doesn't get more opportunities? But as a Bruin I guess I'm bias.
-
Could you imagine having Donald in 2020 and 2021 going up against KC in the playoffs? Might have brought some bling to Buffalo?
-
Yup, last night about 2 miles from where I live there was a gust registered at 99.
-
I spent 30 minutes taking pics of every room and cabinet inside our house in case our insurance company wants to screw us. Besides so many insurance companies were abandoning California customers left and right. After this disaster, no one will be able to get insured...period.
-
Never thought in a million years I'd see an evacuation order so close to the Santa Monica pier. Early estimates say the total property damage is over 60 billion and will rise well above that.
-
Thanks @WotAGuy...the closest one to us here in La Crescenta is the Eaton which has beat the crap out of Altadena. My son's future in laws lost their home this morning. Pray the winds ddon't shift to SW.

This La Nina has been worse than any previous one. LA has not seen a drop of rain since last March. The wind events used to be more predictable Santa Ana's from the NE. But this windstorm has been swirling in 4 directions. And the level of sustained winds have been historical. Our family already knows 3 family/ friends who've lost their homes.
