  1. Alot rides on can McGovern outperform Saffold? Can Torrence beat out Bates? Can Spencer not crap the bed forcing Dorsey to use Shell? On paper the new players should help but how much remains to be seen.
  2. Having a player almost die right in front of your eyes will do that.
  3. I don't care if you're dating 12 Instagram models at the same time. Just get me a damn Lombardi.
  4. There is no excuse this season for KD. He's got the expanded weapons on the OL, RB's and TE's to compliment the WR room. Whatever he learned from Daboll, we better see it this fall or he'll be the 3rd major coach to be ousted (Farwell, Frazier).
  5. Of the remaining pass rushers we got the best. Wouldn't mind seeing Clark get to "homies" a few times.
  6. Can he play RT?
  7. Yup....1. Wr....2. RT.....3. C Hopefully Mitch makes it through the season without any concussions. Eventually Dion will be down the road.
  8. So true. I would hope Beane stresses to McD the benefit of continued offensive drafting and taking FA swings on D. Kincaid and Torrence I feel will be very good picks. Next year we need to go wr & RT early. Load up on offense with 4-5 year rookie contracts.
  9. Good breakdown...it's almost like Colin is emphasizing the lack of a offensive HC as the bulk of his argument. And Beane has added promising players on the offense. We'll have to see. Like I've said several times over the last few weeks, my 2 biggest fears are Brown & Dorsey.
  10. Hey I'm all for competition at RT. That's the only real weakness I see. We're super deep on the interior. CowT did conveniently omit the IOL additions and new wrs. And Jets guy mispronouncing Shakir was adorable. Wright coming on later was typical KC ball- washing. When Kelce retires things will swing.
  11. 2 of the biggest hits JA took last year was from RT. Neither Brown or Quessenberry have the foot quickness to keep Josh from being "out for the season". Yes we upgraded the IOL. But it's the outside speed rushers who are the threat.
  12. He's not wrong. This is an offensive league. Teams with solid offensive minded HC's will have an advantage over us. I love the Floyd signing, but I hate the picks of Basham, AJE and all the mediocre linebackers over beefing up the OL. I just don't see any cap path to sign dHop to even a 1 yr deal at this point. And why is it we're always top 5 every year in defense only to watch it crumble in the playoffs?
  13. Other than not emphasizing the OL more from 2019 on, Brandon Beane has done an amazing job building a top 5 roster over these last 3-4 seasons. He has stumbled a little with guys like Basham/AJE, but over-all his picks and fa acquisitions have been solid. The problem is both injuries and player execution/ motivation. That performance against Cincy was pathetic. If anyone is first to lose their job between Beane & McD, it won't be Brandon.
  14. Agree....was praying back in March we'd sign Floyd. Still young and capable of 9-10 sacks. His speed can flush qbs well into the pocket. No excuses for Ed to not get 5+ sacks this year. We're seeing the new and hopefully improved (more aggressive) version of McD's defense.
  15. We looked pretty gased in the 1st quarter of that Cincy game. I understand the rationale of platooning for rest sake. But I cringe at the thought of mediocre players like Boogie, Phillips and AJ filling in the remaining 35-40%. Now that we've upgraded our 2nd line of depth, we should be able to hold our own.
  16. Give me Shaq @4 and let Ray/AJ battle for that last spot. Boogie either trade for a 6th or 7th.
  17. Which would be a mistake considering Shaq is clearly the better player.
  18. Wow, wish granted. Out of all the remaining available pass rushers, this is the guy I wanted most. Absolutely amazing signing.
  19. What's absurd is that 570 snap count. How can he ever have an impact at such a low snap count?
  20. Exactly, the previous defense (Frazier) was so predictable opposing teams knew we would run the same soft zone all game.
  21. I think this is exactly what they'll do. With Gabe's ankle issues and inconsistencies, you can't pay a wr3 the money of a #2. See what Gabe does in his final rookie contract year. If he continues with the drops then draft his replacement. I think over the next 2 years Diggs & Kincaid will be gobbling up most of the targets.
  22. If Sean does call more stunts and blitzes then in theory this should improve Ed's performance. And if that was the collective reasoning for extending him then I'm all for it. But if Daquan or Poona get hurt, it comes crashing down.
  23. When do these analytical stats translate to sacks & TFL's? Over a 4 year span Ed averages 3.6 sacks and 7.5 TFL.
  24. Yes, if Jones & Ford stay relatively healthy it will allow Ed to continue his serviceable role. Ed's numbers do not jump out and scream top 10 DT. And yes if you look at a future formulatic version of this contract you can rationalize it's 14-16th ranked. But what happens if Poona or Daquan get hurt? Or God forbid Ed gets a substantial injury? I've watched our defense let us down during the SB run and even in the last 4 playoff exits. I'd rather put any residual money toward supporting Josh.
