  1. Others have already said it, so it’s not very original or exciting, but…if I close my eyes and try to picture who I would be most excited for the Bills to come out of this draft with (that they actually have a shot at), the answer is… Jameson Williams. He’s a game changer. An offense transformer. He would up-level the Bills’ already potent offense to a degree that I believe would make them nearly unstoppable. The Allen to Williams deep connection would be something else, man. Bills would likely need to trade up for him, but I’d be fine with that.
  2. Everyone’s giving the topic creator crap for calling an idea a rumor. Meanwhile, the idea itself is actually a good one, IMO. You can’t convince me that Bradberry + Hughes wouldn’t do more to help the Bills win games than AJ Epenesa. Has Epenesa shown anyone ANYTHING to convince them he’s gonna break out in year three?! Meanwhile, Bradberry has shown to be a high level corner in the type of defensive scheme we play, and Hughes offers a lot more pass rush juice (and leadership) than AJ.
  3. Agreed. Unfortunately for Matt Rhule, he may not have the luxury of waiting til next year. If I was Rhule (actually, I kind of am. My name is Matt Rule), I’d rather have Mayfield than Pickett or Willis. I think Mayfield would lead that Panthers roster to the playoffs in year 1, which would buy Rhule more time as head coach.
  4. Agreed. If they get up to pick five, which they now have the ammo to do, they not only likely get their choice of QBs, they also get to prevent their division rival from potentially getting whatever QB they pick. Only question I have is whether it's Willis or Pickett.
  5. I've seen grades as low as round 4on Tolbert. Seems you have him with a mid 2nd round grade or so. I'm curious to know why you think so highly of him. Is it primarily his separation ability?
  6. I think this is all about QBs. I think the Eagles want to make sure to have ammo next year for a QB in case Hurts doesn't work out. I think the Saints package the two 1sts to jump in front of Carolina and take a QB.
  7. If I hadn't JUST heard Beane say "we want to see Diggs in Buffalo for years to come", and if I hadn't JUST heard that they really like to give Josh Allen input and ownership of the offense and make him happy, and it's well known that he Diggs are very close, I might -- MIGHT -- believe this. I do not believe this.
  8. With the 62nd pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select Sam Williams, EDGE, Ole Miss The Chiefs need some help at EDGE opposite Frank Clark. Sam Williams is freaky athletic, running a 4.46 at 6'4", 261 lbs. He needs a lot of improvement against the run, but his pass rushing skills pop off the tape. He set the school record for sacks in 2021 with 12.5 and also forced 4 fumbles. He has snap quickness, speed, flexibility, and active hands. He'll be a sub-package rusher in year one and, once he rounds out his game a bit, a fixture on our d-line for years to come. Williams was arrested for sexual battery in 2020, but here at Kansas City, we don't really mind having terrible scumbag human beings on the team because WINZ, baby! @HappyDays and the Cincinnati "you call this chili?!" Bengals are now on the clock.
  9. I always look at the opposing QB. I usually consider games against bad to mediocre QBs to be a lock, games against good QBs to be a more-likely-than-not Bills victory, and games against elite QBs to be a coin flip. After the past few years, I also expect games against very high powered running games to be a bit of a coin flip. We seem to really struggle with those at times. Most of my football watching life was spent in the drought. I’m not at “expecting to beat every team we play” just yet.
  10. You must be mistaken, Scott. I’ve never been wrong in my life. Not once.
  11. Well there you have it. The wife has spoken. That’s that.
  12. And how did that work out for them against good passing offenses last year? How did it work for them against the Kansas City Chiefs two years in a row in the playoffs? How effective were undrafted Levi Wallace and late rounder Dane Jackson in limiting Tyreek Hill in the most important games of the year? I would contend that while McDermott and Frazier are quite capable of coaching up late round corners in order to field a generally good pass defense, the lack of talent at CB2 (and once Tre was injured, at CB1) limited their defense schematically and left them vulnerable against good passing offenses. There were other factors, of course, but look at the defensive performance the first time we played Kansas City in 2021 vs the playoff game. Having Dane Jackson and Levi Wallace as the two starting corners absolutely cost the Bills. I don't believe that subtracting Levi Wallace and then adding in any combination of Nick McCloud, Olaijah Griffin, Cam Lewis, or Siran Neal is going to IMPROVE the secondary from what we saw in that playoff loss in KC, and make no mistake, the secondary needs to be better than it was in that game. Tre returning will help, but we don't know how many games he'll miss or how good he'll be immediately upon return. And even then, upgrading the CB2 spot -- I'm not ready to just hand it to Dane Jackson -- should be a priority. And on top of THAT, improved depth at outside corner is a necessity, as we saw after Thanksgiving last year. As for "eschewing BPA", I don't think I mentioned that anywhere in my post. I'd like to see two corners taken in this draft, but I didn't say that they should force it, or that one of them had to be a 1st rounder. I have said, and will repeat, that I'd actually prefer they use their 1st round pick on an offensive player. But between rounds 2-7, and with 8 picks overall, there's no reason they can't draft a couple corners. The pile of undrafteds (McCloud, Griffin, Lewis) is not enough to dissuade me from this notion. The AFC is loaded with good quarterbacks and good passing offenses. It's high time the Bills move past this "we can get by with undrafted guys from Alcorn State!" phase and add some outside corner talent opposite White.
  13. @aristocrat
  14. God I hope not. Don't rush Tre back. Injury recurrence odds go up if he comes back too early. Sign a veteran CB, draft two corners, and thus ensure that your defense will be strong enough to get you through until Tre is really and truly 100%. Good teams draft at least one corner every year any way.
  15. How do the Bills get to 12 wins? They wake up each Sunday and choose violence.
  16. Maybe it’s the health problems you noted, but the Eagles seem to do everything they can NOT to feature him. Boston Scott, Jordan Howard, Kenneth Gainwell…I keep waiting for Sanders to break out and it just hasn’t happened.
  17. This was the moment where we got over our Patriots hurdle once and for all. Ironically, it may have been the early Pats games that helped Allen grow the most. Solving those Belichick defensive puzzles pushed Josh to new heights.
  18. Makes perfect sense for the Eagles. Miles Sanders is nothing to write home about. Adding Breece allows Sanders to shift to a change of pace and third down back, which is probably a better role for him.
  19. I'm about to go out of the house for a few hours, and it's about to be my pick after H20. Rather than hold everyone up, I sent my pick to @Virgil. (side note: How does it seem like after waiting around for forever, it always seems to be your pick right when you're about to go out or go to work or go to bed? Like clockwork).
  20. His middle name is actually "Tapdancing". Jesus TAPDANCING Christ. Everyone knows this.
  21. Fair point. Hadn't considered that. I wonder if anyone will end up signing him and, if so, what his contract will look like. I'd rather have him than Shaq Lawson, but I'm guessing he's not willing to sign for what Shaq signed for.
  22. Just would've been nice to see a little statement from the team or something thanking Jerry for his time here if, in fact, he's not coming back. He was here for NINE years. Always a good, loyal Bill who did his job and never complained, even though we consistently stunk for the first half of his tenure here. I'm not asking for a parade or anything, just a little thank you message on social media, where fans could add their own thanks in the comments section. I know, I know, this is just business and I'm an overly sentimental goon. So be it. One of the best drought era Bills. Won't get to be part of our championship season in 2023. Just a shame is all.
  23. I do wish we were bringing Jerry Hughes back this season. He's been top 10 or top 20 in pressures or pass rush win rate multiple times over the past few seasons. I know the sack numbers aren't there, but he's been a productive pass rusher for the Bills for a while now. I think that the attention Von Miller will attract on 3rd downs would only make him better, similar to when he get to rush opposite Mario Williams. Alas, I suppose it was time to move on to the trio of youngsters and hope they step up. Doesn't make it any less sad to see a good guy, good player, and team leader like Jerry Hughes not get brought back.
  24. I really like the Emmanuel Sanders comp for Dotson. His combination of quickness, route running, hands, and deep speed, and the fact that he has inside/outside versatility. Same height and weight. Sanders was a high level receiver in this league for a long time, size be damned. I would be very happy if the Bills drafted Dotson.
  25. I agree with what you just said, to a degree, yes. I don’t agree with the belittling, overly simplistic, hyperbolic “McCoach can’t build an offense” comment that Vet made. I also don’t agree that there’s been a lack of effort to support Allen or that he lacks weapons in general. From signing Brown and Beasley and Morse, to trading for Diggs and drafting Gabe Davis, Dawson Knox, Devin Singletary, Zack Moss, and Spencer Brown, to signing Roger Saffold and OJ Howard and Jamison Crowder and re-signing Isaiah McKenzie, there has been a consistent effort to protect Josh and give home weapons. Those efforts have paid off by allowing the Bills to have a top three offense the past two seasons. So yes, I want the Bills to keep stacking playmakers on offense. I’ve said numerous times this offseason I hope they draft a WR in the first round and another by round 5. But no, I don’t agree with the notion that they don’t know how to build an offense or haven’t put resources into doing so, or that Josh has to do too much because this offense is bereft of playmakers. Also, I believe that no matter WHO they put on offense, Josh will always kind of look like he’s doing it all himself to a degree, because that’s who he is as a player. By the very nature of his will and next level effort, no one on offense is ever going to look like they’re doing as much or trying as hard as Josh Allen. That’s who he is, and that’s why we love him.
