Patrick Mahomes Lighting up the Chargers
Boatdrinks replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Blame the Pegulas. Having to pass on a QB because the new coach didn’t the new GM to have no say in the pick. It’s all tied in to the Pegulas hiring Rex. They should have totally cleaned house and had a new GM in place as well. Total tire fire that could set the team back years. -

Did Peterman get pulled too early

Or did the Bills trade McCarron too soon ? -
This is what happens when you name a starter 6 days prior
Boatdrinks replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t think it would have mattered if Peterman was named the starter back in July. -
Time will tell...

Most fans think he’s just a speed WR with poor hands, They’ve seen his kind come and go over the years. Foster has a lot to prove thus far, it’s hard to say they’re wrong.

Peterman and Offense Expectations: R-E-L-A-X

Agreed. I think this is actually one of the winnable games on the schedule, even if it were going to be good weather. The conditions make it a bit more favorable as well. -
Peterman and Offense Expectations: R-E-L-A-X

I don’t think many fans have high hopes for this offense, but if they’re terrible fans will complain. That’s just how it is, even when expectations are modest. It is true that offenses are usually behind the defenses early in the season; perhaps that gives the Bills a better chance in this game of surprising the Ravens. I’m not counting on it by any means. The sloppy conditions might balance things out a bit and lead to a few turnovers. -
Peterman and Offense Expectations: R-E-L-A-X

It’s a little easier to accept a “RELAX” when it’s coming from an Aaron Rodgers with a good team around him. The Bills offense has to prove themselves credible before relax can apply after a poor performance. -
I think Troup was worse because the Bills had needed a TE for years and they passed up Gronkowski to draft Troup. No one great was selected after Brooks in round 2 , and Gronkowski wasn’t exactly a secret. He was a 1st round talent coming off an injury and everyone knew he would go somewhere early in round two. I don’t recall if Brooks got injured his rookie year or whatever, but to me Troup’s futility coupled with the forgoing of Gronkowski makes Troup the worse pick of the two. Maybe because Brooks was so long ago and the team was still pretty good after that. Just my opinion, you see it differently and that’s fine.

I said a “decent stint as ..l” not a “decent “DB . A stint is a period of time at a job . 5 years is above the NFL average. It means nothing about the quality of the job holder. He did ok for himself. There is nothing to admit. I never said he was any kind of good player, or even draft pick. There absolutely have been worse second round picks made by the Bills. Troup was a worse pick than Brooks, for example. I don’t even think he ever suited up for the team. That is worse.

You are misconstruing what I said about Brooks. I said he had a “ decent stint” as a DB. That doesn’t make any judgment on the kind of player he was. The average NFL career is still somewhere around 3 years. Brooks was in the league for 5. That’s a decent amount of time and he did OK for himself. He was nowhere near a top player in the league, nor are the players you mentioned. For the very few who ever get a chance to be an NFL player, sticking in the league as a backup, ST player or whatever for 5 years is doing better than average. Also, just a side note: I don’t think Brooks was drafted by Polian. He was fired after SB XXVII, and Brooks was drafted in ‘94. That would make him a John Butler draft pick.
-
I don’t care about stats or how bad Brooks was as a WR or a draft pick. He managed to hang around in the NFL for 5 years and that’s doing ok for himself. Decent, in other words. He wasn’t a starting CB or anything , just a DB in the league. If I had to pick a worst 2 nd rounder for the Bills it would be Torrel Troup ( ?). He was picked while Gronkowski was on the board and barely suited up for the Bills due to constant injury issues. Don’t know if he ever even appeared in a game. Was a higher 2nd rounder than Brooks as well. Anyway, it doesn’t have any effect on the validity of Brook’s opinions. That is the larger point.

Yep, they know it’ll help sell more overpriced sweatshop -produced shoes to minority youth , by peddling the idea that it’s cool to hate cops. Great job Nike. Funny how so many that feel the NFL policy on protests was bad because it showed the NFL only cares about money love this move by Nike. Then justify it by saying “ hey, Nike is in business to make money”.

NFL Kickoff/TNF: Falcons at Eagles
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nah. He just wasn’t all that enthused about playing zone D and made it known. The “ process” weeded him out. -
The Bills organization post- Wade Phillips was truly bush league and something of an embarrassment. They provided Sully with plenty of material to write his column. Their constant bungling brought a droning sameness to his writing, but there’s that old saying about the messenger. The Pegulas didn’t get off to a great start bringing in sexy Rexy and his clown show buffoonery. I give Sullivan credit for not going along with a change in format that he felt was lacking. It would have been easier to stick around than to stick with his convictions.

Around 200 net. I can see a few sacks being given up here. One TD to go with a couple INTs. -
The Punter Situation/New Punter
Boatdrinks replied to BillsFan692's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he sucks you bring Ryan back. Or someone else. I just can’t get too worked up over a Punter. Maybe if the “ Guy” they cut was Ray. He wasn’t.
