NFL to release schedule dates on May 9th
Boatdrinks replied to Mark Vader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Releasing the schedule is fine. It can be changed or even reduced at a later date if necessary. The vast majority of games are on Sunday anyway , so that makes changes easier. Given that the regular season doesn’t begin until after Labor Day, the NFL has the luxury of time here. I think the NFL would play a shortened season if necessary, and eliminating out of conference games would be a logical starting point. Since divisions only have four teams an all - division season would be an extremely shortened one. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Give em an appearance ticket. They won’t be subject to the racism of bail anymore, so they’re free to go commit more crimes and be a scourge on society. NY state “ making life fair for all”....except for victims of crime. -
It works, but it’s not exactly free.Huge taxes come with it. In a disaster scenario like this, the US had far mare capacity, ventilators per 1000 etc than any other country. Still probably not enough, but socialized healthcare is even more stingy. You’re competing for even less resources, so your chances of survival go down.

Reading the tea leaves and it’s coming up Dugger
Boatdrinks replied to FeelingOnYouboty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The talent in the draft is at WR, and injuries happen. Depth can’t hurt. Many positions are indeed set, but perhaps Beane can deal and move up from that 54 slot. There isn’t a proven #1 TE, so maybe add a player there. I just prefer to see them address the offensive side of the ball in some way, as it needs the most improvement. Still was not even a top 20 passing team last season. Draftniks have said starting caliber WR talent will be available in the second and third rounds. Stockpile some of that talent and become at least a top 15 passing offense so the team has a chance to win a title. The defense is more than good enough to get there. -

Booooring . And unnecessary. Go where the depth of this draft is and add to the offense. The defense is fine, so no draft picks on that side until round 3 at least please. -
I agree. It’s very annoying when some fans just want to move on to the next guy before the time for actually making that decision has elapsed. Those are the haters. Now, that window of time is different for each player. It’s a judgment call based on the body of work to that point, level of improvement, input of coaches and GM etc. Draft position/ investment is a factor up to a point , but it’s not the main factor. It’s why an EJ Manuel is quickly moved on from, and why Josh Allen gets more time. The odds are against any drafted QB being franchise, but you have to let it play out. It’s fine to criticize and discuss, but within the framework of knowing the player will be given a reasonable amount of time. Outside of that framework, it’s just histrionics and vitriol.

And they will hoard them , as they will believe it gives them a large measure of protection vs everyone else. Heck, they hoard toilet paper. Still. -

Imagine ; the big , bad employer might actually be trying to protect its workers from a careless and unhygienic public. -
If you’ve been out anywhere the last few weeks you realize there are a lot of idiots out there. People are still hoarding toilet paper for what reason I don’t know. Oh well, that’s part of the price of a free society. Yes, the acts you describe should be considered terrorism and we need harsh penalties including jail time for anyone committing these acts. This is America, and we need to get back to a semblance of a normal economy sooner than later. We don’t restrict freedoms of all because some will be lawless. We must punish the offenders, though the left will always find that to be “ unfair “ somehow. Follow the rules, don’t excuse them away because life isn’t fair. And that is exactly what socialized medicine would bring more of. Lots more.

I see you’ve bought their BS on the bail reform too. Not surprised. There’s an easy way to stay out of jail. -

Could be a simple error. It can be omitted if that’s the case; not a reason to have another vote. The source makes me highly skeptical, your mileage may vary. -

Cuomo, Blas, and the DOCCS are in lockstep on this. AC pushed for the bail reform earlier this year. It’s part of their agenda. -
Wear a mask if you want to. If you don’t want to, then don’t . If they advise wearing masks, no one will be able to find them anyway. We still have morons hoarding toilet paper and disinfecting wipes.

Agreed. I’m fine with the Federal response here ; perhaps states with hotspots could have been on it faster. None seemed prepared with supplies to deal with this. It’s an outside problem that got here eventually. -

They’re both morons. DeBlasio wants prison cells to have kitchenettes and individual A/C ( not making it up) and Cuomo released 1200 “ non violent “ inmates last Friday night including some sex offenders. Two horrendous individuals. -
They just cannot be trusted. A global crisis and unscrupulous Chinese companies looking to capitalize.

The vulnerable can isolate. There are things that can be done. Not “ ok “ with any virus killing people but it happens . The economy won’t magically bounce back in short order whenever it opens back up. The longer it’s closed down, the worse it will be. It’s not a great choice here, but that’s where we are. It’s a war. In past wars , the few ( still a lot) made the ultimate sacrifice for the good of the many. Now, there’s a mentality that most should sacrifice all for the good of the few. I just cannot agree with that. -

No, I wouldn’t describe myself that way at all. However, it’s not the most important issue to me. I’ve voted for Reagan, George HW Bush, Clinton twice. (Bill) .Did not vote for Obama or Hillary. The social issues haven’t been such a big deal for me personally. I think the left has gotten out of control since the millennium. -

It won’t be nearly the same. For most people that will not be a good thing at all. -

Again, this virus doesn’t kill everyone that gets it. Not even close. The economy may not recover anytime soon as it is. Locking down since January would have been a complete catastrophe. Any speculation on what could have been done is simply speculation. We are a free country and what you are describing is unrealistic in America. -

Everyone won’t die from this virus. Not even close. Many will have mild to no symptoms. That’s not the issue. It’s lack of resources to care for those who need it because it’s so contagious. This virus on its own isn’t a death sentence.
