We will be ultra conservative as usual and draft a DB or OL. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Boatdrinks replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It may not ultimately reduce death, but it most likely delays death. We need to admit the fact that people are going to continue to die of or with CoVid 19. Denying it is illogical. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Boatdrinks replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
But we cannot stay shut down for much longer; certainly not as long as many of these politicians seem to want. From Cuomo saying deaths are going down , but not quickly enough ( number of deaths wasn’t a criteria) to Poloncarz saying we haven’t tested people from enough areas in Erie County , they just throw around vague statements. No one seems able to admit that cases are going to go up as more people are tested, as well as when things reopen. The goal simply cannot be that no one anywhere ever gets Coronavirus again. It’s not remotely realistic. It seems that Politicians and therefore a sizable portion of the public at large keep focusing on “ when it’s safe”, and that’s misleading. Cuomo is already signaling that November isn’t going to be safe enough for voters to go to the polls. They talk of avoiding a “ second wave” , which is probably inevitable along with a third wave etc. No one is going to be “ safe “ from contracting Coronavirus without a vaccine, which is a long way off if it happens at all. Are Pols paralyzed by fear of public backlash because they’ve misled the public ? They’ve created an expectation of being “ protected” and “safe” from a virus that isn’t going away when Governors admit they cannot prolong reopening any longer. -
The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency
Boatdrinks replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I would be calling it some nonsensical rambling by Biden, and would definitely have been on it. However, I wouldn’t have twisted it into something he didn’t say at all. The LSM hysteria over this has been laughable. Locally , channel 2 news felt the need to spend 5 minutes of last nights edition “ explaining” that people shouldn’t ingest bleach. Their arrogance is mind boggling. -

He asked an extremely vague question that was probably nonsensical. He in no way made a suggestion about anything. -

Justin Jefferson should be our WR target at 22
Boatdrinks replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe they didn’t like Jefferson enough to take him in that spot. This was about value and immediate help, not depending on a rookie to carry the load. It’s a deep draft for WRs , and they can get one in the other rounds. Higgins was the target and had a bad Pro day. It seems they liked Lamb and Jeudy, but that was going to be an expensive move up if it happened at all. -

Except no one is doing this or even thinking about it ...except perhaps a liberal. -
Lol, what a crock of BS. Which is it now? Isn’t the goal to “ slow the spread” or is it to stop it completely ( that’s not going to happen) ? You don’t even know, do you Tibs? Here in BUF, a local news channel had a quote from an area doctor saying the early antibody testing data was “ disappointing”. He said you “ would hope there would be a higher rate of infection.”So which is it ? Herd immunity doesn’t happen when the population at large is shut in and shut down. Libs just want to tank the economy beyond repair, even though the vast majority of people won’t have an extreme reaction to Coronavirus. It seems the original goal has somehow shifted into preventing anyone anywhere from contracting Coronavirus, which isn’t realistic or even possible.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Boatdrinks replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Testing is on the States and Governors, then localities. They don’t want testing and do everything to delay it, then blame the Feds. They don’t want it, because it will lift the lockdowns. They are power mad and want to control the serfs, until the election. Then it clearly won’t be “ safe” enough to go out and vote ,so we must have a mail- in election, which they will try to steal. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Boatdrinks replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No ,stupid people are not the reason we have a President Trump, Tibs. Democrats are the reason; the only reason. Their warped worldview that defies common sense, defies the Constitution, embraces socialism, denounces capitalism, is overly PC and believes Caucasian Americans are racist. That’s why we have a President Trump. Thats why we have Trump, -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Boatdrinks replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You’re way off base, because everyone knows not to do such a thing (it’s not what Trump said anyway) and only someone who thinks everyone else is not intelligent would think otherwise. It doesn’t need to be said , nutjobs just believe that it does. Only a Dem has done something so obviously foolish (by drinking fish tank cleaner), at least to date. -

Yep, this was nonsensical rambling. Maybe he’s tired? Anyway, no human with a functioning brain cell remaining would take anything of note out of that mumbo jumbo. I dismissed it immediately. Oh well. See, liberals assume they are so supremely intelligent and everyone else is too dumb to figure anything out for themselves. It’s pathetic, really. Wasn’t it a Dem that drank the fish tank cleaner after all ? -

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Boatdrinks replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The numbers were wrong, Tibs because they had social distancing baked into them. Its looking pretty clear that the lockdowns were somewhat unnecessary . Sweden never locked down, for example. The numbers suggest that those who are most vulnerable and have underlying health conditions should avoid crowds and close contact with a lot of people. That would include older Americans. Hypertension and diabetes are going to lead to bad outcomes with covid 19. Keeping business shuttered and preventing otherwise healthy Americans from earning a living is probably a massive government overreach in this case. Yes, a lot more people are going to be infected with cornavirus and its not going away. Its not a reason to close an entire country for much longer. Certainly not indefinitely or until all risk of Covid19 for everyone is gone, as the far lefties seem to want. -

All potential good news must be taken with a large measure of caution; all potential bad news must be taken with an equal dose of hysteria. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Boatdrinks replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So this Kung-Flu is an extremely contagious coronavirus with a fatality rate probably somewhere just above that of influenza. Also with a high percentage of completely asymptomatic people, though I have no idea how many are asymptomatic with seasonal flu. He will be in a cave until sometime in 2024. -
Beane has traded up 5 times in 2 drafts.

He liked the cut-back, but was more of a slasher. -
So that would tell us who is infected today, but any of us might be infected 4 days from now . I understand the need for the antibody test to see what % of the population has already been infected. It’s going to be much higher than the currently known cases. Perhaps we might be able to isolate some asymptomatic positives, but that will be challenging to say the least. What would you like to see achieved with more testing?
