I think the NFL will have a plan for such a situation. It’s very possible , maybe even likely that what’s allowable will vary widely from state to state and locality to locality. Neutral site or even just more road games for teams in areas with more restrictions ( as WNY could be ) might happen. I think I recall a past season where the Raiders played an excess of road games for some reason , I don’t know why. Anyway, the NFL will think outside the box here. I don’t think there will be a Nationwide standard , and a stadium in West Virginia might be “safe” while at the same time in Orchard Park NY it’s not “ safe”. I disagree here. You actually can have certain teams play more road or neutral site games. It’s not perfect, but they will make it happen if they can. You’re talking about billions of dollars here in an all or nothing context , so I don’t think nothing is very high on their list of options.

I would be surprised if there isn’t an NFL season. Huge amounts of money to leave on the table. A player strike would shut it down though, and I guess that’s a possibility.

There is truth to this. Some here are probably too young to know or remember. Early on there was a lot of fear about how one could contract AIDS. Daily life went on before there were vaccines for many things. Ben Carson has stated that about 98% of people who get this Corona v will recover. It’s an interesting question - would you attend a game? It’s realistic because it will be most likely be allowed in some areas and not others.

Maybe, maybe not. I think it’s possible that a stadium could be open in one state but not in another. Would you attend.? The question was if there wasn’t a vaccine, which there almost certainly won’t. Right now, I could golf in West Virginia but cannot in NYS ( even though I golfed in NYS 4 days ago). so differences could exist. While the OP specifies a Bills game, it could be a Bills game in Arizona , so I think it is a valid and worthwhile discussion. Coronavirus and the threat of it won’t be gone by September, so the question is more aligned with going on with daily life and our willingness to do so.

Fans will be more starved for live sports programming in September than they are already. The networks won’t need to resort to phony piped in noise or graphics to draw viewers. Play by play is fine and cameras won’t do the obligatory panning around the stadium.

If everything is the same at that time there would be no attending a game in NY.

This is a complete fabrication. No one in NY died for lack of supplies. Some may have been able to be treated effectively with hydroxychloroquine, though.

Some of this is a bit “ out there” to me, but much of it isn’t all that far off from reality. Without going full PPP here, let’s just say how you vote may have a correlation with how easily you cede your rights and freedoms to the state.

Wrong game. The game the OP refers to was 2 years later, in 1993. Was a much , much colder day than 51-3 game in Jan 1991.

The President can mostly just recommend, and offer help. Governors are in the driver’s seat here. . This is how it should be, but it’s also gravely concerning under the rule of Cuomo. I’m expecting he will treat NYS as one entity ( ie NYC), when the data clearly shows NYC is unique in the state and in America as a whole. He’s prepared to destroy NY economically and beg the Federal government to bail him out. He can use the predictable backlash as more fuel against Trump. NYC should be effectively cordoned off from all other areas , but he will force the rest of the state to suffer as well.

What a crock. There was a time when CNN was a respectable outfit, but that was long ago. If you love America, appreciate facts over spin and think that less government intrusion into our lives is best you will like Fox. If you think America is systemically racist, want lots of spin interspersed with few facts, believe gender is just a suggestion, that government intrusion is better than individual control, owning a gun should only be for criminals, that criminals are victims ,and you enjoy Don Lemon telling you why caucasians are bad then you will find solace in CNN.

I am continually amazed by people today and their lack of reverence for those who fought and died for their very rights and freedoms. Freedoms they nonchalantly toss aside at the whim of some governor or county exec. I guess it’s no surprise when so many have been conditioned to think that America was just created by a bunch of wealthy white guys so they could have plantations and slaves.

Since our collective rights were not being stripped away, I paid only mild attention to H1N1.

Exactly. People are dying because of a virus, and because a lot of people don’t practice good hygiene and don’t respect others personal space. However, the country wasn’t founded on the concept of fear and bowing to government control over every aspect of daily life.

Many met their death fighting for the rights we have today. They loved their families , their country and the world. Times sure are different. We are in a time of soft, woke, triggered individuals that think the government and society at large owes them everything. Including protection from the vagaries of the natural world.

No upside at all. Such a scenario is a dream for those who lust after government control / involvement in every aspect of our daily lives. This just won’t work in America. As humans we have the innate right of freedom. None of us has an innate right to not catch a virus; to be free from that which occurs by chance.
