It was a hard loss AND we closed the gap
Boatdrinks replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
They’ve closed the gap, but the coaches blew the best opportunity for a SB win for this team in over 30 years -
A there was no remaining team they wouldn’t have been favored over in SB B they may not ever have the opportunity to host the conference title game again with the power structure in the AFC

Anybody welcome the team back from the airport?
Boatdrinks replied to Westside's topic in The Stadium Wall
Between the heartbreak and being sick to their stomachs I doubt too many made the trek. If they hold on for 13 seconds as they should have it would have been a mob scene imo -
It’s right up there with the worst of the worst. An absolute shame because the QB performance was the best of the best

Neither of these teams tonight looked like paper tigers. They looked more like the 2 best teams in the league.

The bye itself may not be overrated. The teams that had them were. I wondered going into the playoffs if this was a year where the bye mattered the least. No team was dominant and a team that gets hot at the right time can win it all.

Referee tendencies could lead to physical Bills vs. Chiefs game
Boatdrinks replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sure I’d love it if Brad Allen reffed the game. This may be the next best thing though. I’d be much more worried if a crew that called more penalties than most was assigned. That type of crew and the resulting flag fest rarely benefits the Bills. -
Divisional Round: Buffalo at KC Sunday at 6:30
Boatdrinks replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
What % of #1 seeds win their divisional round game? Did it matter to the Titans or the Packers ? Home teams were slightly under 50% in the NFL this season. Perhaps that’s more predictive than what happened in say, the 1970’s. The Bills fell short in many areas besides handling Chris Jones in that game. It’s taken on an almost mythical status now. Anyway the Bills are much healthier and playing at a higher level than they were in the 2020 playoffs. -

Perfect .. right where we want ‘em -
There’s been exactly one Brady in what , over a hundred years of NFL football? You play to win the game, yes. However you don’t always win the game. You have a very pessimistic way of looking at one of the best Bills teams in years.

I concur. The Bills game plan and execution in last years playoff game was poor. They had much better preparation and a better game plan in the October matchup. The coaching has been impressive down the stretch and I believe it will continue .They’ve found the right OL combination and are a multi dimensional offense that utilizes everybody. The Bills look like a team of destiny now.

Quiet, cool weather conditions for Bills playoff game in Kansas City

Perfect. Prime time Josh is not going to be denied victory. -
A LOT more than just Allen contributed to the loss to JAX. It was over 2 months ago. He dismantled the Pats* twice since then.

It’s against NFL gospel to criticize Mahomes. We don’t hear about his inconsistent play, turnovers earlier in the season. Instead we are told the defense has turned their season around. Perhaps the defense was put in bad spots when Mahomes was being a turnover machine? On a Betting show on 1520 radio the morning of the Pats playoff game, the talking heads said they had to take the Pats and the 4 points because Allen lost to the Jaguars 2 months ago! The bias in favor of Mahomes vs Allen is astounding.

I don’t think it’s more advantageous to KC. Bills are a passing offense like the Chiefs and ticky tack calls would hurt the Bills defense. Seems like Husseys crew calls the actual penalties and doesn’t try to put “ his stamp “ on the game. Call it the same way for both sides and let them play. I d say most Bills fans would be good with that. -
The Patriot mystique dies slowly. National talking heads still were leaning Pats going into Saturday’s game. Just a few weeks removed from a convincing Bills win at Gillette. It’s as if the Pats being at the center of the NFL universe is the natural order of things. They need to realize it’s about the QBs , and the Pats are becoming just a team in the league again.

Well, Filthy is wrong again with more troll like pessimism’s. Actually he IS right about one thing. The October game means zero when it comes to this game. Not because of Jones being out or any of the Bills who missed that contest. It’s just a new game and all that goes out the window. What he doesn’t get is that it always the case. The previous game never matters , but he kept referencing the Monday night Pats game as if it was relevant to week 16 or Saturday nights beat down.
