Whatever. Kelly has leadership skills, Allen will be the leader of this team. Pick his brain about that. Questions I'd ask Jim if I were Allen: 1. How did hosting parties after every home game help bring the team together? 2. As a young QB what's the best way to call out veterans if I need to? Just a couple of many leadership type questions one could ask. Effective leadership skills don't have an expiration date.

It's good to see logic on this board. McD and Beane have a plan on how to build a consistently successful championship football team. They are implementing their plan. Their plan involved getting rid of players they didn't think fit and taking a cap hit quickly to do so, then using their dollars to get guys they want. If their plan works they'll be heros. If it doesn't they'll get fired. That is reality. The other reality is if they had done what some wanted and just retooled a bit, worked around the edges, etc. the naysayers would be on here moaning about how they should have stripped everything down, taken the cap hit all at once, etc. Because the agenda is to argue against whatever the Bills do to look cute on a message board.

You are, to put it mildly, a moron. Kelly has been there and done that. Do I think he should have input on the actual offensive plans, etc.? No. Do I think as a guy who played years in the league he can offer some perspective on the expectations of a QB in Buffalo, in terms of interacting with the community, teammates, etc. The answer to that is an obvious yes, and you're just being ignorant if you think the opposite. That is reality. You live in some delusional world if you think the opposite. What is YOUR reality here. Do you actually think having a HOF QB offer a kid some advice is some how hurting him? How?

What utter , complete nonsense. What drivel. What utter crap. Kelly is not an albatross, and no one here is idolizing him nor are blind to the fact that his team lost 4 Super Bowls. And no one here has any delusions that Kelly is somehow telling Allen how to run the offense or whatever. What Kelly is, is a HOF QB that can share his experiences with a young QB who all hope will become the next great QB of the Bills, and that will lead them to a Lombardi. If you don't think he might be able to pick up a few things from Kelly about leadership, team dynamics, hell even how hosting parties at his house might help with team unity then you are either completely ignorant about such matters or are being willfully dumb.

I have commented in the past that reporters should probably quit posting their emails or twitter accounts or participate in sites like this, because it seems when you try and then have a dialog they get all pissy about things. Wawrow not so much usually; Graham is the king of that. So I would say Mr. Wawrow might want to consider not interacting in a forum such as this, because for him it's a no win situation. That said, it is abundantly clear that there are some posters on this board (just like there was on the BBMB back in the day) who take some kind of perverse joy in constantly being negative about things associated with the Bills. I used to think it was a defense mechanism given the state of the team for years, but now I think it is obvious some do this because they think it's cute to get a rise out of folks and give themselves some sort of bizarre ego boost.

Sporting News ranks all 32 NFL coaches for 2019
oldmanfan replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's silly to rank any guy who has never coached a game in the NFL before. Again, this is what happens when you have to fill a website every day with stuff. Guys write nonsense just to fill a space. -

Another example of the problems with having to fill a space every 24 hours. -
Aaron Schatz Football Outsiders-- Still Doubts Josh
oldmanfan replied to JESSEFEFFER's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mentioned this earlier but one of the confounders on this ball placement stuff is how much you put on the QB and how much you put on the receiver. We've all seen times after an incompletion where the QB points at himself to say it was his fault, and vice versa with the receiver. So, while I can't quantitate it, there are throws any QB makes where they put it right where they wanted but the receiver didn't get to the spot. -

oldmanfan replied to JESSEFEFFER's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If someone has a mechanical issue, such as the ball coming out of his hand a bit early, they can be precise but not be as close to the target as they want I.e. Inaccurate. Like a pitcher than keeps throwing high. Puts it pretty much in the same spot but not in the strike zone.Or a QB that oversteps during his delivery. When you say he has to put a ball in a precise spot where a WR can catch it and run, that is precision. Great throwers are both accurate and precise. And if you look look at the work done by two guys on this board who looked at a multitude of throws Allen made and graded each ine you will see he was nowhere near as inaccurate as you want to think. -
Who Should Be Next On The Wall Of Fame?

McDole is also a good one. Biscuit too. Reggie McKensie. Kyle and Fred will be there eventually. Another guy that hasn't been mentioned is Tony Greene. -
