  1. I wanted them to draft Watson, so no I have no problem with him. Your answer about Goff indicates why you're wrong about Allen. When Goff got a different OC, his performance shot up. I don't think Daboll is as horrible as some, I also don't think he's that great. The Bills model is to win with defense, running, and a B that makes throws in the short/intermediate range. I started a thread last week saying let Josh be Josh. You look at his performance in fourth quarters, where he is in the top tier of QBs in the league. He has more freedom and is more aggressive through the air. Let him play that way for all four quarters. By the way, you can score over 24 points without throwing for over 300 yards. Or did you not watch the game last week against the Eagles. Wentz threw for 172, and they destroyed us with the run game. Singletary is averaging somewhere around 6-7 yards per carry, I think? it would be coaching malpractice for us to not run the ball.
  2. We all get by now that you'd rather be entertained than have the Bills win. You've listed 5 Qbs above, none of which have sniffed a championship so why you picked them I have no idea. Here's what I know will happen, or at the very least have a very strong suspicion his will happen: Josh will one day throw for 300 yards. Let's say it's either this Sunday against the Browns or against the Fish the following week. Here's what you'll post: 1. Fine, he's done it once but truly good QBs do it consistently 2. Well, he did it but it was more due to the (pick one): poor DBs on the opposing team, poor pass rush by the opposing team, that the WRS bailed him out by making great catches, that it wasn't really a true 300 yard game because X number of yards came from short passes with long runs after the catch 3. And God forbid if they lose the same game, it will be that it doesn't matter that he threw for 300 yards because they lost (and therein completely going back on a month's worth of posts on the subject).
  3. I think you're completely off base here. They are not setting the offense around Allen's limitations, or at least what your bias perceives as limitations. They want him in the pocket more, want him taking the short and intermediate throws, want to run the ball effectively. Allen's completion percentage is up, his picks are down. He is one of the top rated QBs in the fourth quarter in the league, and since you insist on comparisons with others it's interesting your leave that out. The kid has a lot to do yet. Needs to obviously hit some more long passes, needs to continue improving his reads. But you appear to be one of those folks who had decided he was no good on 2018 draft day, and refuse to open your eyes and be objective.
  4. No you don’t compare to the league because it is pretty clear the Bills offensive philosophy is different than, say, the Chiefs. You look at how the individual player is improving over his previous performances. And Allen is improving.
  5. If you don’t see improvement in Allen this year it’s because you don’t want to.
  6. The OP is on record last week saying on this very site that he’d rather have the Bills throw for 300 yards and lose than win. He actually purports to be a fan but wants the team to lose. Factor that in when reading his stuff.
  7. Watching the first half now. Only one long run I’ve seen with him on the field; got excellent penetration but the whole D slanted right and Peterson cut back against pursuit.
  8. No reason to apologize. Play the games on the schedule, beat the teams you play Memories are short around here.
  9. Sure it’s not. Whatever you want to believe..
  10. You know they can't beat teams they're playing in the next few weeks. You know. But you're not playing Nostradamus. OK.
  11. I think it would be interesting to have him on the field along with Star and Phillips.
  12. Some here are more educated in football than me, so help me out on this. The impression I had between halves yesterday is that the front 7 was more reading and reacting in the first half, whereas in the second half they were attacking the LOS and forcing plays. Is that correct?
  13. I felt differently. I thought he hung in there in the pocket and made some decent reads and throws. Not bad for a rookie in his first start.
  14. If you truly are an adult, which you are calling into question, you will realize immature statements like you are only suppose to blindly praise the Bills is ridiculous. You should have some basis for your criticism, and you should be able to engage in a dialogue and debate without behaving this way. Let's take Oliver. I have said in this very thread that while he has gotten some good pressure in the passing game, he has struggled in run support. Let me say it again: he has struggled in run support. The difference between folks like you and folks like me and others around here, is that you are unwilling to have your opinions challenged. When that is done, you default into this kind of diatribe. If you want to have a real discussion, then discuss. Like how anyone can call Allen a bust is at this point in his career just simply wrong IMHO. If you wat to engage in a constructive way, do so. IF you just want to be a flame thrower, then the mods will get involved as they should.
  15. Of course I can argue that. It depends on your expectations. If your expectation was another Aaron Donald, sure. But that would have been a completely unrealistic expectation. Oliver is getting good pressure on passing downs, struggling more against the run. He'll improve
  16. It is way too premature to worry about the kid. Watch the games; he gets penetration in the passing game, but is more vulnerable in the running game. Kyle was kind of like that. I need to go back and watch the game again, but from what I've read they changed their gap schemes the second half, hit gaps quicker rather than wait for blockers to get to them. That might help the kid in the run game. I'd also like to see if they could put him outside, with Phillips and Star inside, in earlier downs. He certainly has the quickness to be outside.
  17. Oh no. They have to score in a very specific manner. Only scores where Allen fades back and throws a ball 60 yards into the air that lands like a butterfly with sore feet into the waiting arms of Foster will now be acceptable as scores for the Bills. Any others will be counted as touchbacks with the ball given back to the opposing team. Also, any further victories against teams with a losing record will only be counted as half a victory.
  18. Ok Nostradamus.
  19. When I watch him in the pass rush he's getting pressure, just hasn' t had that extra split second to finish the job. Run game, he needs to continue working. Rather than focus on the negative of a rookie, I prefer to focus on the positive of what Phillips has brought. Oliver will have his place in the line as he goes forward.
  20. So now they have to score points in a specific way. If they score 30 next week you’ll say they have to score 30 with just passing. Some around here refuse to enjoy a successful team.
