Because you could still harbor the virus for a while and transmit it. None at all. No fever or anything. Get my second one Jan 10. -
Covid vaccine real world experiences
oldmanfan replied to GaryPinC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Got mine a week ago. The process was great. Our hospital cordoned off an office area for them. You had to register with the CDC for them to do follow up for side effects and such, which they did by text for the three days following my immunization. The immunization itself was easy, no different than any other. They made you stay for 15 minutes in case of an anaphylactic response, then off I went. Other than my arm being a little sore the next day, no other effects at all. When it’s your turn, take it! Let’s beat this damn thing! -

I had just turned 9 years old and was at the Rockpile to see the Hit Heard Round The World - still the greatest play in Bills history. -

Can’t find anything about Roberts. Was he hurt yesterday, or did they sit him and have Hyde back on punts because of the muff in the first half?

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
oldmanfan replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Quick vaccine update. I got it at 7:50 this morning, nothing all day except a little soreness at the injection site like any other shot. At 3:30 I got a text from the CDC to do my first “v-safe check in”. Had to answer some questions about any symptoms I might be having, whether it was arresting my activities, and such. While I had nothing to report, I’m glad the CDC is compiling all this information! Check in with them again tomorrow! -

The second shot is 21 days after the first one, so I'm scheduled for January 10th. I'll update in the next day or so about any reactions. -
Predict Josh Allen's Next Contract
oldmanfan replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm wondering if Josh is going to do a Brady, and take less money to be sure the Bills can sign guys to put around him. If I were Terry and Beane, I might sit down with Josh and his agent, and offer something like a 15 year contract at 20 million per, with a guaranteed personal services contract with he team for 20 years after that at a few million a year. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Just got my vaccine 20 minutes ago. I work in health care with direct patient contact, I am 65, and I have asthma so I qualified as one of the ones to get it. The process was very straightforward. You sign up for a CDC site to let them know about any adverse effects you might get, and the injection itself was easy; hardly felt the needle at all. They then had me wait around for 15 minutes in case I developed any severe allergic reaction, which I did not. They also sign you up for your second injection while on site and you get a reminder from the CDC site to be sure you get the second shot. When you get your chance to get the vaccine, do so. Let's beat this damn thing! -

He did not hit him, he wrapped him up with both arms and tackled him. And you don't wait 5 minutes then throw a flag -

My dad was a ref. He taught me that reffing is a lot harder than you think. But even he would say this crew is awful if he was alive to watch this -

Pelosi and Schumer need to go?
oldmanfan replied to Unforgiven's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I would prefer we get back to the original intent of the founders - have Congress convene a few weeks a year, decide what they need to decide, then go home to their normal work. Or at the very least term limits. The long time politicians in DC are way more interested in party politics and power than getting anything accomplished for their constituents. -
Fraud or no fraud? that is the question...

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
oldmanfan replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
To the contrary I am sure the protests contributed, although I’d like to see here and after data in this cities to confirms. The issue I have with our SoCal friend is that he insists on trying to defend Trump by doing the “well, what about X or Y” defense. It does not matter what others did, it matters what he did . And encouraging rallies without masks especially in the White House was ridiculous -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
oldmanfan replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I suggest you quit thinking in either/or ways. Trump’s rallies caused outbreaks where he had rallies - Tulsa or the White House for examples. California is likely due to Covid fatigue and improper in home meetings without masks. Your desire to defend Trump to the death blinds you to reality.
