  1. i think this is how the majority of reasonable fans see it.
  2. so you interpret one person's post as that he's ok with it? i don't think he said he would be happy with it, but rather it may happen, and shouldn't get the staff fired. i'd be disappointed after only improving 2 games, but i suppose it could happen. i was originally against playing allen this past year at all, but now i'm happy he did because it may have sped up this rebuild process a bit. with a good fa and draft, only improving 2 games would be a huge bummer.
  3. what fans said the would be happy with 8-8? this keeps coming up. no one said it. reading comprehension people. the question of the thread was when would the gap be closed. some gave their opinion that it probably wouldn't be there next year, no that that was ok. stop with this nonsense narrative. they wouldn't be, nor should they be. some people just want to ignore what's being said in this thread for the sake of complaining. it can be difficult to have a discussion around here. i even had someone putting words in my mouth, literally lying about comments i've made. it's crazy town.
  4. anyone on board with this? after that second season, i'm not sure if i want to use my time.
  5. my only gripe about wny is the lack of sun this time of year. the january to april run is brutal. gloomy, cold, damp, etc. i think it's as bad as advertised. that being said, the suburbs are great, schools are excellent, my area for a small town has some great restaurants. i'm also at the point in my life where it doesn't take me much to make me happy, so whether i lived in a large city vs small, i'd likely be doing the same things everyday.
  6. This is extermely well put. It’s not easy or even fair to ask fans to endure more losing for the sake of winning, but I don’t want a quick appearance here and there in the playoffs. I want to go into each season expecting this team to be playing into January.
  7. Yes. Sammy with his bloated salary and limited production would not have been good for this team. Agreed. When will he’s realize it? In year 6? Maybe in year 7?
  8. It’s shocking how others have taken this some place else.
  9. this is the stupid ***** you do. can you show me once where i stated "tear it down for the first time ever". you love to create made up scenarios to try to win an argument that doesn't exist. you're honestly the board's annoying girlfriend. go ahead....show me where i made any comment where i said it was time to tear it down for the first time ever. i'm curious how you try to twist this. as of now, you're busy being you.
  10. for clarification here, it's obvious that some people are reading into the fact that some don't feel competitive gap will be closed enough next year as being ok. take a breath and realize that was never said. we were set up for failure with the promise of results, and year 3 is when fans rightfully come looking.
  11. agreed. even at this point it's tough to use injuries as an excuse. it has to happen at some point.
  12. agreed. if this team shows no improvement into next year, we're all pretty screwed. i do think though that we can see improvement without the playoffs. people may not like to hear that, but it could work out that way. don't you have an awful hot take to push on someone?
  13. that's it? that's not an excuse, it's a reality. even if it is year two from beane, it's year 3 under this coaching staff, and fans expect results as they should.
  14. when i need they don't need to make the playoffs, i mean if they don't, i don't think the pegulas will fire everyone. as a fan i think they need to and will be disappointed if the don't.
  15. can you show me any excuses made in this thread? the question was how long it was going to take to close the competitive gap, and posters gave their answers. are you just looking to be an angry scotty again?
  16. that wasn't going to be sustainable. i know you don't agree, but this team was in a bad financial place. the plan is to sustain long term success. we'll draft and keep our own, while filling some gaps in fa. they're trying to establish an environment where the team is bigger than the player, and that there's maximum effort at every level. that's not what we had. if some fans don't think this is the staff to accomplish that, i can understand.
  17. it's a guess, but i'm assuming that's the case. i could see a scenario where the bills win 8/9 game and miss the playoffs. if that happens, but allen continues to improve, i'd want this staff back.
  18. really scott? after 17 years of not making the playoffs, no shake up was needed? and while you're at it, why don't you just act like getting a good coach and franchise qb is no biggie!
  19. i'm pretty much always looking for a reason to take xanax, so this will suffice.
  20. beane's moves made the roster "worse" to improve this team and make them a regular playoff contender. it starts with this off season. the bills have just existed as average for too long. a shake up was needed, and that's what we're getting. i have no idea if it's going to work, but i'm excited about our qb and some of the young pieces in place. i don't know why people are so flabbergasted by the way this year went. it's all unfortunately part of it.
  21. they really don't need to make the playoffs next year. it will be disappointing if the bills win 7, but i'm willing to be the pegulas would be more than happy to give this staff another year.
  22. this is exactly where i'm at with it as well. the core should be in place this up coming season, but i'd be surprised if they were hardcore competitors when it comes to the playoffs. they should be in the hunt, but i'm not expecting them. if allen continues to improve, and this team can shake those runs of blowouts, i'll be happy next year.
  23. please don't get me wrong. i love the old regime, but when andre's comments come of as that of another upset fan, he puts himself out there with us commoners...internet anger and all.
  24. I agree, but I was more referring to the nostalgia that surrounds that cast. I grew up with that team and loved every second of it. But when it comes to input with this current staff, the old guys need to let go. Even Bruce Smith was goongnon about not hiring Reich. Enough. They absolutely have the right to criticize the team, but be ready for some blow back. We all love them for what they’ve done, but now they’re fans like us.
