  1. Yeah that's a low blow bro Nobody would rather be in the Gaza strip than Buffalo... Even the east side isn't that bad if you don't cause problems
  2. Chance is a small forward... Who can't shoot from the wing... Is dubbed as a point forward but he doesn't have good enough handles... This guy was not Syracuse caliber 15 years ago
  3. I've only done that twice and I've been here my entire life
  4. Horns up 🤘🤘 This team is gritty... I remember when leipold was running roughshod on the Mac... Yet couldn't get it done the title game because of tough gritty teams that never gave up This team is not the most talented in the Mac... It's certainly might have the most heart Which in a league where the talent margin is very slim I'll take the heart
  5. Honestly I respect the brutally honest answer Some people might say that's a talking point to make the other team play better.. but he's just calling it like he sees it
  6. Yeah that's definitely not happening Is Hamlin my favorite player? No He certainly is an NFL caliber player and not a complete liability
  7. Schools don't make players.. there's literally eight quarterbacks drafted every year The fact one school can consistently recruit high school kids and get them to the NFL level is remarkable Who would ever draft a Michigan quarterback because they've been good for 120 years.. yet Tom Brady Who would ever draft an Ohio State quarterback, they've been good for 120 years.. yet CJ Stroud and even Joe burrow was at Ohio State It's a player thing not a school thing
  8. I really don't watch too much of Brandt but he has great energy and he brings good attention to the bills It seems like a fun modern football show if you like that
  9. Football is not rigid it's very fluid... Today yes spags is certainly the better coordinator I agree with you 5 years ago I don't know anybody in the football community who thoughts spags was way better So yes I'll concede to you spags is better now but three five seven years ago Frazier was very respected.. in 2019-22 he certainly was considered a top defensive coordinator And has built a lot of game plans with a hurt defense missing a lot of pieces... Historically over 20 years that's why I say it's really too hard to tell.. right now I'll give it to you spags is better But Bobby Babbich is certainly an up-and-coming defensive guy and who knows where his learning from McDermott can take him... He certainly has a bright future
  10. What he has mastered is lowering his pad level through the hole That change in his technique has made him fall forward and hit defenders instead of being hit cuz he was too high over his pads
  11. Rough game But to be fair Colgate has gone to four straight NCAA tournaments At least they are the studs of the Patriot League But yes , Syracuse does not dominate in state opponents like they used to I think the box score agrees
  12. This game is wild
  13. Rapp is only 26... And safety is a position where players grow exponentially with experience He's younger than Hyde when he got here same age as poyer... Poyer and Hyde were able to grow and play off each other.. rapp hasn't have that steady safety to learn with Maybe it can be rapp and Bishop for the next 3 or 4 years... Rapp has made a lot of big tackles this year, stop hitting our own people... He has a physical presence... I actually see good amount of room to grow He Keeps getting all the first team reps and now he's more comfortable.. McDermott's secondary calls are so complex Bishop getting hurt at training camp really hurt... Especially because they don't hit live during the season much Those reps are vital If Bishop can use his athleticism and learn to play within the system , he has the physical traits to be able to play free safety... Then him and rapp would be a pretty physical Duo
  14. There is not and he won't be Even dick who is the best pure coordinator went in as a player
  15. I can agree with that I don't think spags is bad by any measure, I just said I don't consider him a guru ... And historically his and Frazier's defenses are statistically the same You are right that he is in the right place at the right time and he's definitely got the mojo .. and he's taking his years of experience and he's putting a good product out there I 100% agree I certainly respect your opinion and I will just say that spags will not be in the Hall of Fame He's not in the dick labeau category There are no defensive coordinators in the Hall of Fame either even dick went in as a player There are no purely coordinators in the hall and he's not going to be the first Other than that I do understand and respect your opinion and he certainly is good
  16. Just because the bills don't beat the Chiefs in the playoffs doesn't mean he's better Spagnolo in his career has 5 defenses in the top 10 for yards.. he has six top 10 defenses in points Frazier has eight defensive teams in the top 10 for yards.. 4 for points Frazier has seven teams top 10 in takeaways, spags 4 Neither were great head coaches but Leslie Frazier was a better head coach with more wins and less losses.. We scored 30 on spags defense twice.. they scored 30 on our defense twice... Our defense also held them them to 20 twice Our defense is usually always banged up in the playoffs that's the problem.. and I know other teams are too but you can't consistently be without your best guys when it matters Neither are considered elite defensive gurus in the mold of Bill belichick... They're in the echelon of can build a really good defense And that's not a knock on spags who has his defense rolling... But he has years of defenses that without the pieces he doesn't look like a genius When he has the pieces yeah he calls a good really aggressive defense.. but that aggression can come against you too
  17. I don't think there's really much to say Every single person in the United States military today chose to serve And for that millions of people across the country are eternally grateful So they didn't have to... And we can be chatting on this message board where we can all have different opinions I come from a military family and had family serve in the revolution and after.. there's nothing I respect more than the men and women who serve this country and the ones who paid the ultimate sacrifice
  18. Thank you for your service
  19. When we drafted Bernard in the third 95% of his board said he's overdrafted His play as a rookie when he got on the field left a lot to be desired... He didn't look good when he saw the field So much so that in the off-season again 95% of this board did not feel comfortable with him as the starting middle linebacker... People thought that was our biggest question mark He did not look anything like a pro bowl linebacker in his snaps as a rookie... But that's because players get better with Repetition thank God.. as a back-up line backer even in practice you're doing scout teamwork mimicking the opposing teams defense , not perfecting your own But hindsight is 20/20 ... But 95% of this board was not comfortable with Bernard out the gate... The coaching staff was , this board was second guessing it... But it's because the coaching staff knows how to plug players into their system and get the most out of them.. Dodson looked good here... Our system is very linebacker friendly And Edmunds did go man to man over 30% of the time in his career here.. he would man up on running backs and occasional slot receivers when we disguised coverage I would much rather have Terrell Bernard , because his IQ is so high .. but Tremaine and Milano definitely played man coverage around 35%.. Milano would normally man up on tight ends , Tremaine would man up on running backs and occasional slot wide receivers in a bracket coverage... So he would only follow them if they cross face
  20. We didn't even retain our pro bowl middle linebacker... Who we drafted 15th overall Yet we re sign Ed Oliver... We are going to resign Greg... Signed von Miller 100 million contract... Even drafted guys like boogie in the second The bills were top five in sacks last year and are pushing top 10 this year.. a defensive line of Greg Rousseau and Oliver and AJ and von is not average.. even if it doesn't seem like they're taking over games every week ... NFL games are won in the trenches and we're 8-2 There's not 10 defensive lines better than ours McDermott has been here 8 years... Two safeties drafted.. one was the sixth round In his eight drafts he has two corners in the top three rounds .. including a trade so we'll say three But six defensive lineman in the top three And three linebackers in the top three Sean McDermott is a secondary guru who thinks he can get more with less at those spots Nobody in the world thought poyer or Hyde were all pros at their old teams... What Sean McDermott did was identify what they were good at and solely put them in good positions to succeed.. like he does with all of our secondary players.. that's why undrafted guys like Levi Wallace could start here for years and look good in the system But Levi Wallace can't play at that level around the league for other teams.. McDermott puts him in the best spot week in and week out McDermott values defensive line , linebacker , corner , safety We could plug in castaways from other teams or sixth round picks like Benford or dame Jackson and they play great because of McDermott scheme... Defensive line are either pushing people around or getting pushed around.. you can't mask that And our NFL best point differential over the last few years shows we win in the trenches
  21. McDermott's scheme wouldn't work as well if we didn't have the front seven , especially our eight-man defensive line rotation Even the best corners and safeties in the world can't cover for 5 seconds if your defense can't create pressure.. multiple D lineman in the first round multiple in the second Carter in the third.. signed von Miller to 100 million dollars and let Edmunds walk The d line is way more important to McDermott and he will scheme everything around that... If Anything our nickel corner taron Johnson makes the defense go... He provides so much and run and pass support he is invaluable Our two all pros at safety were free agents that their other teams didn't even want to re sign.. besides Bishop in the second round we haven't put a lot of early resources into safety ...
  22. Spagnola is not some super defensive genius He's had plenty of defenses that struggle.. he has great pieces all over his defense.. when they didn't have those pieces they're not that electric He's literally no different than Leslie Frazier... They run different schemes but they're success is basically the same.. when they have talent their defense is good when they don't have the talent they can struggle In fact when I went to Kansas City for the bills chief game couple years ago.. this just shows you how every fan base is alike Nobody and I mean nobody over there liked spagnola.. every single person said I wish we could trade Leslie Frazier for him Now fan appeal doesn't mean much... But the point stands that their own fans did not like him.. they didn't like the defense he ran and they didn't like his play calling Yet this board, think we don't beat the Chiefs because they have guys like spagnola , yet he's not belichick or parcells He has Chris Jones who is a Hall of Fame game wrecker that most teams can't block , with other good defensive lineman and linebackers and players Spagnola was literally one of the most inept head coaches of all time, he has a great team and a great organization.. he's not that special
  23. I forgot that post deadline vested veterans are also required Basically to stop them from forcing their release and just signing with a playoff team
  24. Ah yes post trade deadline they all have too Your right
  25. The line, the backs and Josh don't do a good job selling the screen game The offensive line and the backs need to sell it better and so does Josh There's a little more room for those outside jailbreak screens and shakir works really good in tight space .. teams also contain the edge against Josh which could also make it more difficult What they could implement is more of a old school middle screen
