  1. TE at 40 please Irv Smith Jr Then take RB in round 3 or 4
  2. Never apologize for being a Bills Fan ... that's ridiculous .... yes that last two decades (aka the Patriots reign) has not gone as many here wanted ... but at the end of the day .. .name another team that went to the Super Bowl 4 straight years ... when we win the Super Bowl it will be much sweeter because of the support (see Chicago Cubs in baseball) .. but hopefully not 100 years. At the start of every season .. we are tied for first place in the conference .. your work mate thinks we're tied for last. Glass half full / glass half empty .. you decide.
  3. Anything close to a franchise QB? WOW ... arguably the best rookie QB not named Baker ... 2 comebacks and 3 game winning drives .. see link ... with weak OL, no running game, with no TE and limited WRs. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AlleJo02.htm and please watch his walk off game at home vs. Miami.
  4. Beane scored a 2019 5th round pick this year (dead money last year aside) for a player already cut .. that's pretty good.
  5. I just watched his presser on buffalobills.com ... If you haven't watched do so ... this guy is well spoken, classy, defends Buffalo, and ready to take us to the next level. BRAVO BEANE!!! Might be time for a new jersey.
  6. I love Brandon Beane's press conference ... defending Buffalo .. he did everything but telling AB the famous two words from the legendary DX
  7. He's no John Dorsey (Cleveland GM) ... that dude ... on paper has revamped that entire roster from Hue Jackson's team that won ... 1 win for the entire 2016-2017 seasons. That franchise has struggled even more than ours ... so nice to see the changes there .. would love a pair of Lake Erie franchises to rise to the top and we beat them in an AFC Championship game (revenge from the 1989 playoff loss)
  8. Don' think you can assume top 16 picks like this ... under your scenario .. there would be no Kyle Williams or Matt Milano (5th round picks) ... or the assumption players like Mike Williams, Aaron Maybin, CJ Spiller, (top 16 picks by the Bills in the past) can't miss This hasn't worked yet for Zay Jones (though I'm rooting for him) as my daughter attends ECU and we saw him play quite a bit. Bottom line .. it's a combination ... I like what Beane is doing in Free Agency and I look just as much forward to what we do in the draft .. the draft class from 2018 and UDFA's (Wallace and Foster) show the talent evaluation of this team of college players ... TRUST THE PROCESS
  9. Love Bill Polian's comments in this clip from draft day and the Forrest Gump story .. watch this and you'll get a feel for this guy ... welcome Mongo!!
  10. Me likey this footage ... looks pretty solid against an elite rusher
  11. Not disagreeing .. but these projections don't bode well for a trade up to the Bills at #9 for a QB
  12. I agree year 1 was a disaster .. I also agree year 2 that a lot of stats were in garbage time .. but the kid had 399 catches at ECU ... not sure how that occurs if one struggles catching the ball ... I think he is overthinking things when his number is called and needs to breathe through his eyelids and let his natural talent take over. I look forward to his Year 3 (and year 2 with Josh). Preach Flip
  13. Dolphins reportedly expected to release ex-Pro Bowler Robert Quinn Vincent Frank, Sportsnaut 7 hrs ago 6.5 Sacks last year . .only 28 years old
  14. We may be expanding the definition of "elite" here .. Julius Thomas & Dallas Clark .. may owe their stats to a guy named Manning, see Bennett's stats below .. think "elite" is a stretch Year Age Tm Pos No. G GS Tgt Rec Yds Y/R TD Lng R/G Y/G Ctch% Rush Yds TD Lng Y/A Y/G A/G Touch Y/Tch YScm RRTD Fmb AV 2008 21 DAL fb/te 80 16 7 27 20 283 14.2 4 37 1.3 17.7 74.1% 20 14.2 283 4 0 2 2009 22 DAL te 80 14 6 30 15 159 10.6 0 21 1.1 11.4 50.0% 15 10.6 159 0 0 1 2010 23 DAL TE/wr 80 16 11 47 33 260 7.9 0 32 2.1 16.3 70.2% 33 7.9 260 0 1 2 2011 24 DAL te 80 14 7 26 17 144 8.5 0 15 1.2 10.3 65.4% 17 8.5 144 0 0 1 2012 25 NYG TE 85 16 16 89 55 626 11.4 5 33 3.4 39.1 61.8% 55 11.4 626 5 0 7 2013 26 CHI TE 83 16 15 94 65 759 11.7 5 43 4.1 47.4 69.1% 65 11.7 759 5 1 7 2014* 27 CHI TE 83 16 15 128 90 916 10.2 6 37 5.6 57.3 70.3% 90 10.2 916 6 0 7 2015 28 CHI TE 83 11 11 80 53 439 8.3 3 24 4.8 39.9 66.3% 53 8.3 439 3 2 4 2016 29 NWE TE 88 16 12 73 55 701 12.7 7 58 3.4 43.8 75.3% 2 10 0 6 5.0 0.6 0.1 57 12.5 711 7 0 7 2017 30 2TM 9 7 44 30 286 9.5 0
  15. IMO ... TE's typically require more time to get open .. than 3 step drops and slants to WR's .. so if you don't have an OL to allow for such time .. the TE impact is potentially mitigated. Plus the OL IMO provides more help not only for Josh but the running game.
  16. Hey he's still collecting paychecks in the NFL ... vs. Johnny Manziel drafted same round a year later
  17. I agree with the thread .. but someone please name me a "gamechanger" 1st round TE since I don't know (went back 5 years) .. my point is ... I'm not anti Hockerson or addressing the position .. but just not in the first 2 rounds .. get him OL and/or WR. Recent TE Draft History 2018 - Hayden Hurst .. Game changer think not 2017 - Quite the run .. but are we saying Engram (who has OBJ pulling coverage), Njoku, Howard (Mike Evans pulling coverage) are "gamechangers" ... noting Tre White was picked after 2 of those and just before Njoku .. think he's had more impact ... my point we don't have the WR two of these TE's have so a standalone TE doesn't greatly influence a game. 2016 - None Picked 2015 - None Picked 2014 - Ebron
  18. LT - Dion Dawkins LG - Wyatt Teller C - Garrett Bradbury / Ross Persinger (3rd/4th round Pick) RG - Dalton Risner (2nd Round Pick) RT - Darryl Williams FA (Carolina) Reserves: G/C - Spencer Long G - Another Rookie Pick T - Jordan Mills
  19. Another great read this AM .. so let me take a crack at this ... I'll say Blue Collar and "Small Market" are interchangeable as someone referenced all the steel mills are gone nowadays. We are the underdog vs. the big budget larger market teams ... we play outdoors in the elements in December like football was intended vs. climate controlled domes. I'd also say given the economy (though improving) of Buffalo vs. other NFL towns our average Season Ticket Holder may .. just maybe have a lower annual income than other larger NFL markets .. nothing wrong with that .. but maybe that's a better measure of the new "blue collar" in today's world. Bottom line ... its the best fanbase in football ... and as such though the new self proclaimed "Mr. Big Chest" has talent ... some on this board may not like his style. But he's looking to cash in one last time and I believe on the downside and do we want to pay up at this stage of his career. If you can't stand the Buffalo franchises .. why are you on this board? Good to know that all of us Buffalo fans ... have a "loser mentality baked into everything we do" ... sorry I don't buy into the Charlie Sheen mentality that you obviously have
  20. Appears some need to But I did learn what a "strawman" argument is after reading this thread
  21. First time to have this occur and I apologize to all those that read this that we actually received Leonard Fournette .. granted not as experienced as others .. but did this warrant being quarantined? I love this forum ... but the administrators .. stopped the thread ... smh. [Misleading Title] NFL Network David Carr 3 Team Trade we get Fournette
  22. Pass on ASJ .. and give me ISJ .... aka Irv Smith Jr from Alabama
