  1. Tolbert is on social security .. .he played down here for the Panthers (I live in NC) .. the tread is way old .. I think McDermott pulled him for character and since he was in the program .. I'm with you on J Will . . but with his ankle issue in the past .. I prefer to have someone who can take the rock if we have a long term injury .. he didn't show a ton last year when given the chance .. so throw a 5th rounder out there ... we already see what happens when you have no WR's. Let's not make the same mistake at RB.
  2. This has been an interesting thread to read ... I do believe in due process ... but I'm surprised how some on this thread believe that he had a shot at appeal. Does anyone think he didn't kill Lloyd?? Someone else posted ... if someone has a life sentence to give them the option to suicide ... that's an interesting take ... I'm not a fan of tax dollars supporting these offenders in perpetuity .. if they want to "escape" their reality.
  3. Can't be a small dude .. we need the goal line banger / short yardage pile mover ... opposite of what Shady brings .. the Thunder/Lightning we've done in years past ... Foreman and McNichols is intriguing given other skills .. but if not 210 lbs or above ... no thanks
  4. I live in NC ... I don't think Trubisky has enough experience ... he's a Bortles clone to me .... its funny but week before the draft both on NFL network and ESPN ... the talking heads are all jumping on the Mahomes bandwagon ... apparently the arm is unmatched in the draft ... I struggle ... as his teams weren't winning teams ... I'll sit back for kid from USC next year .. if we screw up this year. I'd rather us go in other direction and avoid taking one of these guys at 10. The quality QB's come from the 3rd and 4th rounds of late ... see history of Wilson, Prescott, and Cousins. So look at the QB's from Pitt, Tennessee and have them battle Yates or Jones. I'd like to see Cardale with another summer camp ... I think his arm is good enough for this league.
  5. Anyone with Initials in lieu of a full first name CJ Spiller EJ Manuel Or One Year Wonders Aaron Maybin
  6. Bad guy ... going to a bad place ... took the easy way out.
  7. At least unlike when they got Hogan ... we get a pick back on this one (granted 5th round .. we could of made it hurt more .. with better round tender .. but would of cost us more salary) ... I am in agreement with others ... although I like MG ...he was last season's Carlos Williams .... I think he's interchangeable .... losing MG is not like when we let Lynch go to Seattle for nothing years ago ... I want picks for this new regime under Coach M ... and Jonathan Williams tape from college was impressive ... and he was only one year removed from big time ankle injury .... hopefully he's better in '17. GO BILLS .... draft day coming soon! We are undefeated as we speak!!!
  8. Adams ---- a leader for the secondary for years to come . .but won't be there Thomas --- all you have to do is watch Rose Bowl highlights and given Dareus' recent history and Kyle's age .. need DL help .. but he won't be there either I believe. OJ Howard ---- although 1st round TE's virtually never pan out (see Ebron for recent history) ... too much not to roll the bones .... Regardless .. as Joe B has stated in prior articles ... please draft Zay Jones WR East Carolina (yes we hired there WR coach .. hint hint) .. .in round 2 ... my daughter goes there and caught a lot of their games .. he will help Watkins. No QB till 3rd round or later (apparently 3rd round or 4th round) is where you draft NFL caliber starting QB's ... see Russell Wilson (3rd) and Dak Prescott & Kirk Cousins (round 4).
  9. Yes this is a tough call .... but you can't kill your cap for mediocrity ... drafting in the top 15 for 8 of the last 12 years (not counting the lost 1st pick on Watkins trade) with only one top 5 pick (net of aforementioned Watkins trade up to 4) of which we chose Dareus ... isn't moving the can we win in our own division needle. My point is the Dennison offensive has worked with mediocre QB play (end of Manning, Simeon) with Houston (Schaub, TJ Yates, Case Keenum) .. they have good defenses and strong running games, and a premier wideouts (Andre Johnson, Demarius Thomas). I drank the Tyrod kool aid early, but as other post show ... he can't put the team on his back and deliver the comeback in the 4th quarter. Stock the defense, pair (knock on wood) finally a healthy Sammie and with WR Zay Jones (as Joe B's article yesterday in his mock draft in round 2). If Tyrod doesn't resign with a massive pay cut ... let him go and maybe look at Watson at #10 or TRADE BACK ... please ... let's learn something from Bill B .. and go back in the draft if we are not sold ... someone will pay up to get to #10. New England's dominance aside .... our issue is not winning in the division ... NE dominance aside .. we have been 3rd or 4th (or lower when 5 teams) in 15 of the past 17 seasons ... I'm am tired on not kicking Miami and Jets consistently.
  10. Don't mistake post count for "casual fan" ... I put out hard stats and you still want Cleveland's roster? I believe I'm landing on your stance on Tyrod .. my issue is the comparison to Cleveland. Plus .. granted they overhauled the GM position ... but Cleveland draft pedigree vs. Buffalo ... can you say Manziel .. can you say Pitt DB Justin Gilbert in top 10 .. Not a rex fan ... but I'll take an injured Shaq and Ragland over those bums. Trent Richardson / Brandon Weedon both 1st rounders in 2012. Please
  11. Granted significantly less post count than the two debating this topic ... but WOOAHHH on putting us closer to Cleveland talent wise .... On the offensive side .. #1 rushing offense in the league with Shady and Gilleslee ... the OL rank is 11th in the article below (NE is 10 and Cleveland is 16 which surprised me) ... Top 10 in points per game based on 2016 stats and Cleveland was #31 .... Defense was not great as we all know, but that's a function of Rex debacle and Marcel's stupidity ... but please ... do not put us in the same sentence as Cleveland. However on the Tyrod Topic associated with this thread .... if you can't pull the game out in the fourth quarter and lead the team to victory ... you keep searching and spend your money elsewhere ... you pay that kind of money for incremental Wins ... that hasn't occurred. 11. Buffalo Bills (10)Top overall grade: LG Richie Incognito, 87.2 (No. 5) Top pass-blocking grade: LG Richie Incognito, 88.8 (tied for No. 7) Top run-blocking grade: LG Richie Incognito, 84.0 (tied for No. 7) If Buffalo could find an answer to their right tackle issue, this line would vault up the rankings in an instant. Jordan Mills surrendered eight sacks and 57 total QB pressures over 596 pass-blocking snaps this season, fourth-most of any tackle in the game. The play of RG John Miller inside of Mills didn’t help much when it comes to pass blocking, either, giving the Bills a real issue on the right side of the line. Miller allowed four sacks and 33 total QB pressures, but did at least offset that with some strong run blocking. The left side of the line was far better, with LT Cordy Glenn allowing only one sack in 397 pass-blocking snaps before injury sidelined him, and Cyrus Kouandjio surrendering only one sack as his replacement. LG Richie Incognito was again the best player on this line, run blocking and pass blocking well over the year, backing up his strong performance from a season ago with another excellent campaign. https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-ranking-all-32-nfl-offensive-lines-this-season/
  12. If you want a recent alumni list ... just pull Whaley draft picks the past few years or Buddy's ... Terrell Troupe anyone?
  13. Appears Texas Tech and Rex Ryan Bills had similar defensive lapses ... but bottom line .... look at Texas Tech's record .... not a winning record past 3 years .... I'll take QB's who were winners in college ... i.e - Dak at Miss St won 9 games and 10 games last two years in college ... Russell Wilson transferred to Wisconsin and took them to a bowl game in one year (both not 1st round picks) ... don't blow #10 pick on a project ... Cardale came from winning program. We need a QB with leadership / winning skills .. again my problem with Tyrod is limited to no 4th QB comebacks which frankly was the difference between making playoffs and not the last two years ... looking at Texas Tech's record and lack of wins it appears Mahomes may have similar issue leadership wise to pull out the victory. Pass
  14. I was sold on Tyrod initially, but after two years of watching "swing games" completely agree with this statement ... you pay big money for a guy the team believes can pull the game out for you. Tyrod has not proven he can do this remotely consistently. I can't believe I'm typing this ... but of all the guys on this well written overview of options .... AARRGGGHHHH .... Cutler ,,, only if reasonable contract?? I'll take a few INT's if we can stretch the field .... 12 INT's in two years for Tyrod is another dink/dunk QB. You may recall, another former Bears QB (and of many other teams before the Bills) Orton brought us 9 wins a few years ago ... Tyrod with better offensive weapons (granted D sucked under Rex) has not delivered in the clutch. Don't reach at #10 for a QB ... take sure fire playmaker ... given the Russell Wilson's / Dak Prescott beyond Round 1 in recent history ... let's wait. Remember Goff last year ... UGGGHHH.
  15. Please no retreads .... let's look at Bledsoe, Orton (give him credit though), Fitzpatrick (liked his toughness). All that is .. is missing the playoffs ... the reality is outside Manning last year asthe outlier with the Broncos, recent SB history shows whether it's Brady(enough all ready), Big Ben(2), Wilson, Flacco, Eli (2), Rodgers, Manning (colts) ... FA pick ups based on odds typically don't bring Super Bowls .. all due respect to Jim Plunkett & Trent Dilfer,
  16. Dwarfs aside ... the ECU WR coach now Bills WR coach ...take a look at Zay Jones .. WR ECU in this year's draft ... set records .. .would like to see the Bills take a look at him.
  17. Trading up is not our forte .. .i.e. -- Watkins ... none of these QB's is a trade up from 10 candidate ... looks at the history of top 10 qb busts ... let's not jeopardize future drafts by moving up .... if nothing as Papazoid says .. .look at the teams that trade down .. .typically they are the ones in the playoffs ... where was all the Dak Prescott hype in the first round last year .... where was the Russell Wilson 1st round hype when he got drafted .... none existed ... I know all we have to look forward to at this stage is draft day ... but don't drink the QB kool aid. I.E. --- see the LA Rams and Goff and what they gave up.
  18. Agree with Atbillsfan1975 ... Let me get this straight .. we haven't been in the playoffs in 17 years and we're throwing stones at Andy Reid and what he's done at Philly and at KC ... look at that roster ... I know we all want Super Bowl ... but goodness ... how do you bash a guy with that playoff pedigree.
  19. I'm with Joe on this one ... I am so tired of Bills QBs with limp arms and dink and dunk ... yes he needs time / accuracy .. but he did stretch the jets D when he played ... you can't even put him in Tuel in the same discussion ... granted the WR injuries didn't help Tyrod in '16 ... but only 12 picks in 2 years ... that's playing not to lose the game. When Tyrod does go deep, he drops in a nice ball ... but what I'm wanting is 20 yard outs where the ball is out before the receiver cuts ... we haven't had that forever.
  20. My hope is McDermott has more Jim Johnson in him as well .... not just a Rivera. "It was around 1994 or 1995, when I was with the Colts, and we were playing against San Francisco with Steve Young running the West Coast offense, releasing receivers all the time, guys getting by you. The idea was don't let these people dictate to you. You have to put more pressure [on the quarterback], and every year we tried to figure out how to do that." From 2000–07, Johnson's units rank tied for first in the NFL with 342 sacks, second in the league in 3rd down efficiency (34.3%) and red zone touchdown percentage (43.0%), and fourth in fewest points allowed (17.6 per game). — Jim Johnson, describing the origin of his defensive philosophy.
  21. First post on this wall after years of reading ... as you can tell from my name .. been around the Bills for a while .. I'm tired of the past quarterbacks who couldn't throw deep. On occasion Tyrod has shown that. Bottom line in my opinion, Rex and the OC Roman/Lynn put the clamps on him ... not to lose the game .. just look at the INT's ... 12 in 2 years ... REALLY .... that's not taking shots downfield or hitting short windows ...that's dink and dunk. Let's get some healthy WR's stretch the field and let her rip. Imagine the run game if the passing game actually stretched the field. Go Bills ... Looking forward to the Draft .. .another top pick for Whaley ... let's see what happens with the new regime in 2017 ... I'm in NC .. lot of good press on McDermott ... hope he brings the long missing "culture" we've lacked. And no to Foles .. he was a one year wonderkind courtesy of Chip Kelly offense that it took the NFL to adjust to .. once it did .. he hit the fan.
