  1. Looks like a 4th rounder from Kutztown state ,, who was 6' 2" (same height as Zay) and ran smooth routes with great hands .. had (4) 1,000 yard receiving seasons as a Buffalo Bill (granted much better QB) .... we can only hope.
  2. 26 CB ... as it relates to Nate .. when Bandit references the last two years of Tyrod .. what else is at my disposal .. its not like Nate has 3 years in the NFL ... the only point is we are seeing some positives in Nate's work and if no one has watched it .... just youtube the Clemson game (#2 in the nation at the time) in what is a very hostile environment ..the kid rocked it. You can't take that away from him. See above ... my only other question .. Bandit ... vs. the spectrum of today's NFL QB's ... your down in the 4th quarter ... you need to win the game ... where would you rank Tyrod. For me .. he's in the bottom half of the league ... his 4th quarter stats clearly show this ... my point is .. if he can't lead the team back (with play or leadership/inspiration) .. say what you will about Brady .. but he doesn't let his guys screw up ... I say we keep looking to improve the position. So as an olive branch .. yes TODAY ... Tyrod is better than Nate due to his NFL experience..but we know his ceiling .. since this is likely (unfortunately) a non playoff year ... why don't we test drive another option .. so we know what we have for the 2018 draft .. we know what we have in Tyrod.
  3. Bandit .. I took your challenge and quoted pre=season stats ...now your flipping the discussion back to Tyrod's 29 games ... your quoting offensive stats but thats run oriented .. yes as established by head coach and OC .. and Tyrod pads those stats as well with his legs .. so help me with how Tyrod has in his two years has helped us find out about our "playmakers" in the WR / TE position ... do you really think they played a lot of nickel/dime coverage on 1st and 2nd downs against us the last two years? My only point is we would all agree after all these years we are mediocre at best ... if you want to use the same ingredients and be mediocre again ... we can start with Tyrod ... but if he goes 2-3 games with a 27 rating ... then my preference is .. throw in the Rook and hopefully get more of a passing threat in the game. But if you want to look into 2016 stats .. I'll take Nate Peterman stat line last year .. AT CLEMSON ... 22-37 .. 308 Yards ... 5 TDs .. zero INTs .. in the biggest road game for him on the year hostile environment ... that's one game .. Tyrod's 2016 Road Game TD total for 2016 .... 5. Yep 5 (granted he had 3 rushing TD's in those games) .. but that's what we have RB's for.
  4. Does this thread fall under the heading of "fake news"?
  5. OK ... I'll play the game as well .. preseason only Completion Percentage - Tyrod 48% ... Nate 50% .. not much difference but numerically better (but the repeated 3rd string argument offsets for some) Interceptions - Tyrod 2 / Nate 0 ... and Nate has 68 attempts vs. Tyrod's 29 % of passes for 1st Downs ... Tyrod - 13.8% / Nate 23.5% QB Rating - Tyrod 27.9 / Nate 71.4 Non Stat related ... I'll trade the long ball that Tyrod has (call it two to three plays a game) for a guy that has better touch .. he's (Nate) dropped the ball right in to Zay Jones a few times on sideline throws ... hit tight ends on seam routes ... hits the short throws on the tree and has surprised with scrambling ... my point is ..we know Tyrod's ceiling after 6 years in the league ... we're not going to do much this year (unfortunately) .. why not give Nate a shot to gain more experience ... the short term view has potential for improvement. I've repeated this in past posts .. my issue with Tyrod is lack of 4th quarter comebacks ... given our record over the last two years he's had plenty of opportunities ...let's give the kid a chance ... at worst it's the difference between 9-7 (no playoffs) and 5-11 (better draft position).
  6. Amen .... last week it was all about facing the 3's ... now not good enough vs. the two's ... I like the progression of what I'm seeing ... yes he needs to work on accuracy when under pressure but I'm not regretting spending our second pick of the 5th round at this stage on Nate
  7. Wow ... I agree ... lighten up Francis's (Scott Law and Canadian Fan) ... I'll take that post BillsFan4's light hearted pic post vs. Canadian's Thread that asked others .. which team they were going to watch in 2018 since the bills made the moves they did then he landed on the NFC East ... now my Sigmund analysis of that is Canadian thread is he has commitment issues ... Scott Law ... allow me to submit Exhibit A .. Sammy's injuries ... all BillsFan4 was trying with Exhibit B ... the picture you "objected to" was provide additional protection to prevent future injury ... your objection is overruled ....
  8. I'm just struggling with any attempt to indicate TT is close to Rodgers in any facet
  9. There's nothing wrong with a little Irish in the AM
  10. Hey Hokie .. hopefully this link will cover Looks like Greg and Colin aren't TT fans either .. say that's why Sammy has underachieved ... Ouch. https://youtu.be/s5X-3KvmGGM
  11. Same reply ... Rodgers and the Packers are an offensive juggernaut ... if you score 31 points a game the last three years you don't need many comebacks ... contrary .. Detroit has averaged 17 points in same 3 seasons and Stafford had 8 last year ... so if you're saying Rodgers and TT are close .. then I'll gladly take Rodgers. 3 comebacks in 6 years should say it all. Same as the illustrious QB's . .Weeden, Ponder, Manuel, Keenan, Gabbert, Flynn. Yep that's good company. We have to get to 28,000 somehow John
  12. Wow Hokie .. I got a double reply .. .well let's take Rodgers first .. how many times has GB been behind being the offensive juggernaut they have been ... Green Bay 31 points per game last three years ... Detroit 17 ... wow can't imagine how Stafford would have more comeback opportunities ... please. I don't necessarily disagree on your defense . .but Buffalo has averaged 24 points and Tyrod is not good in the 4th quarter .. please just let the stats speak. Brady has 30+ 4th quarter comebacks. Top Game winning drives .. read this list .. Marino, Brady, Manning, Farve, Elway, Brees .. you're right ..it's a terrible barometer for QBs. Quit sticking up for an alum and face the facts. He's not bad .. he's servicable, but he cant' get us to the next level. Yes I reposted as I never saw it and multiple boards that are active were talking Tyrod ... let me check those next and see if anyone had something of substance to say net of your replies.
  13. Just click this link https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/comebacks_active.htm (2) 4th quarter comebacks in his career ... he and Yates have something in common ... think this says it all ... I was rooting for Tyrod ... but this stat shows why its time to move on. In these situations a QB needs to lead the team down the field and make chicken salad out of chicken #*%&. Check out all the other QB's ahead of him .. with our record the last few years .. there should be more than 2. And this was with the much heralded Sammy W (when he was on the field).
  14. I just posted this on another thread ... check out this stat .. but to your point of being 500 .. there have been many chances for 4th quarter comebacks https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/comebacks_active.htm Tyrod for his career .. yes career only has (2) 4th quarter comebacks .. Dak doubled this up last year in his first year in the league ... I think McBeane is looking to move on from mediocre 500 or less football ... I'm not a Tyrod hater ... but expected him to do more with the starting reigns after years holding the clipboard in Baltimore ... 44% completion percentage in 4th quarter last year in the 4th quarter within 7 points ... time to rebuild. I am glad the 4-3 defense is back ... but have faith in the new regime and plan .. this year might be slightly worse ... short term pain ... long term gain.
  15. Maybe he's a pro bowler because other QB's are still in the playoffs or opted not to play?? If I see Tyrod lead 4th quarter comebacks this year ... I'll change my tune ... those haven't occurred. In 2016 per NFL situational stats ... in 4th quarter within 7 points .. 44% completion percentage, 3 TDs, 2 Ints, 65.8 Rating Conversely ... Kirk Cousins a 4th round pick (Peterman analogy) ... same year .. 62% completion, 4 TDs, 2 INTs, 94% Rating Dak Prescott ..last year .. a rookie 4th rounder had 5 ... yes 5 .. 4th quarter comebacks. Tyrod in his career ... yes career ... get ready .. 2. With our record ..he's had plenty of comeback opportunities .. the last few years. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/comebacks_active.htm
  16. Agreed Old School .... crawl ... walk ... run ... he's at the crawl stage ... and many think that's the extent of his talent level in the NFL .. clipboard holder. My memory of Johnny football was thank goodness he had Mike Evans .. he'd heave the ball high in the air .. and it was Mike Evans who saved him by going up and getting it ... that aside ... the antics should of shown he couldn't be a leader and that's one of the most critical functions of that position.
  17. C'mon man .. my point is they have access to more film, more detail on the players, face to face interviews ... on site player evaluations / interviews .. .etc and then make a conscious decision to draft the player. Speaking for me .. I don't have access to that stuff so yes ... we're at 30,000 feet vs. face to face.
  18. Let's not misinterpret ... we have been in dire need of a QB since Kelly .. the rotating door of QB's would show that ... My point was if we're not top 2 or top 3 to pick and "get our guy" .. recent history would appear to indicate a high percentage bust ... are we willing to give up the draft capital (ala what we gave up to draft Sammy at 4) .. because to move up to those slots you'll have to give up a 2019 #1 and then some ... look at past trades by others to move to those slots ... do the guys 2018 potential draft QB's shown warrant that investment?
  19. Accuracy I agree on ... but I did like some of the touch throws ... I just think accuracy will improve as he gets use to the speed and the windows ... word is he can anticipate and did like his scrambles when the pocket broke down .. so we'll see as his experience grows.
  20. Gunner your opinion is widely respected on this board and I appreciate your feedback ... what's your take on the 2018 QB class ... who do you like?
  21. No stick to the Argonauts or Rough Riders ... holy crap ... why are you on this board??
  22. Good call 26 I will concede on Glenn ... not sure to 5 or not ... but yes he resigned ... Hughes .. we traded for and resurrected his career as well as what we did for Incognito .. so I give those guys props as they probably gave us a hometown discount (same with Alexander this year) as we put them in an environment to thrive.
  23. So you're a veteran on this board ... with all those posts ... doesn't it show you continue to support this "inept organization" ... why continue to monitor this board ... Please name me a Top 5 player in position who was a draft pick of ours (except maybe Dareus when he decides to play and Williams two DT's) who stayed in Buffalo come free agency or went elsewhere and took the money and ran to another team. Don't get me wrong .. there is Freedom of speech .. I'm speaking mine ..but my INCREDIBLY INACCURATE ASSUMPTION was based on ... and not saying these guys were top 5 in position ... but were free agent losses Gilmore, Byrd, Levitre, Whitner .. .etc etc etc.
