  1. I agree, but it is a 2-way street. Good GMs build their rosters at least in part so their OCs have the best chance at success. Getting Howard shows Beane wanted to upgrade TE2 in Dorsey's first year as OC. Dorsey's preference for a heavy-use of 2 TE sets is well-documented. Do not get me wrong - I want to avoid taking the ball out of the hands of guys like McKenzie, Cook, and Shakir.
  2. I agree, but I thought Dorsey's offense was supposed to feature more 2 TE sets.
  3. Sure, but I think Moss is a decidedly better HB than Ford is OG so could see him netting a 5th/6th.
  4. I doubt it too but Beane did get the 65th overall pick for Tyrod Taylor. Is Ford who netted a 5th better at OL than Moss is at HB?
  5. Plus he was in Super Bowl LIV
  6. Rams are the easy choice, but I would not be shocked if the 49ers or Cardinals pill it off. 49ers beat the Rams twice last year and Shanahan is a good coach. Cardinals split with the Rams only losing by a TD last year and the addition of Brown at WR (not to mention Ford at OG) could really open up that offense.
  7. This is real life not Star Wars
  8. Total D-Bag. I agree that this only makes his client look less credible.
  9. I agree and doubt any carding took place. Although many high schoolers do have fake IDs. But mostly his defense would be based on eyewitness affidavits swearing she said she was of age and not drunk. So long as those aren’t hearsay. This is of course without considering whatever will be made of the blood and bruises part. That is wack and could be very bad.
  10. My reason for thinking it will settle quickly is not what I posted about the legal defenses. That was just for a general FYI. These things just sadly tend to get fairly easily resolved and/or underpunished.
  11. We know both safeties and nickel corner are set. Dane Jackson is no slouch. We just need him plus the 2 draft picks to not be abysmal at outside corner for a few games.
  12. I’d be shocked if this isn’t quickly settled with the season so close. Also: ”Defenses To Statutory Rape Under CPC §261.5 The two basic defenses to a conviction under California's Penal Code §261.5 are: You Didn't Have Sexual Intercourse With The Minor Example: Twenty-three-year old Defendant Darnell is attracted to his neighbor's seventeen-year old daughter, Victim Vicki. Darnell makes a pass at Vicki but she rejects him. Darnell, embarrassed, tells friends at a local tavern that he had sex with Vicki anyway. Bartender overhears Darnell's story and calls Vicki's parents. The parents report Darnell for Statutory Rape. Darnell is arrested and charged under CPC §§261.5(a) and (c). Should Darnell be convicted of the crime? Conclusion: While Darnell may have attempted to develop a relationship with Vicki, he didn't succeed. He then lied about it rather than admit the truth. Therefore, while Darnell did not behave at all well, he can't be convicted of Statutory Rape because he actually didn't have sexual intercourse with the minor. You Honestly, Reasonably Didn't Think The Minor Was Under Eighteen Example: Seventeen-year old Victim Vernon takes his very realistic-looking fake driver's license to a bar, where he meets twenty-one-year old Defendant Don. Vernon uses his illegal license to buy several alcoholic drinks for Don and for himself. He tells Don that he's a twenty-two-year-old college student (which his license seems to confirm) and that he wants to take Don back to his apartment but can't because he lives with other students. Don invites Vernon back to Don's apartment. They have sex and Vernon leaves. Don, however, is shocked to be arrested for violating CPC §§261.5(a) and (c) after Vernon goes home and admits to his parents what happened. Don says he honestly didn't think Vernon was under eighteen and doesn't see why he should've thought otherwise. Should Don be convicted? Conclusion: Don had sexual intercourse with someone who wasn't his spouse. Vernon wasn't eighteen when he had sex with Don. Vernon, however, used an expensive false identification card to represent himself as being a legal adult. He then bought alcohol several times for Don and himself and represented that he was a college student with roommates, which would reasonably explain why Vernon wouldn't take Don to his own home (where, of course, Vernon's parents would actually await his return). Vernon, therefore, repeatedly represented through words and acts that he was old enough to have sex with Don and presented physical evidence to prove it. Since Don could honestly and reasonably believe that Vernon was years older than eighteen under the circumstances, Don shouldn't be convicted of Statutory Rape.” Source: https://www.kannlawoffice.com/statutory-rape.html

  21. Always considered Cleveland a type of sister city to Buffalo. One of my best friends from college is from Cleveland and a big part of why we became friends was a mutual understanding of how miserable it was to be a fan of our cities’ sports teams. (James left for the Heat our freshman year.) Anyways, safe travels and Go Bills!
