  1. How about a read-option?
  2. I hope we see more Cadet. Why is it that pretty much every other team has 2-3 viable HBs? The line has been horrible, I agree. Juan Castillo is to our OL as Rex Ryan (and Sean McDermott? ugh...) is to our defense. Why change the scheme of the OL that boasted last year's top rushing attack? "Defend out dirt" . . . psh . . . how about a sign up at OBD that says "If it ain't broke..."
  3. I place more blame on how the staff has tried to use Tolbert, than I do on Tolbert. He has been relatively effective between the tackles. He is an above average downhill HB. Why Dennison keeps throwing him toss plays and screens is beyond me.
  4. Not sure Taylor's problem has been strip sacks. I like a more aggressive version of the QB who most complain is not aggressive enough. Plus, that's like someone saying "so-and-so HB or WR looked like he was playing more aggressive last week" and getting a response "yeah, but he fumbled."
  5. Anyone else think that Taylor seemed to have a little fire lit underneath him when he came in to replace Peterman? Felt like I saw some extra zip on a couple throws.
  6. I know what I'm thankful for this year.
  7. That is good news. It only takes one. Right now, I think Dawkins is our most consistent OL if considering availability and ability. Leggo my Eggos.
  8. I subscribe to BPA, but will find it tough not to be pissed if there are no OL taken with one of those top 5 picks in April.
  9. Our football czar's name is Sean McDermott.
  10. Right? The fact that it came as our rookie QB, making his debut, completed a nice play action strike up the gut for, what, 15 yards down the middle, only to have the new WR1 he displays a rapport with immediately go down, probably for the rest of the season... does it get more Billsy than that?
  11. ^ As an ND homer, would not mind Atkinson. Real good speed and holds ND kickoff return records. I've been pounding the table for Hillman though. Picked up 863 yards, 7 TDs, 4.2 YPC in 2015 with Dennison.
  12. If the DL coach is Waufle, then the OL coach should be, fittingly. . . Pancake?
  13. I think it is less Tolbert's ability and more the way Dennison insists on using him. I like Tolbert as a thunder to McCoy's lightning. It just makes no sense to throw tosses, quick screens, and short dump-offs designed for YAC to your thunder guy. Run him between the tackles. Let the Toldozer get downhill. All that said... we could use another HB.
  14. Was very close to choosing the Jags for my survivor pick this week, but that bit of information may send me back to the drawing board. Thank you.
  15. I mean, were Hoyer, Glennon, and Fitz not all-but-handed their starting positions? I expect a team to sign Taylor as competition in the QB position, not to hand him a starting job. That said, I would not be surprised if it did go up a little bit, just as all the figures do every year. Still, $8-9M/year would not be a surprise.
  16. Anyone else shocked seeing a picture of a brain being held after reading a headline with "living patient"?
  17. I don't mind the mindset of each position is 1/11 of the team, so when one of your 1/11's is producing less than needed - regardless of the other 11 - you make the move to improve that 1/11 if you can. Now, the other 11, the defense, should also be getting mixed up. And they have. Worthy out, Thornton in. Milano seemingly taking over some more snaps. What still boggles my mind is that there is no OG out there better than Ducasse. But I do not mind the QB switch. Gotta take this version of OBD at their word this early in their regime that the move really is to win now. I like that Taylor takes care of the football. I also do not think there is a whole lot of a difference between Taylor not taking a chance and the offense having to punt and Peterman taking a chance and throwing a pick. Either way, we're giving the opposition the ball back - but only one of them has the chance for making a play before that happens.
  18. Made me think of what was said on WGR this morning: if we make the playoffs after McDermott switches to Peterman, then he's gotta be right in the thick of things for CotY.
  19. Not to mention the value of choosing where he can go and be less likely to haunt you.
  20. 197 passing yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, 43 rushing yards, 1 fumble, 3 sacks
  21. Yes, that appears to be true. He also was handed GM powers (final 53) when he first got there, and at that time was the third coach to have such powers (Belichick & Carroll being the other 2).
  22. The only one that comes to mind, unfortunately, is the Chip Kelly Eagles FO.
  23. I feel like that's his current cap hit, so I'd put him more at the $8M area. Then again, QB prices go up every year...
  24. Regardless, doubtful Taylor gets starter's money wherever he goes.
  25. Bubkis has familiarity in the system and all the intangibles in the world, but also a noodle arm, cannot not throw his receivers open, and does not pass the eye test.
