Bills fans buying up playoff tickets
JohnBonhamRocks replied to Seanbillsfan2206's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have a feeling there'll be a lot of blue and red in that stadium on game day. It's also nice to know that we just have an objectively better fanbase. -
We should Sign Fred Jackson
JohnBonhamRocks replied to clearwater cadet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would I love it if it happened? Yes. More likely and logically, we should sign Banyard or really coax DeAngelo Williams. Hopefully Shady can just go and tears up the Jax D. -
Would rather have to search for a replacement RT, which given Mills' poor play we would need to do regardless, than keep searching for a franchise QB.

ESPN predicts Alex Smith as starting Bills QB in 2018.
JohnBonhamRocks replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, especially. Not against Smith either and also do not think any QB we bring in (even Cousins) should preclude OBD from drafting at least one QB. -

I'm higher on TT than I am on Dennison. Taylor has at least shown flashes and has top-notch athletic ability and leadership qualities. Dennison scares me because of his lack of adaptability. I would not mind keeping TT to help groom our quality "young" QB prospect and teach him how to protect the football, as well as how to be a leader. Then, when the new QB is ready to take the reigns, we have the best back-up, wildcat, filthy rich man's Joe Webb-type of QB in TT, and are either (a) still spending the same as everyone else at the QB position or (b) closing in on a deal for draft picks to send TT to a desperate team. -

Not against bringing in Smith. Also not against keeping Taylor. Because either way we should be trading up to secure a QB we think is our next guy. And either veteran is a QB who plays smart, protects the football, and can pass on some great intangibles and leadership qualities. -

Most important part is the last sentence: "...if the team intends to commit to offensive coordinator Rick Dennison." -
Bills do worse in 2nd matchup vs the Patriots
JohnBonhamRocks replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is certainly troublesome having the feeling your OC cannot/will not adjust his system to his players, specifically to: (1) Taylor's strengths and (2) the run game, which as of late has shown to have more success with the power blocking than zone blocking. -

Nice work. Given the disparity between our 1st half and 2nd half play, as well as between our 1st and 2nd games against the Jets, with both indicating a worse Bills product on the field in the 2nd showing, I tend to think McDermott as of now is not a great adjustment maker. Regardless, let's break the cycle. -
How should the team respond to Gronk?
JohnBonhamRocks replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aside from generally hitting him as hard as possible, and I've said this in multiple threads, (IF Gaines can go) double him and make sure 1 of the 2 defenders on him every single play is Tre White. Get in his head. -
I do feel as if we're due for a KR or PR for a TD, and would like to see some ST creativity to try and get one. Pull out all the stops. Fake a punt. Lateral a KR. Take deep shots. When you figure you're going to lose anyway, which is the case here, why not come out guns blazing and try to put some pressure on them? Would also love to see us get Benjamin matched up with Gilmore. And I'll say it again: if Gaines can go, then have White be 1/2 of the double team on Gronk* every play. Get in his head. One last thing: blitz Poyer on Brady's blindside a few times.
-
If Gaines can go, put him on Cooks. Leaves White to follow Gronk* around the field all day with whoever else is helping double him.

So if we end up 9-7 and lose a tie-breaker...
JohnBonhamRocks replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Originally thought Chargers, and I do think that will be the most talked about game during the offseason if we miss on a tiebreaker just because of the Peterman decision, but wow, yeah Jets and Bengals games are right up there. At least the Panthers are 10-4, so that one stings just a little less. -
Carolina Panthers will be sold after season
JohnBonhamRocks replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To name them the Sex Panthers. -
Oh, no - my suggestion was for the #3 overall pick. My thought was that they would want an OL to help protect Luck.
-
I don't think either Matthew or Watkins should play LT. Edit: We're really missing those catches of 67, 47, and 31. Intermediate threat more like.

Dawkins makes him expendable, plus he's missed half the games the past 2 years and has a $14.45 M cap hit next year. I'm not saying run him out of town, but I also want a franchise QB.

It was a joke because I didn't know where he was working when his name popped into my head, but once I saw he was at GB I shared your line of thinking.
