Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 2
GoBills808 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
also just looking at timing this is the top of his drop DB w outside leverage on Shakir (might be Isabella not sure) means he still has eyes in backfield on Allen so Diggs effectively bracketed then Brown beaten inside by Watt so gets Allen off his spot (great play by rookie w slide help) Dawkins man is past him so needs to avoid which takes the checkdown to Cook away not much here to complain about imo, Allen and esp Torrence did themselves proud -
the only rep that comes to mind is watching him get dog walked into the EZ by legacy product Connor Heyward for a TD
-
he does look good out there so ill allow it

Well that was an absolute crap fest - PostGame thread

just misplaced blame imo 'missing reads' and 'OC route concepts' really misses the very simple personnel issue that in 2021 we had Emmanuel Sanders and a not yet over the hill Beasley, both of whom are capable second options to Diggs in that defenses must respect the majority of the route tree against them...2022 thrust a miscast Davis into that role that the 2022 offense actually outperformed the 2021 despite lesser personnel is actually a credit to Allen and Dorsey, 'double clutching' notwithstanding -
No you can't I think it's pretty obvious by now that taking half measures on the oline does not yield results You either get lucky/good in the draft or you spend big in FA

been watching the Bills for long lol -
These kinds of quotes will not play well in the regular season

That guy Herbig was all over the field it seemed very nice pick in the 4th if you can fit a tweener like that in your system kids from Hawaii too

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 2

I just can't give the oline a pass, I know they're not really big time prospects but enough is enough at this point if you can't run the ball when you need to (and we can't for the last 5years) you need to be above average in pass pro...which they haven't been. there was one half of one season in 2020 where they magically put Williams in at RT and it worked but outside that they are a borderline bad unit overall those things being the case I am entirely willing to live w Allen doing his 90% amazing/10% bonehead routine because it's a more clear path to success than relying on the offensive line to finally figure it out -

that's exactly what I saw didn't trust the help on Watt to show up (which it did...not that I necessarily blame Allen for that train of thought) and by that point he's already bailing it's a mistake because he has Diggs there and it's basically a one step drop from shotgun but he need to trust the rookie to switch properly -

We have the playmakers for it w Kincaid, need better cohesion from oline and some self reflection from Dorsey/Allen to put it all together But as I always harp on, even at half throttle this offense is still better than 95% of the league -
So you're mad at the QB for walking around barefoot after practice and making too much money not sure the NFL is the best place for you tbh

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 2
GoBills808 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
He wasn't only taking easy stuff that game, he was taking everything some of the throws were 10/10 difficulty type, holding the ball for a long time...it's just who he is. I think there's a tendency to remember his 'good' games and think 'well he was just taking the easy throws' because folks equate easy completions w efficient offense -
if the difference between barefoot and wearing slippers after removing your cleats is enough to call someone lazy go ahead I guess
-
Nobody and I mean nobody wants to put cleats back on after you just took them off

I'm just thinking if he isn't on the field as much as he should be, it's probably something like that being the issue -
If it's the same TD as I'm thinking of it looked like a miscommunication between the LBs like one was supposed to pass him off If he was Milano's responsibility that's not great

I understood what you meant I find it significantly more difficult than you to excuse easing up when you quarterback still has the ball in your vicinity but that is why I said this is a very favorable interpretation -

Kincaid looks like the real deal out there running routes If he can be a passable blocker he's immediately option#2 in the pass game -

GoBills808 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes I know, it was just the one play no doubt It was just glaring because old and less athletic/slow would be my worst case scenario for the defense that I've been thinking of the whole off-season and that play kind of sharpened the image -

I did not appreciate Poyer unable to find the angle vs. 4.5 RB -

Favorable interpretation of their play imo The third and 7 for example- 'deleveraged' is a nice way of saying they just stood around after Allen broke the pocket when Dawkins man (Highsmith) gets around Highsmith was actually the one who ended up making the tackle...he looped all the way around through 5 guys just standing around watching -

Then maybe apply some of your namesake when you say this and then call out people, myself included, who argue the opposite while attempting to use as proof the aforementioned article
