  1. Nothing will make me feel good about this team right now. I'm so sick of the same below average...or bad...offense for the better part of 2 decades. I'm getting so used to it though, but what will make me feel good by late tonight is if the Pats lose to KC pretty handily. I'm so numb to the Bills right now that a Pats loss almost makes me feel better than a Bills win. That needs to change.
  2. I'd say top 10 right now. Maybe things have changed since early in the year, but those first 2 games still count. Lets see them allow less than 30 points in the next 2 games combined (NE and Indy) then I'll entertain thoughts of the best D in the league.
  3. At this point I'd like to see Allen sit a few games..be the backup. Maybe 5-6 games later try him again. Maybe as the Starting QB, he is spending more time prepping for the upcoming opponents with his teamates, where as the backup he could spend more of that time studying NFL defenses and learning reads?
  4. First of all, I am sick of these posts every week where someone doesn't like something so they just say "FIRE.....(insert name(s))" But, I end up looking at them and often times responding to them just because..its like driving by the car crash people can't stop looking at. I'm not so upset at Beane, or McDermott, or Allen, or Peterman....none of them individually...but rather at the organization. Why is it that for years, maybe going on a couple of DECADES, they can't just get one good QB? Not even a hall of famer but a good one? You would think by luck or simple chance they would stumble upon one.
  5. Did not want to pay $16 million per year with a $21 million dollar signing bonus for a player who might be very talented, but who averages under 60 catches and under 1000 receiving yards per 16 games in his entire career. Played almost a full season with the Rams last year and got 39 catches for 593 yards. This year with the Chiefs in on pace for 64 catches and about 800 yards. For the money he got, I think at this point in his career we have to say Watkins isn't worth it. He has #1 WR elite talent on paper, but now 5 years into his career seems to be nothing more than a decent #2 receiver who can occasionally have a single 'elite' game, as well as have games where he totally disappears.
  6. If you were someone in KB's position....he just might WANT to get cut or traded. If he is traded, he is likely to be in a better situation. If he is cut, he basically gets to PICK the situation he wants to be in from...what is likely to be at least a handful of teams that will take a chance on him.
  7. I don't want them to lose. I want them to win. I'll take a boring win over a boring loss, but what I am really looking for is an exciting, up-and-down the field win. Just because some of us like scoring and football where the offense is in control of the tempo does not make us people who do not understand the game. In all sports, poeple who don't like defensive battles are people who 'dont understand the game' is one of the oldest, laziest arguments around.
  8. I'll take wanting to watch an exciting, high scoring Bills team over a movie...and myself...I'll be HAPPY to keep posting asking/looking for it on this forum. The ONLY way I'd even accept a Bills team that is low scoring (and as boring to watch) as this offense is...if the Defense were all-world and they won 11-12 games per year with that elite D unit. Short of that...and I'm going to want the Bills offense to look a LOT better. I'm sick of low-scoring, plodding offense team that average 7 wins per year. For entertainment, I want BOTH, Bills wins AND a lot more offense, and there are many of us who are fans of the Bills that feel the same way. BTW, is there a list of the rules of the forum that I missed that say if we criticize the Bills, because as fans we want more than what we are seeing...that we should leave the forum? I'd like to see that if I missed it.
  9. I agree 100%. Why is it if the Bills win, some people just think nothing negative can be posted? Personally, I LIKE the wins, but I would much rather have playoff wins, a superbowl win. Beating average teams at home in a defensive struggle while throwing for under 100 yards...we've seen that before, and I know it doesn't lead to the end goal that I want. I'm not hear to read nothing but people cheering a win like today. I'm happy they won, and I'm glad other people are happy. But I am more interested in conversation about what needs to be better so a game like this doesn't have to be won on a last second field goal.
  10. Its a win, so that is good. Allens run for the TD was fun. But I am so sick of the Bills being involved in "defensive battles" when other QB's around the league are throwing for 400, 450 yards...3,4,5 TDs in a game, 60 attempts.
  11. I think that is the best overall solution to growing the NBA in Buffalo. The developmental league team for the Raptors should play here (if not the Arena, throw a court down in Harborcentre? Then have the Raptors play an early season game in Buffalo (I think the Celtics still do that every year in Hartford.) As for as a team in Buffalo by itself. No way. MAYBE if the Bills or Sabres were gone, some of that entertainment money could be shifted to an NBA team, but even then, I still don't think the support would be enough.
  12. At this point you might be doing McCoy a favor he would want. Does he like Buffalo and his teammates? It does appear so. But if you gave him an opportunity to trade him to a team in the playoff race, I think he would go for it and appreciate the Bills for doing it.
  13. I don't care if someone mentions something about their personal life or something the like. But where I agree with you is where they go on and on about it. Fantasy football also. If you want to talk fantasy football, I'm totally fine with it. Have a segment where you bring on an 'expert' to talk about it or field questions. Have a whole 2 hour show about it (they do that, don't they?) But for all that is good in this world, don't go on..over and over..for days and days about your 'station fantasy draft' or whatever guillotine draft they are having. Want to bring it up? Ok, I can deal with that even though I'm not interested, but after many mentions over many days..give it a rest.
  14. Both. BUT, give me WR's first.
  15. I agree with you. I used to like both the morning and afternoon shows. The only thing I hate about the morning show is they are talking more and more about fantasy football. I know people play an are interested in that..but the outsiders/listeners don't want to hear it. The afternoon show though..wow. I used to listen all the time, now I'm either on satelite radio or listening to 590 out of Toronto. They usually take 8-12 minutes from the start of the show to get on the topic of the Bills or Sabres...talk TOO MUCH about their personal life and/or family, and they don't really engage with the listeners-they like to state their own point of view..and then if a caller/listener disagrees they talk down to them or their point. I disagree with a lot of the opinions of the morning show guys..but I can listen to them. The afternoons how has just gotten unbearable at times..and sometimes uncomfortable to listen to.
  16. There isn't much to do to fix the problems short term. Mid to long term: -Hope Allen progresses and gets better, turns into a legit top 10 QB -finish with a very high draft pick. Find a taker for that pick and trade down and hopefully end up with 2 first rounders (at least one in the top 15 or better) and maybe an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder. Stock up with picks to fill holes. -Spend money in free agency next year SMARTLY. No high priced, older free agents. Target guys who are under 30...that may not be stars but are quality above average players. -Stop spending the majority of money and high picks on Defense. Keep the defense respectable...maybe even good, but give 80%+ of your attention to making this offense a top 10 unit.
  17. Luck hasn't played before this year for a VERY long time. There is as much chance of him being "done" as there is that he might need a full year to get back to where he was.
  18. The game is close on the scoreboard, but the Bills look REALLY out of sync on Offense, and even a bit on D. Keep it close and get to halftime, settle everyone down and make the adjustments needed. Just don't let this get into a Green Bay double digit lead before halftime.
  19. I want no part of Bell. I don't even like what the Bills are paying McCoy. I'd much rather have my RB by committee, with lower draft picks or free agents (Murphy, Karlose Williams, guys you can find like Fred Jackson..etc), and spend those extra MILLIONS and MILLIONS of salary cap money on a couple of O-Lineman or someplace else. I'm not saying I do not like McCoy or Bell, just I till thinking you are better off allocating that money in other places and have the RB position be a position you get by with less.
  20. On this forum I have never complained about the refs. But the Packers are doing a lot of obvious holding. I'm talking two hands, hooking arms, and right next to the ball carrier. It's the worst holding I've seen an offensive do in a long time. everyone holds and it happens almost every play, but the Packers are doing it more than I've seen in awhile.
  21. I wont' say it is impossible...but it is pretty darn close to impossible. In todays NFL, I want to term a #1 receive someone you can rely on for at least 70 catches, 900 yards and 5+ TDs EVERY year, with the potential for 90 catches, over 1000 yards and close to 10tds in a well run offense. I don't see him, or anyone else on this roster...with that potential right now.
  22. The Bills WR's are bad. They are going to be until at least the offseason. Hopefully one of the young guys can work into the rotation and show us something as the year goes on.
  23. Awful. He seemed to be starting to come around and play pretty good. Aside from the Bills, I have been having the best time watching and following the NFL the first few weeks this year...more than in the past few years for sure. A big part of that is the great young QB play. Hate to see this happen, but for him as a person, and for the loss of a young starting QB.
  24. 1.) Most importantly, Josh Allen improving form last week and looking like he is on the way to being a star QB. Everything else that could happen added up might not equal Allen. 2.) D improvement. In all honesty last year, they were an average, or below average D unit that happened to get a lot of turnovers (which made them better). I want to see this D-unit generate more 3 and outs on a consistent basis. 3.) Some of our young players start to look like they are emerging as stars. Kyle Williams and McCoy and Jerry Hughes are good and all, but they aren't going to be leading this team for long due to their age/injuries/deteriorating play. I want to see some of the youngster emerge as potential stars...or at least very good starters/leaders. 4.) 2-3 guys on the OL emerge as possible long term starters? That may be asking for a lot though.
  25. I'd love to have a guy like Tyrod as a backup. I think he can function well as a #2 QB for a competing team. He'd just have to accept he is not there to compete for a starting job...and you'd need him on the roster for QB2 money...like the $5-$6 million per year. As a starter and for the money he is getting....no way.
