  1. This feels like a favor to Schoen. Stashing him on the practice squad would have been more valuable than a late round pick two years from now.
  2. par·a·phrase /ˈperəˌfrāz/ verb Misrepresent somebody's quote to suit your own agenda. "Einstein has no idea what paraphrasing means"
  3. The problem with your argument is that the Chiefs still have an elite WR1 equivalent. His name is Travis Kelce. They had two elite #1 pass catchers when Hill was there. Mahomes didn't miss a beat when Hill left, but we'll see what happens when Kelce starts slowing down. That's going to be a much different situation.
  4. Somebody really ought to start another thread whining about the people whining about the whining. And then another one whining about the people whining about the people whining about the whining. And so forth.
  5. The Bills had arguably the worst injury luck in the league last year and still only lost 3 games by a combined 8 points. Despite what this nobody says, they also clearly got better in the off-season. We are definitely not a lock to win the division with the Jets and Dolphins making huge strides, but we're still the favorite for good reason.
  6. I think Davis's stats are a little misleading when people are debating whether he's a #2 or not (and of course people's definition of a #2). He makes his hay on long routes where he only has to make one move and beat one guy. Fully 1/8 of those stats you mentioned came on one play last year. To me, a #2 can run a full route tree with effectiveness and doesn't drop routine throws. They might not be able to beat double coverage but they can still separate at all levels of the field. Davis doesn't have that reliability in those aspects.
  7. So we won't even get "contract year" effort out of him this year. What has he done to deserve $17 million a year? They talk a big game about prioritizing the trenches, but they keep filling them with mediocre, overpaid talent.
  8. Well I have good news for you. If he's too slow to react to the crashing rusher, he'll be in perfect position to absorb the stunt man. Seriously, though, as long as they improve communication and coordination then they don't need a nimble guard. If a guard with a seven foot wingspan had good mobility he'd be a tackle and not a guard.
  9. Try running through a tub of goo to sack a QB. Not so easy eh? Better than the tubs of "sorry sir let me get out of your way" guards we've been rotating the past few years.
  10. The obsession with Super Bowl wins when ranking QBs is absurd. Dan Marino was better than half the QBs that have ever won Super Bowls. Kelly, Tarkenton, and Moon were better than a quarter of them. If you switched where Allen and Mahomes were drafted, Allen would easily have more rings than Mahomes right now. All that said, I don't disagree that Allen is second to Mahomes. He has passed Rodgers though.
  11. You're describing rape. Two different crimes with different meanings. Forcibly kissing someone by choking them is pretty much textbook sexual assault.
  12. Beasley requested a trade and we released him. I don't think there was much of a cap hit so they wouldn't have restructured his contract anyway. I think you're talking about renegotiating contracts though. The only reason I can think a player would refuse a restructure is if they knew the team wanted to pay out their salary to make them more appealing as a trade asset and they didn't want to be traded. But that's a very specific set of circumstances and I'm not sure if that's ever actually happened.
  13. A restructure is when you pay a player's salary for the year as a bonus and spread that cap hit amount over the remaining years on the contract. It's all the same amount of money but the player gets the money faster and the team creates cap space for the current year.
  14. Players never refuse a restructure. There wouldn't be any reason for it. They just get their money faster.
  15. They didn't get lucky. They drafted and signed a quality offensive line.
  16. None of those guys "made" the other ones. Brady could be his surgical stone-cold-killer self because he knew his defense would always give him a good chance to win. Mahomes can be his prolific playmaking self because his receivers are wide open all the time. And both of them always had O-lines that never let them get touched. The kind of greatness we saw from the Patriots and now the Chiefs is not because of one guy on either team. It's a symbiotic relationship that rarely occurs but produces exponential effects. I think Allen is a guy who could be part of that kind of greatness. I'm starting to doubt that we have the other component that makes the magical brew.
  17. I'm not hating on Mahomes. I was replying to a guy who said Mahomes was "virtually unstoppable." That is not a label you can put on a QB who threw for under 200 yards. He didn't make any big mistakes and his team was virtually unstoppable in the second half. But he had a very mediocre game. Two of his touchdown passes were thrown to guys who had their entire half of the field uncovered.
  18. It was 3rd & 8. Should have been 4th & 8. They would have kicked a FG and given the ball back to Philly with about a minute and a half left.
  19. Someone please tell me how officiating doesn't win or lose games. Eagles just had a chance with a minute and a half left down 3. The refs just gave it to KC instead.
  20. How is that a problem? He's been incredible for them the second half of the season.
  21. Please. Give him either of these O-lines and these weapons and he's the perennial MVP.
  22. Such a ridiculous comparison. Especially since their coordinator held the same offense that completely blew us out of the water to 20 points two weeks ago. You can give up points, you just can't do it as easily as Frazier does. The Chiefs were still in this game despite their offense struggling in the first half because their defense is making things difficult for the Eagles. They have a touchdown for goodness sake.
