Yeah anyone can draw up a great defense if they have the best players on the planet. When you have average players you need to actually be good at your job to get results.
-
We love defending ourselves from getting picks.

You don't need to run the ball to make RPOs effective. Every team knows the Bills want to run on first down. How easy is it to game plan against us when they know exactly which plays we're going to run on every down? We have to stop being so predictable.

1st down runs for negative yards are Dorsey's signature plays and they've basically destroyed this season. Well that, and this defense can't stop anyone when they don't have All-Pros at every position.

That was Porter's least egregious coverage on the evening. -

I don't know if I could make that distance in one stride on purpose. Like how is there the width of a Smart Car between you and the sideline and you step out of bounds? -

Peterson just got called for illegal contact when the receiver was basically stiff arming him down the field. -

Especially because the contact is almost always caused by the receiver. They just expect the defender to instantly get out of the way. -

AKA defensive pass interference? He doesn't even have his head turned around either. He's facing down field and just blocking Hopkins from getting past him. It's crazy. -

I was thinking the same thing. It's like the ball hops off his hand and gets altitude quickly. -

How is Porter getting away with all this PI? Every time Hopkins runs a route down the sideline Porter just blocks him from blowing past him. He's not even being subtle. He's got both arms spread out preventing Hopkins from running the route. All the ticky tack stuff called PI these days and Porter is just out here commiting the most blatant PI and they're not calling it. -
The problem with evaluating Beane like that is we haven't played against the Bengals with the roster he built. Last year we were missing Jones, Hyde, and Von while Josh, Poyer, and Phillips were all held together with duct tape and Tre was barely himself. This year we're missing Jones, Tre, and Milano while Josh is again battling an injury to his throwing arm and Von is where Tre was last year. People can miss me with the "everyone deals with injuries" stuff too. No other team in the NFL has lost even close to the amount of talent to injury as we have the past two years. We've seen them at full strength and they're a powerhouse. That's what Beane should be judged by. These key acquisitions to plug holes are just another indicator of his talents.

All our defenders just falling down in the end zone for no reason. Lucky Godwin didn't look up a half second earlier. The Bills should have won this game by 20+. What a disappointment.
-
Stop paying Neal please. That would have been downed at the 1 by any player off the street.
-
Yeah that's what I'm thinking right now. The Bucs are in this game when it should have been a blowout. A lot of stupid mistakes.
-
Jordan Phillips is massive. Baker Mayfield is not. Just tackle him. I know it's a difficult concept for these guys, but I assure you it's possible.
-
Man Jordan Phillips is bad this year. This QB is half your size and you need to grab his facemask to get him down?
-
Baker has made a few nice throws to the outside tonight that his receivers have just dropped.
-
It's bad when he thinks the defense is going to get an offside penalty so he takes a sack and then realizes they didn't throw a flag.
-
Relax, killer. The other poster asked what a "free play" was.
-
They try to draw the defender offside and take a shot down field because it doesn't matter if there's a sack or interception because we'd get 5 yards for the penalty regardless. Problem is, Josh has a history of taking chances when the defender jumps but the refs don't throw the flag. So he gets sacked or intercepted and it's bad.
-
Certainly looked like it. Josh clearly thought so.
-
Haha bread and burger. That's funny.
-
Yeah because he's awesome. Still made a mistake though. Someday you'll grow up and realize that both things can be possible.
