  1. Bolded is certainly true if you're prone to dismissing any other possible factors without any basis.
  2. So you're a non-wannabe psychologist knowing that you've analyzed the situation and determined that the team could not be deeply burdened by a player going down three weeks and two wins prior that they simply couldn't muster the will to go on?
  3. Good luck. As a PSA I'll share a story I heard today as this was a new one to me. A co-worker had his personal email address hacked. They set up a rule to auto-forward all his emails to their own account. Then they went to online sites that had his credit card stored, changed the email address and started making purchases. His first tip-off to the issue was when he realized he hadn't gotten emails to the account for a day or so. A lingering problem he was still dealing with was convincing companies he was the one that was hacked since he could no longer confirm through email. Insidious.
  4. FYI - you responded to someone who knows absolutely nothing about hoops. Running game? Um, ok 😀 But this tournament is too great to ignore. The finality of the one and done format plus the fact that many impactful players will never be heard from again is very compelling.
  5. That kid makes free throws look like gimmes.
  6. I think the sample size in football is too small as well. One of my favorite lines from a MLB manager was that stats confirm what he sees with his eyes. I assume he also meant that stats that didn't confirm his eye test were worth a closer look.
  7. Hey, blue on black Tears on a river Push on a shove It don't mean much Joker on jack Match on a fire Cold on ice A dead man's touch Whisper on a scream Doesn't change a thing Don't bring you back Blue on black
  8. Luck is a lady whose smile is as cold as a stone She'll bring you things, many things you might never have known But when your die is cast she'll have the final laugh at you She'll lock you in a duel, where you come out the fool

  13. Inspired by the Top 5 Female Vocalist thread here's three from Tanya Donelly and Belly. Pop/punk rocker: Classic rock cover: Slow ballad:
  14. Skating away On the thin ice of the new day
  15. I'm waiting to see who mentions June Cleaver or (Ozzie and) Harriet.
  16. LOL - I was thinking of making a case for her earlier. Wendy O? Aretha? Tough call. On a more serious note , I'll give a shout out to Tanya Donnelly - who I know from her work with Belly.
  17. Damn, and here I thought I was younger.
  18. LOL, I think I'm too young for you. When you mentioned MTM my mind went straight to her starring role show where she was unmarried - then I remembered she was Laura on the Dick Van ***** show before that. EDIT: lmfao at the ***** - did Rob Petrie just get cancelled?
  19. What a great line! I'm on the love side of the Mexican Radio coin. The video with the lead singer's head coming out of a pot of baked beans was a big plus too.
  20. I actually prefer their second album - which I don't think had any hits at all. None of the albums after that were all that great, but each had at least a few good songs.
  21. I was hooked as soon as I heard Lump. Grew to like them a lot - they have a lot of catchy, quirky songs.
  22. By and large (I can't speak to Prince) all outstanding blues players. Zappa was that and more imo.
  23. @T&C Been waiting for someone to convince me otherwise - and I'm a huge fan of many that were mentioned but I'm with you - hands down it's Zappa. Two faves of mine - the second is a cover by his son - but ultimately who gaf anyway? :
  24. 100%. It's also hard to imagine it as ever be a 100% All Star tournament since it makes little sense for pitchers to risk their arms.
