Isles are done. Hurts that the OT winner was a weak goal, but Hurricanes were the better team. Look no further than the fact that the Isles had as many short-handed goals as they had power play goals - 1. And the Canes had 5 PP goals and a shorty.
On the broadcast they mentioned that the Mets have not given up an earned run yet this year. Of course shortly afterward Escobar let one go through his legs and the next inning Pete dropped an easy pop-up - to their credit neither resulted in a run.
Exactly. I don't have high expectations, but I'll enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts.
Islanders haven't played the Rangers in the playoffs since '94 - oof, don't want to relive that post-season.

Just saw that Ullmark got a misconduct - off the top of my head I don't remember seeing a goalie get tossed for a fight with anyone let alone with a non-goalie.
As to Isles, I had high hopes this morning that we'd make this a series - now I just hope we can get the series back home. Credit to the Canes for playing more disciplined and better in general. At the same time there have been some head-scratching calls and non-calls by the refs - always more infuriating when you're losing.
Bolded is exactly how I feel - and to be clear, my hope is that Megill can be better than a #4, just getting frustrated seeing starters having problems going deeper than 5. Hell, I expect my #5 to go 5 or more.
