  1. Future complications In the strings between the cans But no prints can come from fingers If machines become our hands
  2. I've been thinking about what this rotation's 1-5 will-be/is and currently my thinking is: 1) Scherzer/Verlander - I don't think both will take the mound every 5 days 2) Senga - as bad as Carrasco has been in 2 starts, Senga has been dominant. Fingers crossed he keeps it up. 3) Peterson - he takes his lumps and I'd feel better if he were a 4/5 4) Carrasco - hasn't been better than a 3 as a Met. Disappointing start but probably OK as a 4 5) McGill - don't trust him but he gets a chance to establish himself
  3. Bring Me To Life might be my fave female vocal performance. What's funny is I never listened to Evanescence much past that song - one hit wonder for me.
  4. I was born my papa's son When I hit the ground I was on the run
  5. Nice LaPoint reference. Where was he from, was it Latham, NY?
  6. That's awesome. In my case it was more of a giant middle finger to my friends than it was improving my skill set. I remember a kid my son played with that "got it" too. He was head and shoulders above every other kid on the soccer field. I remember being amazed watching him juke past everyone like he'd been doing it for years. Coaches would put the kid back on D to take it easy on the other team and he'd take it as an opportunity to take it end to end.
  7. I played recently on the table I grew up with and the results where underwhelming (playing righty). Great/horrible story about your friend. I've always been fascinated with trying to do things 'wrong-handed'. Bored in the backyard in the past year or so me and my two boys were trying to throw a football lefty. Very awkward but we managed - forced us to think about technique instead of just chucking.
  8. My quirk is that I do everything righty except kicking. Although if I do kick righty it's much less awkward than doing anything else I try lefty - with maybe one exception. Back in the day I was a pretty good pool shot (grew up with a full size table in the basement) and my friends were at best average. Sometimes after a few beers I'd play lefty and I got good enough to beat them more often than not.
  9. I'll have to ask him about lacrosse - my guess is he holds it righty because it's more of a throwing motion - although in fairness all we've ever done is have a lax catch in the backyard.
  10. My oldest son is only left-handed when 'swinging' with two hands - baseball and hockey. For tennis, ping-pong, badminton etc. ..he's a righty.
  11. I'm out of town and didn't catch any of that. Sounds like trouble-brewing - playing things out in the press rarely ends well. It wouldn't surprise if something had been brewing between the two for awhile.
  12. Islander fan so perhaps I'm missing the Sabre fan perspective, but my immediate reaction is to disagree with the bolded. Regular season hockey and post season hockey are two different animals. I think there's value in getting to the playoffs for an up and coming team - as the Sabres appear to be - even if it means getting embarrassed. (btw - I get that the Golden Knights blew up my line of thinking their first year)
  13. … What do you mean, I hurt your feelings? I didn't know you had any feelings What do you mean, I ain't kind? Just not your kind What do you mean, I couldn't be the President Of the United States of America? Tell me something, it's still "We the people", right?
  14. Does anyone here think that calling a ball or strike when a pitch has not been thrown is a good idea? I know it's been less than a week (I don't pay much attention to spring training) but so far I despise the clock. The intent behind it is fine, 4 hour 9 inning games were ridiculous. TBH I'm perfectly fine with a 3 hour game - the giddiness over a 2 1/2 hour game escapes me. MLB and the umpires effed up when they weren't able/willing to control the pace of play without a clock. On the flip side, the anti-shift rules have been a fart in the wind to me. I'm not a fan of the rule but I haven't had an old man yells at the clouds moment yet.
