I can't help myself, I check obsessively. If I had gone to the Yes show I would have been out the door before the encore started. I get annoyed by bands that play the same exact setlist every night - at least switch up a song or two. What I love is the jam bands - I check the setlist for the last show or two to determine what they won't be playing when I see them. I definitely prefer not knowing going in but I just can't help myself.

Aren't the Jets having issues getting Quinnen Williams signed? Given that and their current WRs Dhop to the Jets would surprise me.

I agree with both of you, great setlist minus the encore. I would have been fine with it...would have started to make my way to the exit during the encore.

I absolutely despised Vince Coleman before he became a Met. Took a few months to warm up to him - and just when I did he had the firecracker incident. Hated the player, still loved the team. Same with the Wilpons, hated the owner, loved the team. I have a hard time believing I'd have walked away from the Mets if those other two clowns had bought them.

To each their own, but my loyalty to the Mets runs far deeper. The thought of those two clowns owning the Mets was equal parts horrifying and nauseating. But, I lived through the Wilpons and more to the point hated players like Vince Coleman. I may get disgusted by my team, but I'll never abandon them. As to the Bills - had they left Buffalo I have idea how I would have handled that. Football is the only sport where I can watch a game between two games that i don't gaf about. Not sure how that would change if i didn't gaf about any team.

As an out of town Bills fan this is kind of what I did. Grew up on Long Island with a father from Chicago and a mother from Boston so no local allegiance. I ended up 'rooting' for whichever team won the SB until my father called out my BS. Took it to heart and kind of 'just picked a team' cuz OJ was amazing, Bills were from NY and except for a hobbled Joe Namath the Jets and Giants had no star power. I've never looked back, don't regret it and am thrilled that my two sons are big time Bills fans despite growing up out of market.

Is it possible that there was a team(s) that thought he was the best punter in the draft but either didn't want to expend a draft pick on a punter or felt their punter was better than the best punter in the draft? Seems to me that a more accurate statement would be along the lines that at least two teams did not think he was the best punter in the draft.

JMO, but choosing to draft a punter and bringing in a punter to replace or compete with the guy on the roster are two different things. Not sure how many teams field undrafted punters but at a minimum we can start with the Giants. Do you think that Araiza will never be given a shot at an NFL roster spot? I think he will.

First of all, why should I tell you why no teams haven't signed Araiza to this point? I've yet to make any claims that any team should or will, I've only questioned your assertions. I could make any number of guesses as to why nobody has signed him yet, but it would all be baseless speculation. On the other hand I will be surprised if some team doesn't bring him in before next season based solely on his football resume.

For the record I pushed my FIL down a flight of steps after Pete didn't run out the ball to short. Happy with the end result for the Mets but this isn't sustainable for the Mets or my marital bliss. On a more serious note, got my kid home from college and we were watching the game tonight. I lost it when Pete didn't run out the ground ball...but then told him that Pete would have a big hit. As an eternal optimist that might have been the blind squirrel finding the nut. I think we are coming out of the rut of the past month and we'll see much much better baseball out of the Mets going forward - but it still feels like winning a WS this year is a pipe dream.

Yippee for me. IMO, that minor point doesn't diminish your overall thoughts on the matter - but I'm still at a loss over the draft afterthought comment. Putting that aside - can you comment further on your assertion that "No other team wants him either". How do you know this? More to the point, are you claiming that no team will ever sign him?
