  1. I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden
  2. Growing up we had a net in our garage - just had to ask Mom or Dad to move the car, drop the net down and I was at the driving range! I was never a great golfer but I could drive the ball better than most. After college I played less and less and got worse and worse to the point where I lost my swing. The game got too frustrating and I didn't have the will/time to get better so I stopped playing. Went to TopGolf a few months ago and it was flat out embarrassing. Going again tomorrow and am expecting the same. These days I play disc golf pretty regularly. Much less aggravating for me.

  6. lol - I was referring to the Long Island serial killer case that you linked to.
  7. Had a good meal at the Black Bear Diner passing through the area a few years ago. Beautiful part of the country. Good luck with your business venture!
  8. Try, Oh try But each time a part of me dies And I'm left for dead Pull myself back from the edge Sit still and close my eyes Those thoughts all invading my mind Just quietly push them aside Focus on nothing but me and... Just remember to breathe
  9. This one's in my area. Case has been cold for over 10 years, it'll be interesting to learn what they found in the past year or so - and how long he was a suspect.
  10. First time I can remember opening a thread and not being able to read the content without an extra click. Right now I'm cursing my memory but thanking my past self.
  11. For nostalgia reasons: PBR. As a broke college freshman it was my go-to cuz it was $2.69 for a 6-pack of tall boy cans and it was drinkable.
  12. Years ago I started a new job and the best route included a merge where cars were coming off the highway and I was coming down the service road. Without exception, cars coming off the highway acted like they had the right of way. After a few close calls -in part due to my insistence not to give in I decided I'd be better off taking a slightly longer route to work to avoid the daily stress and unnecessary auto body work that was sure to come. One of my most contentious traffic merges was coming into the GWB from the Jersey side. It was late 80's and I was driving a banged up '73 Dodge Dart - I had the least amount to lose of anyone and had one car that had to be inches from me - eventually he gave in.
  13. Things I`m bound to tell you like that dress looks great on you I could use some breathing room but I`m still in love with you Things I'd never tell you, down the line someday You`ll be a song I sing, a thing I give away

  15. Always is never right and never is always wrong.
  16. Awesome! Since you'll be down by Battery Park you might want to check out the Sea Glass carousel (https://www.seaglasscarousel.nyc/).
  17. My sister-in-law says that it's not vacation...it's going away.
  18. Awesome, thanks for sharing. Hope you're having a great time in Greece. Did you visit the Parthenon? (shameless attempt to get you to requote Shaq)
  19. Over the years I've made it through a ton of layoffs at the companies I've worked for and there was only one occasion when I was vindictively happy about someone losing their job. That person was evil incarnate and had been the cause of many better people losing their jobs for their own gain. But I also saw other people that I thought were either ineffective or flat out @ssholes get laid off and even though I was glad they were gone I still had compassion when they were shown the door.
  20. With every hit that Pham gets the pitching prospect we'll get in a trade for him gets a little bit better.
  21. I've had an obsession with a Mets no-hitter that started when my grandfather told me about Jimmy Qualls breaking up Seaver's perfect game. Then in 1972 I remember watching Leron Lee break up Seaver's no-hitter in the 9th. From that point forward I was looking for a no-hitter from the first pitch of the game until it got broken up. Ironically when Johan got his 'no-hitter' I saw none of it because I was playing softball that night. My brother-in-law was actually at the game - and he was also at the game when the Mets got the combined no-hitter. I only saw the last few batters of that one, can't remember why. When I saw the headline this morning I was nauseated.
  22. @Gugny @ExWNYer @Another Fan I like Buck but... Tonight there was a HBP called where the Brewer may have swung but got the call. Buck was p!sssed with the call showed his displeasure - but didn't make a scene - until the next batter got a big hit and then Buck blew a gasket and got tossed. Buck should have blown the gasket and gotten tossed at the point of the call, not after the fact. ...I am willing to question whether what he brings to the table is enough
  23. Ain't got nobody Woohoo, sad and lonesome Need love Humala bebuhla zeebuhla boobuhla Humala bebuhla zeebuhla bop
  24. Partying in Bel-Air with Buffy and Biffy Some homeboy says "Hey guys, you want some sniffy"
  25. @ExWNYer @Gugny @Another Fan Cohen has scheduled a press conference prior to the game tomorrow (Wednesday). I don't expect him to say much more than he did a few weeks ago through Joel Sherman but he's giving the NY press a full day to prepare their onslaught.
