@Gugny @Another Fan @ExWNYer Can't believe Opening Day is tomorrow. As much as I love baseball the season starts too early and ends too late IMO. Happy to see they chose the more versatile Locastro over Ruf - but I fully expect Ruf to have a much better year at the plate than last year - hopefully in the AL. Projected roster doesn't include Alvarez, Baty, Vientos or Mauricio. Vogelbach looks like the backup at 1B and Guillorme backs up 2B, SS and 3B. And in late breaking news Daniel Murphy will be playing for the Long Island Ducks this year. Ducks are our local independent team, manager is Wally Backman, pitching coach is Nelson Figueroa and apparently Murph will be reunited with Ruben Tejada.

Well in my perfect world every team I root for would be like the Isles from the Cup years - high end skill on offense and defense and toughness too. But that's rare.

LOL, I have no problem with winning by way of three yards and a cloud of dust either. I'm more interested in winning than I am with style points - and I also think that high scoring football and hockey games are a joke. But I get that I'm probably in the minority on all of this.

Isles fan here so first off congrats on the dub. Road shutouts aren't easy to come by. As to the boring hockey, meh. Lamoriello's teams have been defense/goalie-first dating back to his Devils teams. It's a great formula for post-season but can be tough to maintain regular season. Isles have been very competitive since Lou took over and from where I sit it hasn't been boring hockey at all.

Good luck. As a PSA I'll share a story I heard today as this was a new one to me. A co-worker had his personal email address hacked. They set up a rule to auto-forward all his emails to their own account. Then they went to online sites that had his credit card stored, changed the email address and started making purchases. His first tip-off to the issue was when he realized he hadn't gotten emails to the account for a day or so. A lingering problem he was still dealing with was convincing companies he was the one that was hacked since he could no longer confirm through email. Insidious.

FYI - you responded to someone who knows absolutely nothing about hoops. Running game? Um, ok 😀 But this tournament is too great to ignore. The finality of the one and done format plus the fact that many impactful players will never be heard from again is very compelling.

I think the sample size in football is too small as well. One of my favorite lines from a MLB manager was that stats confirm what he sees with his eyes. I assume he also meant that stats that didn't confirm his eye test were worth a closer look.
