  1. I can't answer this poll. I had no expectations for Sean when he got hired - he was pretty much an unknown to me. I had hope he'd be a part of turning the franchise around and from that perspective he's succeeded. This past year was the first season hope turned into expectation for me. And the team collectively fell short. Sean owns a part of that - but I'm in the camp that thinks the unusual circumstances the team faced played a bigger role. Doesn't mean I'm dismissing his part in 13 seconds - he owns most of that.
  2. Concentration Moon Over the camp in the valley Concentration Moon Wish I was back in the alley With all of my friends Still running free Hair growing out Every hole in me
  3. Junkie man tell me what your story is My hand went blind You were in the vein clairvoyant You were in the vein clairvoyant My hand went blind I make love to my transistor, my transistor And my transparency from the balcony I looked out on the big field, on the big field It opens like the cover of an old bible And out come the wolves, out come the wolves
  4. I expect the Jets to improve at QB one way or the other this off season and they scare me more short and long term than the Dolphins. But that's OK, as long as we have a healthy Josh I'll feel good about our chances.
  5. Aaron Rodgers with the Jets would scare me more.
  6. If I were the G-men I'd franchise him. No way I'd sign him multi-year at any price but I'd give him another year. Giants are coming off a playoff year after a number of years of sucktitude and I'm not sure what the quick fix would be. I'd give him another year with Daboll - and from Schoen's perspective start the succession planning. If it's not needed -doubtful - even better.
  7. More fun and games in spring training with the pitch clock. Veteran Max Scherzer is using spring training to see how he can exploit the new rules. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/35777602/max-scherzer-balk-umps-need-figure-pitch-clock-limits In other new baseball rules news the Red Sox test out an outfield shift since infield shifts are restricted: https://ftw.usatoday.com/2023/03/mlb-shift-rule-loophole-outfielder-joey-gallo
  8. Not the Family Truckster in metallic pea green? If you think you hate it now, just wait until you take it cross country! (paraphrase)
  9. @Albany,n.y. did not
  10. @Gugny @ExWNYer @Another Fan SNY is replaying the Old Timers game right now. It started at 9 and goes until 11.
  11. Rule changes begetting more rule changes is not a good thing IMO.
  12. A 20 second strikeout courtesy of the new pitch clock rules: https://clutchpoints.com/yankees-news-wandy-peralta-makes-pitch-clock-look-foolish-with-20-second-strikeout
  13. The first time I played I showed up with my frisbee and my brother-in-law shook his head and laughed. He must have had at least 20-30 disks - looked like he was dealing out of the trunk of his car.
  14. Pretty much agree with everything you don't like. I'll bet we see catchers throwing to first a lot more this year. I like the intent of the pitch clock too, the time some batters take to get in the box is ridiculous. Went to a game last year and a fan in the stands was absolutely killing Schwarber for taking so much time - guy was hysterical, had me in tears.
  15. I have a group that plays pretty much every Saturday and Sunday. That's too much for me, I try to join them either Saturday or Sunday depending on what else is going on.
  16. That sucks. I'm not very good - it's more difficult than I would have thought. I have times when my shoulder hurts and I'll shut it down. If it ever gets really bad I'd probably try throwing lefty.
  17. If you like chucking a frisbee give it a shot. It has parallels to regular golf but is not as frustrating to me. My boys (HS/college) will join me sometimes and when all the planets are in alignment wifey too. Whether it's with friends or family it's usually a fun few hours.
  18. There wasn't one play that made me a Bills fan, it was a series of choices/events in my formative years. But the tipping of the scale was O.J. Since I'm out of market, I didn't overtly push my Bills fandom on to my boys - but it took anyway. Kind of felt bad to subject them to all the bad teams I follow but watching the Tyler Boyd drought-breaking play live together was amazing and we've been enjoying the ride ever since. I've never loved the Bills more than now cuz I get to share the joy and misery with them.
  19. I've been chucking frisbees (and other discs) for the majority of my life. Got introduced to disc golf during the pandemic and have been playing more and more ever since. Anyone else?
  20. I like the intent of the clock, but I'm not so sure about the implementation. Two things in particular, we'll see how it actually plays out: I'd rather the umpires enforce the rule without an actual clock that fans can see. I have no problem with umps giving some latitude if/when it's needed. I don't need another opportunity for fans to demand instant replay cuz the pitch was .0001 seconds past the limit. I don't like the finality of the automatic ball/strike. In football a delay of game pushes you back 5 yards but you still get a chance. In baseball it can end a game - as it did the first day of spring training games.
  21. You were (and still are to me) Connie Augustin - a great guy I worked with early career - always respected his opinion. His claim to fame was fishing after hours Friday and leaving the blackfish he caught in the department fridge for us all to enjoy when we came in on Monday. Epic albeit not @Augieish.
  22. ..and the mental picture of @Augie starts to take a more realist shape!
  23. Steve Martin?
