  1. Always is never right and never is always wrong. Apart from that I hope we draft a QB this year.
  2. My wife gets great seats for the family through work once a year. First row Caesar/Foxwoods level, behind home plate. The fact that it's only once a year is aggravating and merits it's own thread. I'll go to a few other games with friends and my brother-in-law. I think my first game at Shea was 1971. I can't imagine a year without going to a Mets game, but I've probably never been to more than 10 in any given year.
  3. Has Cousins led a team to 10 wins yet? Fair point about Manning/Favre being on their last legs when Woody wanted them. I'm just not convinced that five years from now we'll be using Cousins, Favre and Manning in the same sentence.
  4. Yup, I know he's been an Ambassador for the past year, but I assume he's still involved in Jets decision making. You may be right about Cousins going to the Vikes, my point had more to do with the Jets interest in Cousins making sense.
  5. It does add up. Woody Johnson likes the big splash and the Jets have been drafting bad QB's for years. The laughable part to me is that he used to go after guys like Peyton Manning and Favre. I think breaking the bank on Cousins is a mistake.
  6. I'm concerned about Matz's health more than anything. If the bad outings are health-related I'll be concerned. I try to take spring training performances (good and bad) with a grain of salt. But I agree, if it continues to be a pattern and he can't get his **** together at least we have other options like Vargas.
  7. Sad news regarding Mets old-timer Rusty Staub. https://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/former-met-rusty-staub-dealing-with-kidney-failure-source-confirms-1.17047782
  8. An all time great song for me, never get tired of it.
  9. Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor disapprove this message
  10. If I'm dropping $300 for two it better be outstanding or I'm never coming back. A send back on two identical orders is hard to understand or excuse. Someone suggested OP should've switched steaks. A nice thought, I don't disagree, but at a minimum I would not have touched mine until the other one came back. Either way, the $300 meal is compromised. I put it on the restaurant to try to make things right. Sure the customer can complain and probably get free drinks/desserts/whatever. But as soon as that steak got sent back they should've gone into damage control. The customer should not have had to complain any more.
  11. Great one. Years ago I had super boring video of my sons soccer game. This was back when the kids were like a giant swarm of bees chasing the soccer ball all over the field. I sped up the video and used this as the background audio and it was hysterical.
  12. I've noticed that about Grand Cherokees too, thought t was just me. I had one yesterday morning that came flying up with his lights flashing at me on a two-lane double yellow road when there was someone ahead of me and literally nowhere to go.
  13. Cespedes said the shoulder was from throwing. Said he doesn't throw in the off-season. As someone who played softball for 30 years I know exactly what he means and it's should be no big deal.
  14. I'd have a hard time knocking Barney Miller off the top of the mountain, maybe Looney Toons. Besides the ones already mentioned, here's a few more: Happy Days Laverne And Shirley What's Happening The Monkeys Get Smart Not sure if its a theme song but the Twilight Zone opening was iconic Munsters
  15. Yup, knew the first, not the second. I see Isaac and I'm thinking Ted Lange on Love Boat first and probably Isaac Hayes second.
  16. It does for me. Clarification: the original with the Howard Cosell voice-over.
  17. ..and here's where I got confused. You guys are talking about Robert Guillaume in Sports Night, no? Never saw it, had to google. I thought it was still a Soap reference, which he was in. When I saw Isaac I was thinking Love Boat...which he also appeared in.
  18. Soap was great...but what's with the asterisks? You getting that mixed up with M*A*S*H?
  19. Eddie Robinson. I was sitting upper deck end zone and had the best/worst view possible for that.
  20. Not sure why the Big Fig Newton won't embed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyI3IL46yq4
  21. In the early 80's there were a ton of hard rock and metal bands I listened to. Some of them hit the big time, most of them not so much. This one not so much:
  22. I love Satriani but saw him a year or two ago and it was good but not great. Was wondering what G3 was like. How was Petrucci? I work with a guy whose daughter went to high school with his son a few years ago. He'd go to the high school concerts and said Petrucci's son would tear it up.
  23. I thought it needed more defense. Unless I'm mistaken there was one punt and one sack. I'm looking for balance. Watching two teams march up and down the field at will doesn't do it for me. And I don't agree with those that bring up Jags/Bills or the Browns/Bills games as defensive battles. More like incompetence to me. I thought the 17-14 Giants/Pats SB was riveting. But I'm also fine with shoot-outs. Just stop tilting the rules towards offense. If I wanted that I'd see if Arena football was still around.
