Was it this:

A running joke for me and my friends is whenever a band asks for requests, or better yet if they don't, the answer is simple... MOTORHEAD!! Back in the 90's in between sets of a funk band we tried to convince the bass player to at least strum a few chords of Ace of Spades between songs but the dude wimped out on us. Anyway, any mention of Lemmy and the boys deserves a bump.

Mic drop post for me. Couldn't have put it any better. I bought into the feel-good redemption story his second time through Buffalo hook, line and sinker. Wish he and we were still on that path, but something is clearly amiss. I wish him and those close to him all the best. He's made some disturbing headlines since last season ended.

OK, so I admit this is a stretch for the Mets thread and I didn't get the specifics, but watching Rockies/Cubs they just posted a stat to the effect that the Rockies pitcher was ranked 2nd in throwing pitches (or strikes, not sure) on the outer part of the plate. The tenuous Mets connection: Bartolo was #1. So Bart is a master of not leaving the ball over the plate and working the batters outside/inside.Keeping the ball down in the zone probably helps too.

Richie as the victim. You are either a fool or a troll. I suspect both.

Elementary school, probably <= 4th grade, not sure. I was a walker. And that meant I walked home without parents. Came up to the crossing guard as she had just gotten a group of kids across the street (I remember thinking she had the face of a bird). I should've waited, but kind of like blowing through a late yellow traffic light decided I could make it across if I ran. I remember hitting the deck when I saw the car and the tire stopping inches short of my leg.

It could be worse; Frank Reich could be the Bills coach
SinceThe70s replied to WotAGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unless I'm mistaken our coach won and theirs lost...and we made the playoffs. Admittedly, I prefer Reich's aggressiveness. But I also prefer wins over losses or ties. No guarantee either way at the point the decisions have to be made. -
I was talking to a father of my sons teammate Saturday morning who was at the game Friday night sitting 4 rows up from the on deck circle who said the same. A different father was headed to the game Saturday night after our sons game today. Both father and son are huge Mets fans, looking forward to hearing about their night. Nice send-off for #5. Didn't seem over-blown. Would have been nice for him to get a hit, the pitch he fouled out on was one he would've smoked to right back in the day.

Songs that remind you of the Bills

They just mentioned on the Mets broadcast that Scherzer will only start on Sunday if the game has any meaning to the Rockies, otherwise they'll shut him down. Thumbs up. If he does pitch, I hope he pitches the game of his life...but he still won't deserve the 2018 Cy.

Anyone remember Vin Scelsa and the Ramones attacks?

Caption This! (Bucs edition)

That dudes head is shinier than your helmet. -
I've probably posted this before, but when Braden Looper was a Met he retaliated for a Met getting hit. When asked after the game whether he thought either hit batter was intentional he said something like "Sometimes things happen in a game....and then sometimes other things happen.". It was the perfect response.

I wonder if CC knew it would cost him a half mill or he was just in the moment. I for one have no problem with throwing at a batter...but the head is off limits. Sounds like CC did it right. I don't remember who or when (probably the following year) but someone on the Mets plunked Utley. And he calmly dropped his bat and took first. Case closed. Oh God, Estes missing behind Clemens was freaking embarassing. But then didn't Estes go deep on Clemens?

I was listening to Jon Heyman on local radio today and he said the same thing.

My comments might not have come off that way, but I totally agree.

As much as I like and agree with the "one game at a time" mentality, it also lends itself to the wild emotional swings we see way too much. Myself included. I always liked taking the temperature every 4 games. Honestly, before last week I had us pegged at 0-4. So I guess where I'm at is look forward 1 game, but look back 4 or more.

The curse of the expanded September roster. Brew Crew only gave up 4 runs but needed 9 pitchers to do it. They should expand the roster in September but make teams name a 25 man roster for each game. Teams would sit 4 starting pitchers every night but it would still be a step in the right direction.

Check out the sea lions that took over pier 39 years ago. The Alcatraz tour is really good, but if you go don't be late for the boat you want to take back. I watched a couple show up about 5 seconds after they closed the gate on a half empty boat and they got denied. I wouldn't go out of my way, but the light show on the Oakland Bay Bridge is pretty cool if you're in that area.

I think he deserves it too. There are a Stat: DeGrom/Scherzer/Nola WHIP: .95/.917/.983 SO: 251/290/210 IP: 202/213.2/199 Games: 30/32/31 Innings per start: 6.73/6.68/6.42 ERA: 1.78/2.57/2.44 Record: 9-9/17-7/16-5 A lot of people seem to be writing off Nola's chances, I guess based on WHIP and strikeouts. To his credit he pitches in a bandbox. Scherzer will probably get to 300 strikeouts and that will be hard to ignore, but it really comes down to ERA vs. win-loss record. DeGrom is so far ahead on ERA that he gets my vote.

Cool watching him play this live, but when the band kicks in the sound quality suffers so posting live and studio.
