As a Mets/Bills/Islanders fan I haven't gotten nearly enough joy over the years. That invariably devolves into enjoying watching successful teams (and rivals) like the Yankees and Patriots fail. Nothing wrong with that to me. I just hope that when one (or all) of my teams become dominant I don't end up being an arrogant prick about it - because that's what I see from the other side all too often.
See a gun is real easy
(This is Mean Street) In this desperate part of town
(This is home) Turns you from hunted into hunter (yeah)
(This is Mean Street) You go an' hunt somebody down wait a minute ah
Somebody said fair warning
Lord (This is Mean Street) Lord strike that poor boy down
I didn't come here to call you out. but it's worth noting the difference 10 days make. McCann has been on fire at the plate lately. Pitching has been good all year.
I actually came here to post this. At present DeGrom has 5 RBI's and has allowed 4 earned runs
Repo Man as a most watched movie? I could party with you. Maybe even eat sushi....and not pay. That movie is legend but there are a bunch of movies I've watched more. Wizard of Oz would not be on my list - those flying monkeys scared the $%$# out of me as a kid.
We used to have fences for home runs. If the ball ended up on the other side of the fence it was a home run. Pretty simple really. Now we have walls with home run lines and more stadiums where fans can interfere. As a result, all too often we need an instant replay review to determine if it was a HR or not.
Well, I was born in the Southland
Twenty-some odd years ago
Well, I left home for the first time, honey
When I was four years old
I'm a freeborn man
Home is on my back
I know every inch of highway
Every foot of back road
Every mile of railroad track
My pet peeve is - pet peeve threads. Every three years these threads show up at my front door like an unwelcome in-law. Then they disappear before making any positive contribution. And when you try to track them down - like I did a month ago using search when I had an awesome pet peeve that I have since forgotten - they're nowhere to be found.
My other pet peeves are the search function on this site and my failing memory.
Two ducks showed up a week or two ago. They liked the swampy mess of my pool cover. Best part was watching them climb on top of the pillow like it was their private island. After spending two full days as our guests they'd over stayed their welcome and it was time to drain the swamp. Good times.
Leper joke, lol. That makes it twice in one week for me - just the other day I dusted off this one for my sons:
Why couldn't the lepers finish their hockey game?
There was a face off in the corner.
