  1. You nearly had me roped and tied Altar bound hypnotized sweet freedom Whispered in my ear You're a butterfly And butterflies are free to fly Fly away High away Bye bye
  2. Conforto will come around, he's always been streaky. Whether he's worth a long term contract is a big question mark. I'm more concerned about the guy that we committed to for the next 10 years whose start to the season is worse than Conforto's. On the plus side, for anyone not paying attention our favorite closer to hate has looked pretty damn good and we have a 2 time Cy Young award winning starter who somehow looks better than ever.
  3. Gotta admit that I never listened to Hawkwind and I like the version of Motorhead you posted, but for my money Lemmy's version of Motorhead with Motorhead is a tick better:
  4. In honor of tonight:
  5. He is one of many top shelf players whose rep took a hit until they won a championship. Reminds me of Elway. Both were arguably better players in the years before they won it all.
  6. Hey hey, tell me what you did You can call it what you want But I call it messin' with the kid
  7. There's an old joke about a guy who is granted three wishes by a genie but the catch is his ex-wife gets twice whatever asks for. His third wish is to be beaten half to death.
  8. This guide to Buffalo was put together by someone on the board a few years ago. It's geared toward game day but there's a lot of info about the area as well. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1F9yhWkCZkeTFX_6yagiiwCPu-JUnhBAxuPILxW8U438/edit
  9. I can't believe nobody mentioned Anvil or Killer Dwarfs yet. On a more serious note it's Rush, BTO, Triumph for me.
  10. I learned of this band from this site. Maybe @Pete https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACj-F63GK_M (Parquet Courts: Borrowed Time)
  11. Fair enough, but anyone who thinks Tawm's opinion doesn't hold more weight than the vast majority of other players is kidding themself.
  12. Bad football is QB's getting grazed by a pass rusher and drawing a 15 yard penalty. IMO Brady was a big factor in making that an expected outcome so stfu.
  13. I'm not one for favorites when there are so many to choose from but this one popped into my mind first
  14. I always thought that Ken Hitchcock looked like a gray haired Paul Bearer
  15. Davis' natural position is DH.
  16. Fun fact: the Cubs didn't get their first hit until there was one out in the 4th.
  17. Is that a thing on this board?
  18. A few years back Nickleback was a regular punchline as a bad band. I only know two of their songs -both pop - but like them both so I never understood all the hate. "The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap We’ll all stay skinny 'cause we just won’t eat" We used to listen to the radio And sing along with every song we know We said, "Someday we'd find out how it feels To sing to more than just the steering wheel"
  19. Anyone remember Matt's high maintenance, costly (but tasty) younger sister:
  20. Tire tracks all across your back, uh-huh, I can see you had your fun.
  21. They took the whole Cherokee nation Put us on this reservation Took away our ways of life The tomahawk and the bow and knife
  22. Claude Rains, The Invisible Man?
  23. Just saw some quotes from Rojas (https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/31237769/new-york-mets-pitcher-marcus-stroman-unhappy-team-let-start-game-rain) that makes it look like along with 'ballpark operations' he was involved in the decision. "Rojas said Mets ballpark operations staff consulted with weather services, and he was the one who told Stroman the game was starting on time" "This is the process," the manager said. "The starting pitcher is usually not in the middle of the process of what we're looking [at] there." "Maybe right now it's a wrong decision, but it's what we saw," he said.
  24. Do you think it was Rojas who decided they start the game? I don't know who actually makes the call but I'm skeptical it's the manager. I was wondering whether Cohen gets involved. Either way, you're right that it was a management blunder, especially since it wouldn't have been in front of a sell-out crowd.
