My pet peeve is - pet peeve threads. Every three years these threads show up at my front door like an unwelcome in-law. Then they disappear before making any positive contribution. And when you try to track them down - like I did a month ago using search when I had an awesome pet peeve that I have since forgotten - they're nowhere to be found.
My other pet peeves are the search function on this site and my failing memory.
Two ducks showed up a week or two ago. They liked the swampy mess of my pool cover. Best part was watching them climb on top of the pillow like it was their private island. After spending two full days as our guests they'd over stayed their welcome and it was time to drain the swamp. Good times.
Leper joke, lol. That makes it twice in one week for me - just the other day I dusted off this one for my sons:
Why couldn't the lepers finish their hockey game?
There was a face off in the corner.
Jeez the injuries keep coming. Last night we were watching a Mets 2019 season recap and as they were showing Thor the announcers were saying that he was trade bait. Who knew at the time that cutting ties with Thor and going all in on Wheeler would be the smart play.
Tell Sanchito that if he knows what is good for him he best go run and hide,
Daddy's got a new .45,
And I won't think twice to stick that barrel straight down sancho's throat,
Believe me when I say that I got somethin' for his punk @ss.
Apologies for dropping in to the Sabres thread with a non-Sabres question.
I'm an Islanders fan. My teenage son asked me who the Bruins would rather face next: us or the Pens. How would you answer that?
Agreed. Fairburn took the lazy way out of an interesting question. The Mahomes/Allen debate is fun, but unless you think Allen maxed out this year it's a poor choice for a positional swap out IMO.
I didn't see any of the game yesterday but that sounds dumb. Maybe it was just the 'third time through the lineup' mentality - which I suppose the numbers back up but is too cut and dried for my taste.
I was watching a game recently and Gary made the point that these days a good manager is all about communication - communicating with the players, press and upper management. His point was that management/analytics is dictating lineups, defensive positioning and bullpen management and all that has been taken out of the managers hands. That was an eye opener for me.
