  1. Yeah but when Manning came out there wasn't a clear consensus whether to take him or Ryan Leaf. These 'can't miss' prospects are anything but. Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy if the Jets don't get a chance to pick Lawrence, he may turn out to be what everyone expects, but history says it's not the slam dunk most think it will be.
  2. Is the reality show Shark Tank?
  3. His knowledge and experience as a lawyer or something else?
  4. Is he an actor?
  5. So here I am, growing older all the time,Looking older all the time,Feeling younger in my mind So here I am, doing everything I canHolding on to what I havePretending I'm a superman
  6. In the run up to the draft I had read about him on TBD, but never saw him play. Hanging with a friend (Jet fan), we see an interview and it took all of 3 seconds for us to look at each other and agree that we didn't wanted him. A superficial evaluation for sure, but you never get a second chance to make a first impression and he didn't come off as a leader
  7. Is he a lawyer?
  8. Is or was he a professional athlete?
  9. You are correct! Hombre was a hint as to where he was from and the horrible connection was announcing the Harrison Phillips pick on draft night. Unfortunately Pancho wasn't able to be among us to enjoy last weekend. You're on the board!
  10. This guy was not from Buffalo. But was well known by Buffalonians. Probably more so than by people in his home state.
  11. Not a prisoner. By all accounts he was a well-respected and liked member of his community.
  12. It was not covered. He was not a professional athlete but his connection is to a professional team.
  13. Not a military man. I had to look this up - he was a mortician. But his TV appearances were not related to his profession.
  14. Well I guess some consider his passion a religion, but no. Since that probably isn't that helpful, I'll throw this out there: He has a horrible connection to Buffalo.
  15. He didn't sell the product he was closely associated to.
  16. One of my guilty pleasures was listening to Joe & Evan the day after a brutal Jets loss. After a brutal Jets win might be even more entertaining.
  17. Agreed on Luck, we'll have to wait and see on Lawrence. But why didn't you include Josh along with Aaron and Patrick 😄
  18. No need for sorry, just sharing opinions. Luck had a nice career, but IMO he'll be largely forgotten. Through no fault of his own. If Lawrence goes to the Jets and has a Luck-type career I'll be cool with it. WRT twitter, if you are referring to Captain Andrew Luck (https://twitter.com/captandrewluck?lang=en ) that was outstanding!!!
  19. Yeah, I get it. Me and my boys were all in rooting for the Jets today. But I do think we get carried away with fear of the can't miss QB. Luck was one of those guys and his career didn't come close to fulfilling the expectations - and that's not meant as a swipe at Luck.
  20. Taro's comps weren't very good but the bolded is valid. Who was the last 'can't miss' college QB? The one that comes to my mind is Luck. Didn't exactly set the world on fire. Trevor may very well do just that, but history says it's not the slam dunk folks make it out to be.
  21. I like our chances against anybody, but it doesn't look like there will be an easy out in the AFC playoffs. Conference seems less top heavy to me. Should be a great post season.
  22. Oops, not familiar with her - but I don't get out much.
  23. It dates back to some great moments at the end of Kyle Williams career. Impressive that it's spanned a number of years.
