Shuttle trip from Downtown to Stadium
boater replied to CTBLO716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So far, nothing I read helps the OP. In fact the NFTA bus to McKinley Mall is bad advice. Methinks there isn't a magic downtown bus, or someone would have already pointed it out. -
An Honorable Salute To Our TBD Veterans
boater replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah.. no freaking kidding. That weight sneaks up like a Tsunami. I speak from experience. If I was recalled from retirement, I'd have to buy new larger uniforms. That bi-yearly weigh-in and risk of being thrown out keeps you inline. -

Let's not get carried away here with the feelings. -

Josh Allen expected to start against the Jaguars
boater replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our best QB is the raw rookie we drafted. I'm not upset about that. -
Don't worry. He'll get a chance to prove himself again--he'll get hired as a third of fourth training camp arm--by some team with the tools. Though, result will be the same: 32 starters + 32 backups + 6 fringe players = 70 NFL quality QB's exist in this world. Nate is probably #80 The no namer starting for the Bills today is probably #85

If McDermott starts Allen tomorrow he should be Fired
boater replied to Kevin1778's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You know it. I especially recall the past post that someone should be fired NOW because we passed on Mahomes. What is it with firing people that makes armchair fans get such a woody? -
Who has the best stadium in the NFL?
boater replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it were free, I'm all for a domed stadium. Jerry World or Atlanta, go big. If "Other People's Money" is not involved, I say repaint the Cap. -
The gap between the haves and have-nots is growing wider
boater replied to notwoz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True. In different words... Resigning existing talent is the end of a high performing team. The only way a team can beat the system long term is by drafting consistently well. Entry level contracts don't gut a team like free agent contracts. -

We gotta find a way to lose this one boys.

Win baby! Tanking leaves a dark cancer in the locker room which is hard to get rid of --- ask the Sabres. -

This came down to a printing contract. The BN is the biggest printer in WNY and wanted the contract to print game day programs. Sources report "you want the program printing contract--get rid of Bucky and Sully." As told to me by Dunkirk Don during a a break from one of our meetings. -

Why did Rex only get 2 years?
boater replied to RosenNOTchosen1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice post. I agree somewhat. I think Rex's positives were also his undoings. He was a happy go lucky blustering front man, which worked well in the PR department. No matter how much drano I use, I can't rid the picture of Rex and Bro riding the tandem bike around Delaware Park. Unfortunately, that living life on a a lark bled over to Rex's bread and butter which was running a football team. He ran to the team too casually and undisciplined, with no strategic plan whatsoever. His crass off field showmanship was no way to run an NFL team. -

There comes a point where consistently firing people becomes counter productive. There's a universe of Head Coach eligibles of about 50 people (including employed coaches). If you give an OC and HC a offensive roster of spam; and fire them because they can't make a steak dinner out of it --- potential HC's will read this as a hot headed owner to be avoided. You can't fire every two years and expect to later attract a Cowher, Reid, Belicheck etc. Though you might attract a Hue Jackson. -
Your lost me at "simple" Simple solutions to complex problems inevitably fail. It's well proven. Firing someone isn't going to turn the franchise around.

Peterman will be cut when Anderson returns officially. Gotta say, Anderson v. Peterman is a toss up regarding who sucks more.

I couldn't understand the mumbling cashier--after a couple 'pardon me' on my side she screamed at me. I walked out. It was Five Guy's Burgers, Glen Burnie MD--they hate customers. Come to think of it, all the stores in Glen Burnie hate customers. That entitled millennial customer hate is spreading like a cancer to a store near you.
