  1. Union writer. Good luck releasing him/her regardless of the quality of the product.
  2. $%$##@, this revolves around the red manbag he carried to the DA. The Butler did it in parlor with a champagne bottle.
  3. Nah, it was good. Carucci tweet (see YOLO 11:34) is interesting. I hope it's true. Addressing a hole at RB is not something desirable to do at this point.
  4. The Mayor's blathering made me wince. When you're the Executive, you limit yourself to boring statements like "justice blah blah blah facts blah blah, let the process play out, blah blah, will pursue all appropriate means blah blah." Allot like Rex speak at the combine. You don't make like BHO regarding the Cambridge Police. You don't make like the Baltimore DA regarding the Balt. Police. You don't make like Trump "I'm going to prosecute Hillary when I'm President" (if he's elected President, that statement makes it very difficult to prosecute HRC) You DO make like DA Sedita and Hamburg Police regarding Patrick Kane.
  5. 1-3, Well stated. I don't if know you're saying the police can influence, or if you're saying that's the common public perception. But I have faith the process will be neutral: Police - DA - Judges regard one another with skepticism. (YMMV by locale)
  6. This gon be good. But ESPN will probably settle out of court, they're over a barrel here and have no defense. In that case: this gon be unknown .
  7. From a local Philly outlet, updated last night: OK.. that's not quite a "cracked" skull. But that's quite a trail of damage in any event.
  8. I think the "because they're cops" crowd ____ (oh never mind, that's more a PPP post). Because of getting burned by the Adrian Peterson case, and the deflategate case, I think the NFL and the Bills will tread very carefully here, and won't be pressured or overbearing. They don't another high profile embarrassment. I believe the NFL and Bills will proceed slowly anf carefully here.. no pressure.
  9. Thanks for the link. If most or all of that is true, it seems like a bunch of drunks, and he said she said situation. In which case, if I were the DA, I wouldn't press charges more than a misdemeanor. (misdemeanors for various drunks are warranted, but not if it takes ADA's away from more serious crimes) Regardless, the one dude with the cracked skull probably has pretty good civil case. I'm going to change my policy of "nothing good happens after midnight" to "nothing good happens after 10 PM."
  10. Intoxicated? Have you seen the lab results? Sidearm while intox, a bad idea. But Philly Police regulations only come into play if they conducted "a police action" while off duty (link following). Instigated? We'll see. And that may not be important. Once the alleged instigator is on the ground getting a bashed skull, the legal tides turn. The first to use force seems irrelevant here, it's the first to use excessive force Here is the Philly Off Duty conduct policy. It may not pertain to this case, There are no reports they pulled out badges and/or guns. As far as I can tell, the regs are mum on sobriety and carrying a weapon, plain clothes, off duty.
  11. I worry about his well being. He needs to let it go. He should get professional counseling. I'm not a Psych, but I see traces of OCD, maybe even PTSD in the interview, and those can be treated. Lifting that burden would improve all aspects of his life. His JMU and financial planning shows he has a high upside, but he's being held back by something. It's a team sport. It's a team loss. That he had to kick from the extremes of his usual range was due to field position results from offense, defense and special teams.
  12. Dead drunk walking. I wish him the best.
  13. We're doomed. Dooooomed.
  14. http://www.bedbugregistry.com/hotel/NY/Buffalo/Embassy-Suites%25252DBuffalo No reports of bedbugs in the last 4 years. You should be good.
  15. Those pics are perfect example for the "cold and sterile" most of us fear in a downtown stadium.
  16. Rob Riddick, most under-rated. If it was 3rd and short, he got it, each time. EVERYTIME.
  17. Chris Kyle will shoot the opposing QB's eye's out. Ooops... I'm mixing up my memes. RIP.. CK, you done good.
  18. Touche. I'm not aware of a urban palace stadium succeeding financially. Though, some urban planners suggest they do. Buffalo context: take 8 home games, add a few half-attended preseason games, and at best 3 concerts a year--the only way the bonds are paid on the palace stadium is through taxpayer subsidy.
  19. Oakland comes to mind (an old stadium) I don't know of others. When stadium feasibility studies come and go, most of them pan "single team facilities" as unsustainable. I shouldn't have narrowed on MLB.
  20. Bigger than Bass Pro.. I suggest. "Football only" downtown stadiums are failing economically for the tax payers paying their bonds. I dream of the day where a failed downtown stadium adds property tax to my mortgage [sarcasm]. If you can have a NFL team and a MLB team in the stadium, it will succeed financially. Obviously, that's not happening here.
  21. Millenials are 30 years +/- and "the Bern" is in his seventies. Eeeww.
  22. I don't think so. The border crossings (road-wise, and Customs-wise) can barely handle everyday traffic. They could never handle 10,000+ rooms of people going back and forth from NF to OP or downtown. Cool idea, if someone had a trick to make it work.
  23. Searched... didn't find. Video of Hillary barking like a dog. Kind of disturbing. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2016/02/16/hillary-clinton-barks-like-dog-breaks-internet/80447162/
  24. That didn't go well for George Costanza. "It was right there!" I second that motion. Let's bring it to a floor vote.
  25. I was at that concert. Epic. If I remember, it was: the Stones, Fleetwood Mac?, Foreigner, Pablo Cruise?
