  1. This whole mess is going to get Kaepernick a lot of money once his case is settled. I wish this would go away so we could get back to the game of playing football.
  2. I'll add a few more: Picking Rob Johnson over Flutie. As much as you hate Flutie, he found ways to win games that were beyond Buffalo's offense without him. Letting Pat Williams go in free agency. Defense went downhill after that move. Choosing JP Losman in draft instead of moving up a couple spots to get Roethlisburger. Drafting EJ. I'll stop there as the list goes on and on.
  3. I'm going over and being optimistic. I think QB play is bound to improve even if we have a few turnovers. I believe McDermott's defense gets better and still is able to get fortuitous TO's to turn a few games our way. I don't see any blowouts this year. The Pats are getting worse and neither the Dolphins or Jets have improved that much. For some reason, the Bills always seem to do better against the NFC North even though the division looks tough on its face. All of that adds up to another run at the playoffs and with home games in December, don't count us out. Its a new year!
  4. Also if you remember Bruce Smith was signed to a contract (or at least agreed to play for Buffalo) as they didn't want another Tom Cousineau (sp) situation with their first pick. The USFL may have been collapsing but no one knew how the lawsuit would play out and if Kelly would eventually sign with the Bills.
  5. I bought tickets to a Boston Celtics game this year and was disappointed to no longer have the pdf download option. I prefer something in hand just in case. Anyway, they had a hard ticket option to have it mailed to you the old fashioned way. Not sure if this applies to the Bills.
  6. A little off topic, but how about Aaron Schoebel for Wall. He played his entire career for Bills had 78 sacks and 2 pro bowls. He may still have the record for most career sacks of Brady.
  7. Just saw your post. I heard on CBS Sports radio morning show Taz and Moos(sp) Don't believe anyone would give that much up, but crazy things happen when you're desperate.
  8. Not sure if this was posted already but I heard this morning Eagles want 2 first rounders for Foles. It won't happen, but the trade scenarios proposed here won't happen either.
  9. I first found this website in the mid 90s after having logged in to the D&C Hyperbills website. I've enjoyed reading the posts on the Stadium wall and appreciate the knowledge of many fans. I'm a Bills fan since the 60s, but really got hooked when I lived in Buffalo from 1977-83. There were some lean years when you could go to the stadium for about $8 in the endzone, but I digress. I don't post much, but I appreciate what this site does for us out-of-towners. The Mario Williams watch was unbelievable. I lived in CT until recently and am happy to be out of Patriot territory, but will miss opportunities to watch the games live. Thanks for keeping me informed all of these years.
  10. You have to give the Jets credit. They were ready to play and really attacked. It seemed like they were in the backfield on almost every play.
  11. I'm not sure if there is a conspiracy based on what I've seen but I don't get the local flavor. Also, I haven't seen much of the offense this year, but am wondering what happened to the team that averaged 25 points per game. Have they been coached down to this level of mediocrity. Even though we have lost some talent since last year, it wasn't like we had a formidable receiving corps most of the year yet still managed to score points. Teams were keying on our RBs and we still made plays (more than a few by Tyrod's running skills) Maybe its time to retool and do what we do best.
  12. McDermott quotes sound like stuff Belichick would say. If he can get the same quality out of the Bills, I'll take that anyday.
  13. I don't think this would be a more impressive win if we pull off this game, but it would signal a change in the Bills culture. Beating teams we should beat has not been a given during the drought. Injuries at WR are going to make it tough if the Bengals offense is truly revived because I don't think we win a track meet with most teams. I haven't seen much live this year so I am still skeptical of the defense holding up against good QBs (not sure Dalton is one). My guess is we need to running game going and Tyrod can hook up with Clay like he did last week to keep the defense off balance. I'd like to see some production from Jones as he should be getting more comfortable in the system after 5 weeks. Go Bills!
  14. So much hate for Doug. He was a great QB for us and I believe he would have won the Music City game if he started. We got a few more playoff years after Kelly retired because of his quarterbacking. I saw him in his first game for us in 1998 against the Bears in preseason and you could tell he had something that RJ never displayed. Recently my son's best friend met him in Chicago airport and he was very kind and generous even allowing him to take a selfie. Pretty cool guy if you ask me.
  15. I cancelled the ticket for the first time as I am in the process of moving to South Carolina. Last year I stopped watching live games and had more enjoyable Sundays. I'm not as enthused this year with all the changes. I watched the Baltimore game on tape last night and it was awful. Hopefully they surprise me and start winning later in the season. I'm optimistically thinking 7-9 this year. Has anyone started mover during the season with the ticket? My new house already has the satellite, so I may give it another try. Thanks for the number.
  16. I was away for the beginning of the game and had set my VCR to tape what I missed. When I got home it was the second half and I saw Reich's pass get intercepted for a touchdown and turned off the VCR. I listened to the game and watched the second half but no recording for superstitious reasons. Still unbelievable comeback, but I didn't have a copy to rewatch.
  17. I lived in Boston at the time and even went to the parade although it was too cold to stick around. The whole city was caught up in it as it was a first for the Pats. At the time, Bills & Patriots were pretty even in all time standings. Since then it has got progressively worse around here as they continue to beat up on my team. I dropped Sunday Ticket this year after 15 years of futility while living in New England. I'm hoping to move South before football season begins, so maybe that will change their fortunes.
  18. I say Sabres because its hard to win football games in the NFL!
  19. Thanks for sharing. I only get the paper on weekends, so didn't see this one. Chris is such a class act and its nice to see he is out at the Travelers this weekend. Wouldn't be the same without him there. My prayers are with him and his family. He gave so much to this world and always supported our Bills.
  20. This is almost too hard to believe. There may be an element of truth in it, but who knows where this will go. I prefer to believe they are playing their cards in hopes of a viable trade option and if it doesn't occur they will cut him with no compensation owed. Until the final days when the option is still open, we'll probably hear something a "will they or won't they" each day from every source around the country.
  21. We may not win this year, but I for one don't believe we should cut our good players so we can take a flyer in free agency. Very few free agents work out as intended and in Buffalo's case we have to pay more just to get them to consider us. I say keep building through the draft, keep our best players and carefully restructure to avoid dead money down the road. While the jury is still out on Whalley, the right coach can make a difference. We're not that bad and the head coach really cost us down the stretch, so let's see if McDermott can fix the defense to make the playoffs a possibility. I'm seeing too much pessimism on the Board. Free agency is full of possibilities (we did pretty well last year) and the draft is around the corner.
  22. If he's still here this year, my hope is he starts to see the open guys and gets a better feel for the middle of the field and anticipation passes. It may be a pipe dream, but it still beats losing games because of interceptions. He finally showed something in the Miami game and lets see where it goes. And at least we won't have to wait 100 years for a winner to emerge. It only takes one good run to get a Superbowl. I suspect we do it with defense like Denver, Baltimore and Tampa Bay did.
  23. That is so awful to lose a child. I will keep Danny and your family in my prayers.
