Tyrod Taylor's Sweetest Stat
Dave in Avon Lake now replied to Wing Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't believe Brady has been in the red zone 25 times already this season. Does that mean he is beating teams methodically this year and has had to settle for field goals 9 times. I wonder if that will or should change for the Bills to beat some of the better teams in the league. At the beginning of the year, I thought ground and pound would be effective in keeping the ball out of the elite QBs hands. As NE proved you don't want to get in a shootout with Brady (or Manning or Rodgers). What do you think? -
Patriots OL Rotations
Dave in Avon Lake now replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're not going to get to a QB that gets rid of the ball that fast unless you know the snap count and even then you might get called for offside or encroachment. Hopefully, Rex can figure out another way to make him hold the ball longer with press coverage and the like. I'm starting to feel the game in November is going to be for the division crown if we keep playing like we have and Tyrod improving each week. -
Jets vs. Fins, 10/4 - Who to root for?
Dave in Avon Lake now replied to Wazzu Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who is the home team? I root for Miami when they play any team except the Bills. We lived in Miami in the early Marino years and its my son's favorite team. Let's worry about beating the Giants who I dislike almost as much as the Patriots. Their fans are obnoxious too. -
QB quandry
Dave in Avon Lake now replied to Dave in Avon Lake now's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the advice guys. I killed with Tyrod in both leagues. -
I'm in a 2 QB fantasy league and with Drew Brees out for Sunday, I'm plugging in Tyrod. My other QB is Tannehill so I'm hoping for a shootout in this league. In my other league I have Tannehill as my starter with Tyrod on the bench. Who would you start for fantasy points only?

I originally thought turnovers, but penalties are way too prevalent with this team so far this year. I think we can run the ball and do the short quick passes to keep their defense off balance. We have to be more disciplined on defense and avoid costly pass interference and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. It should be a close game. Let's hope Carpenter can make his extra points this week.

Sorry to bring up New England game one more time, but I am sick of all the references posted in the media about TT's "garbage time" rally. I live in New England and know that many Pats fans were worried he was pulling a "Tom Brady like" rally out of his ###. Anyway, I was excited at the 4 minute mark and even down to the last gasp that we might somehow pull the game out. As Bills fans, we have seen way to much of last minute rallies that killed us and a few we still enjoy (Houston playoff game). For those of you who were around in '86 when Kelly first came to the Bills, there were several rallies that fell just short. I'm hoping Tyrod is the start of something like that, but with a little fast forward on the wins while we can afford this defense.

Pats Fan Nervous to come to the Ralph
Dave in Avon Lake now replied to JP's Voice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Back to the original post. Living in New England, I have been to Gillette a couple of times for Bills games and have not been mistreated either time while wearing Bills sweatshirts. It may have to do with the fact that we hadn't beaten them, but no one bothered me. I even met a few Bills fans along the way. I haven't been to a home game in many years (1999), but the last time I went was with my high school aged daughter. I bought cheap seats in the upper deck and was surrounded by a bunch of drunk Canadians that wanted to talk about hockey. You are right that traveling to games is expensive and when the Bills lost to the Giants in the closing minutes, it made it seem even worse. If thins have gotten better in the intervening years, I might take another trip. For now, I'll just watch the games on DTV. -
Bills vs. Pats...hypothetical scenario
Dave in Avon Lake now replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd rather win now and take my chances later. This would be a tremendous confidence boost and probably lead to a successful season. As we've seen before "Don't count your chickens" but I consider any season we beat the Patriots as successful. -
An open letter to EJ Fans
Dave in Avon Lake now replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like EJ and was rooting for him to succeed this year. The game against Pittsburgh confirms that he could be an NFL starter someday and needs a chance to succeed. While Cassel is a safe bet as a #2, I really wonder what this does to EJ's psyche going forward. We know he was not a confident QB last year and although he seemed to rebound with a new found enthusiasm with the new coaching staff, the relegation to 3rd string may negate the positive he has shown. I'm rooting for Tyrod to succeed, but hope Cassel is not the replacement if he doesn't. Just my 2 cents. -
Guess the Dareu$ contract
Dave in Avon Lake now replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
$100 million over 6 years. $45 million guaranteed. Is this why FJ got cut? -
I was very disappointed losing Fred yesterday. He was such a class act through all those losing years. I'd hate to have to face him this year, but it would be the Superbowl so I guess I would take my chances against Fred and Marshawn and that defense. Maybe they can send Kam Chandler our way as a return.

Predictions for the first 4 games of the season
Dave in Avon Lake now replied to TSOL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Beat Colts in close game 17-14 Luck gets a late TD to make score close Beat Patriots with or without Brady (NE always is a slow starter) 20-14 Lose to Miami 17-7 Miami D causes turnovers Beat Giants 24-17 They always play us tough and ODB gets at least 1 TD -
Sunday Ticket - Start your Engines
Dave in Avon Lake now replied to Griz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. He said that instead of letting it auto renew to cancel the ST subscription. He said then call back when new season is about to begin and negotiate for $0 cost. He stated that they have more options that way. I'm no longer on a contract, but I've never gotten ST for free since the first year when it was much cheaper (think around $150 for season) -
Sunday Ticket - Start your Engines
Dave in Avon Lake now replied to Griz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For what its worth, he said I should cancel Sunday Ticket when the season ended, then wait until July or August and see what they will do. If you read my original post, I received more in discounts $30 times 12 than the cost of Sunday ticket. I didn't think it was any harder to accomplish than in previous years, but definitely recommend you ask for customer retention right away. I suggest you play the loyalty angle and I've even used "I've heard others get similar breaks" I have never had a bad experience handling it this way and they usually tell me about other ways I can save money in the future. -

I'm new to posting to the Board as I usually don't have time to write but read quite often as you guys are up on everything Bills. I am a long time DTV subscriber since cable went digital in 2001. Living in CT, I get both NY and CT channels which gives me several options to watch the Bills without ST. I got ideas from several on the Board and have used it to upgrade equipment and reduce the price in the past. I got a pretty good deal this year and I recommend you always by pass the first rep and go directly to customer retention. It takes a little longer so I am usually prepared for at least a half hour call. He gave me $10 off my DVR price for a year and an additional $20 off as a loyal subscriber. I don't really see the advantages of ST MAX as I tried it last year and really only cared about Bills game. He also offered 4 months of Showtime for free and said it would just drop off rather than me having to cancel when the offer was up. The only other thing he mentioned that I hadn't seen before was that after the season, I should cancel my Sunday ticket as they are able to give the best offer (free) to non subscribers.
