Totally agree.
Watched all the Clemson games this year and Wilkins is also having the most fun on the field, its great to watch. You can tell that he's deeply invested in the success of his teammates.
I said no because I don't think he's going to be commanding big bucks after this year, if we like him lets just sign him long term and get it done long term while its relatively pain free.
Can't we just restructure existing contracts with larger base salaries for this year. The cap is very flexible, if we want to pay upfront or just not do big bonuses but a larger base for the less splashy free agents we do sign I'm sure we'll have no problem getting to our 89%. Not saying they won't just spend it . . .
Not sure exactly what were suppose to look at, cfl receivers that have made a 53, a 90, or just played in the cfl. In any case its got to be very low. I bet for players that haven't made a 53 0% is a lot closer than 1%.
My guess is the system is somewhat subjective/arbitrary since like players are a scratch. They are probably just looking to avoid complaints/gaming of the system. If there is a set published formula sophisticated operations would then be looking to sign players in a such a way as to not give other teams higher picks etc. It seems equally plausible that there's a competition committee that determines "like" players and they don't want them over scrutinized/criticized.
There are other people who do what he does, but they don't make what he does. There's not even an upside to the contract, it started out bad and can only get worse. Isn't he our highest paid player this year? You can't play role players like that! A couple more contracts like his and we'll be headed for another cap hell repeat of this year.
Totally agree the two are not related, and its definitely a huge deal for Pittsburgh. I just don't think you can conclude the team is dysfunctional, sometimes people need a change.
No, I'm suggesting that there's nothing unusual happening in Pittsburgh or Buffalo. Players are just individuals making decisions and two people leaving isn't even a pattern.
Yeah, I'm not worried about our locker room or anything. I just think to an outside observer who doesn't follow the bills that along with all the trades raises some eyebrows.
Not sure, but I definitely think what went down in SF was way more shocking.
Honestly, the exodus of players under McD seems like more of a red flag. We've had a lot of players retire under mysterious circumstances.
