  1. How late does this guy project to go? He seems big and fast. I know his competition was terrible (I saw the video up thread) so its harder to predict his NFL ceiling, but he should be able to take the lid off the defense right away. I'm also guessing he can block well.
  2. I know the fools was played on us, but to continue a previous line of thought... If he competed in Brazil and then was available mid season for us. Is that really a problem? We would get an athlete that has world class ability, character, and knows our playbook. My point is that if pursuing the Olympics, earns Goodwin's loyalty; then who cares as long he doesn't sign with anyone else (I know that can't be guaranteed).
  3. Yeah that's what I got too. I watched tape from the Auburn game and he had 2 sacks (1 was clean up of someone else). He didn't get too much pressure (usually just ran past the QB). In run support he had a couple of nice back side stops, but also lost the edge a couple of times. Throw on top of that the swing he took at someone and the PF that did get called in the 4th quarter for a drive continuing 1st down. I hesitate.
  4. You are reading this backwards (I did too initially). That is the Opponents TOP. So we are 2-0 with opponents low TOP and 1-2 with opponents high TOP.
  5. I was a little confused on this too. But some/most of the schemes I've seen on this site have a NT at 0 or 1 tech, a DT at 3 tech, and a DE at 5 tech (Strong side). It is definitely not the symmetrical NT flanked by two DEs.
  6. Anyone bored enough to figure out how many times we would've been called for the new penalty in 2015? PFF (They like to watch every play right)?
  7. Fair enough. You can buy me a birthday shot to make up for it. PM me for my local pub that I will be doing car bombs at tomorrow.
  8. You linked me to team head to head and it looks like you're right. Since forever, we are not the worse than rest of the league (I assume this is true cause why else would you link it). But I guess I assumed there was some cutoff here. I used Brady's career as the cutoff. These are his splits from the same website. And I was right for my pre defined period (I know it looks bad but I promise this was my criteria in my original post). His winning % against not the AFC east is 75.6% which is worse than 77.9% against the AFC East. Worse (from our perspective), his 89.2% winning percentage is way worse than the rest of the league. Sorry I didn't specify the time period we were talking about, but for the past 15 years, the patriots have been MEASURABLY better against the bills then the rest of the league.
  9. I don't know how but I feel pretty sure you could statistically prove that the Pats are worse against the other 30 teams (particularly the 27 teams outside our division). If that counts as measurable then I guess we could fire up JMP and the wiki on poison distributions (I think that's this) I'm ok with them drafting 5 lineman if they draft no CBs. I have to believe their CB depth bites them soon. If we could keep TEs in to block their good rushers (not so good after losing Jones), then Sammy should be able to beat half their secondary anywhere on a play action. ...? Are you actually happy on a bills forum that the Patriots might layoff a bad contract? I hope Amendola holds out this TC and they have to give the rest of their cap to that guy. Were you upset the Pats signed Hogan for too much when the Bills would have likely not matched a smaller offer? I'm also surprised by the move. I think no matter what TT gets more time which more importantly exposes the Pats 2ndry How do they have so many UFA's....? Is this why they always get an absurd number of comp picks? For this Bennett deal, I am very ambivalent. Sorry for so many quotes (I like to keep my post count low, but the quality high).
  10. Just read about him and seems like a good Roman fit. I don't think we'll reach for him this year because of our defensive needs. Since TE's are not hot commodities and Roman needs so many, I think I would like us to spend a mid/late round draft pick on TE until we have a #2 that we can use in the redzone.
  11. I like the idea of a TE rather than a WR for this draft. Gives us another potential weapon in the red zone and the WR draft doesn't look great (from what I'm reading on this board). Robert Woods is serviceable as a #2 because hes on a rookie contract. Worst case scenario, Woods is awful and we look for a better #2 in FA and/or draft WR in a better year. Most likely case scenario Woods performs as he had and we sign a better #2 in FA and/or draft WR in a better year. Best case scenario Woods excels we resign him (cause that's what we do now) and go BPA with respect to WR in a better draft year. Just behind RT I have TE#2 as the biggest offensive need for the this team because I am of the opinion, "if you can win the last 20 yards then you can win any 20 yards"
  12. I see this as good depth insurance. Worst case scenario we have a big blocker in the redzone and someone who shows he can catch when the defense forgets about him (Also knows G-Ro system so he might be more sneaky now). I like the idea of hunter henry too. What round has he been forecasted to be picked? If we pick him up and wins the second TE position then I would be happy to cut the Dray and Shady rap meme. Until I have at least the meme and a blocking TE. Its the offseason.
  13. Agreed its not a Gaussian distribution at all. I would think its closer to exponential decay.
  14. As has been stated. Its a little late for scapegoating. If you wanted to pass the buck, you do it right away in the offseason; not sit on it for a couple months. Whatever the reason, scapegoating seems unlikely.
  15. I also don't see this happening. Yes hes on a low contract but he still has a lot to prove to us and the league. If he were some sort of proven commodity then maybe he could break his contract, but since he only has a season under his belt, I think the league would want to see a little bit more before he could break his contract for a big pay day.
  16. Thanks for the video again. I agree his run defense needs some work. I liked him in man coverage as he looked like he was covering the TE and RB well, but his zone coverage looked iffy. I think I liked roberts more even though he didnt really drop in coverage much.
  17. The video you sent was pretty fun to watch. I never really wondered what his assignment was because he was so regularly slicing through the line and blowing up the option.
  18. At least 4 of these are probably done whether you like it or not. EJ (no one will trade and his cap counts no matter what) Miller (2nd year and they cut Urbik) Woods Robey (unless you call the slot CB something else) Am I missing something?
  19. Powell didnt play last year and Leodis was out half the year. So we lost 4.5 players.
  20. I think its pretty clear it hit the ground and certainly did not have control. Overturned
  21. After NE got a big catch to get to the 5 yard line they ran a hurry up which resulted in a score. The replay clearly shows a Pats player running on the field and then running back. The sub/not sub seemed to cause some confusion with our guys. Particularly a Bills player who was gassed and trailing the play (thinking they could sub) but now all of a sudden had to get lined up (I think this was the offsides player). Seems to me it should be pretty simple. If you want to hurry up then no one enters the field. If someone enters the field they can leave, but the defense gets the chance to sub. I don't think this NE specific; I just noticed it on that play.
  22. Favorite thing about that play is the ways he just jukes out 5-6 Jets simultaneously and they all come crashing in together. I feel bad for the colorblind folks who will never get to enjoy that one.
  23. to point 10. That was a pretty good team. Actually looks like the best team we have beaten so far (2x Fins, Titans, & Colts). I can live with a messy win on the road against a good team.
