  1. He looks like two large men that ate a child. Sheesh nice pick up during TC IMO.
  2. I think a lot of us get it. We just can't stop talking about EJ. OMG did you see what he was wearing at the mall the other day!!!! On a serous note, because a lot of us are pleased by our QB situation we are happy with any of them starting.
  3. You're right the pass reads are quicker, and scrambling won't provide too much benefit. However, his feet would be powerful in a designed run (particularly a read option or boot leg). This would make the team more efficient in the RZ. I don't want to be bottom 5 in RZ efficiency again; I don't care how it gets done.
  4. Good to know and thanks for the stats. I guess he has struggle through the air...? To me his elusiveness is a big element in the RZ. I think our RZ efficiency is an important place to focus because we should be getting short fields with our D and won't have too many possessions with our ground and pound. I will keep a closer eye on his performance in the RZ the next couple of games.
  5. Could've sworn I saw a replay last night from behind the defense that pretty clearly showed a PBU. I thought it was a good try on 3rd and long. I guess we can chalk it up to some of EJ's struggles with throws on the runs.
  6. Don't have his stats in front of me but I do know of the 4 drives he has led into the red zone we have had 2 TDs. I wouldn't say he struggling unless he puts up another 0-2+ night.
  7. I think KtD identified the one peter was talking about. EJ got flushed and threw down the middle of the field (I think Gruden called it triple coverage, though I didn't see it). Replay showed DB got a hand on it. On the above play I wasn't sure if it was a communication error or what. The outside is where I think the ball should be because the defender seems to have inside leverage.
  8. I actually am starting to visualize how a poor outing for TT or MC could be handed to EJ in the second half or 4th quarter. Assuming its close cause the defense has played well; let EJ have a drive or two to win the game if TT or MC play a terrible game. Some one said like a relief pitcher in another thread. First time I've really thought it could be doable. Probably still a bit too outlandish.
  9. Pretty easy to leak counter information that the other two will start to throw shade against the correct "leaked" info. Would expect if they want to keep the identity of the starter classified they would do some subterfuge.
  10. Speaking as a member of the Anyone but Cassel club, I am worried Cassel will look very much like what we had last year from Orton and EJ; always trying not to screw up. Also after watching Fitz struggle because of his lack of arm strength, I think Cassel could struggle if the box gets crowded. That being said I am comfortable with him starting; I would just like to see one of the young guys because I think either would make a couple of plays a game (EJ through the air on a deep strike; TT on the ground) while still moving the chains on the short routes (Cassel's strength).
  11. I honestly don't even wanna think about it. I think Hogan and Goodwin are both good. I don't think Thigpen can be kept because he doesn't bring much as WR and we have plenty of return men.
  12. On the topic of our deep WR corps. I agree Davis has a chance to make team, Thompson also looks really good. Lewis looks to be danger. I guess Whaley took notes on WR evaluation while in Pittsburgh.
  13. The Browns had one sustained drive against the 1's. I know the Browns aren't going to light anyone up, but 3 points per half should be considered a W for the D.
  14. Actually the play by play does show that when EJ was in there the RBs had <5 yards on like 8 carriers...so.... Interesting to see what the reps will be going forward.
  15. I imagine he'll have his starter by game 4, but will play all the QBs that game (he's played his starter in the last game before, albeit disastrously). In closed practice, the starter will work with the ones. During camp with tweets from everyone he will not tip his hand . This would allow him time to thoroughly evaluate the competition, and then get the starter reps with the starters (plus we have had a lot of reps in camp because of the two fields).
  16. Agreed solid night from TT. Happy to have him start. I was worried by the hit on the read option but I don't think even that was too bad after I watched the replays. If he takes one of those hits a series then I feel confident he'll play the whole season. He uses his feet very well to evade defenders, and I really like how on early downs he is able to ensure with his feet that the offense gets positive yards.
  17. Why would there be a deadline to name your starters? That doesn't make sense to me.
  18. Anyone pay attention to Tarpley. I didn't see anything glaring, but our run D wasn't as good during their TD drive. I'm hoping he can step up and be able to take some snaps for Brown and Bradham.
  19. The way weve been catching injuries I would imagine its somewhat relevant
  20. So no team movies next week? The guys are gonna be bummed out. But seriously terrible
  21. I think youre here two weeks too earlier. He'll get his reps in PS week 4, and that'll be his chance to prove if he can be 3rd QB
  22. Yeah the 2 wasted opportunities worry me a little too. But being in the red zone twice in 3 tries (not counting the final drive) isn't too bad.
