  1. Had to dunk in the take that unsigned Daryl Williams was as good or better than Saffold. You got lost in your Jason peters stuff. I’m here to laugh at your Daryl Williams takes. You say now he wasn’t offering much last year. But that’s not the tune you’ve been singing all off-season. “If he (Saffold) is an upgrade (to Daryl Williams)…”. 😂. That take is gold it was June and he was unsigned (still is).
  2. I trust Quessenberry a lot more than I did any backups last year. Dude was a starter and VERY good run blocker last year. Yeah he gave up sacks but tannehill is terrible at eluding pressures (saw a site where he had more sacks than pressures, not sure how that happens). So I feel better with Quessenberry at any position other than C than I did with last years backups. Don’t think its particularly close between this year and last year either.
  3. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 now you don’t think Daryl Williams offered much? Do you still think he offers as much or more than Saffold? What a terrible take that was for June.
  4. Agree with the points about getting the 1's working together. Isnt Kromer sorta known for rotating players more than other coaches though? Maybe they are taking the opportunity to do that at the start of camp cause of the inuries.
  5. Some of what they would report on would go away but I think there would be a new avenue for them to report on if credentialed. Lose formations and who’s getting starting reps. Gain press conference questions and locker room access in season to ask Xs and Os questions of the players. See the game plan develop over the week and then be able to use that to explain what was happening in the game. That all sounds great to me. I don’t think I am seeing them post anything that what is on team website. What they do that credentialed media can’t is say who’s getting first team reps. Thad thinks this is why he can’t get people to listen to him. But it’s really cause he doesn’t know football. I think cover 1 would be great as credentialed media. The other guy from QB breakdowns was Nate geary. Yea still WGR to my knowledge but I mostly get him talking to Bruce Nolan on the food for thought pod. Bruce is def worth a listen and those film breakdowns of josh growing were awesome.
  6. I thought he was a pretty good blocker. He was pretty important to our run game last year. That and he plays like all the ST snaps. But I see your point if it’s we’re gonna run zone so he less important than when we ran gap blocking at the end of last year
  7. Lol topic should be bills sign Jordan again 😂. I agree though good for bottom of our roster move. I think griffin won’t make PS with benford Mccloud Tim Harris and Jordan miller around. Considering wild goose and even mccloud getting picked up last year, I have a good bit of confidence in the CB depth players.
  8. ? You got the right player? ND and NC state for mccloud.
  9. So you didn’t look at his contract? That would tell you why it’s an overreaction to say he’s gonna be cut. I agree he losing ground to lil dirty and shakir. But he’s not getting cut unless he’s a net negative to the team. As for players IRd for soreness see hodgins and Stephenson. It’s a thing we sorta do with WR
  10. Check his contract. No reason to cut him. You IR him pretty easily. So many over reactions here during TC
  11. I dont know that there is offset language in Edmunds contract let alone the 5th year option. Please share if you see this but the link below says it wouldnt be. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/09/01/fifth-year-options-have-no-offset-obligation/ I agree McKenzie is creeping and seems like hes gonna have more of a share than I (and most peeps) thought. Considering they only save 100k from cutting crowder, i would expect them to stash him on IR rather than cutting him. That way he can still be available later in the year for only 100k more. Heck to do this move I would use Austin if he beats Crowder out cause of availability at the start of the season. I would cut Austin for 0 dead cap, tell him to go wait in the parking lot, then re-sign him for 50-100k more for his help. I think some roster spots are won before TC and you see it in the contracts. Now playing time is a different story where we agree McK looks to be coming up.
  12. So you dont think hes a roster lock? I think his cap numbers indicate he is if hes not traded. I keep comparing Crowder to Cole and its interesting to me that Crowder has ~4.6 k snaps in the 7 years before joining and cole only had 3.2k snaps in 7 years. really strange how dallas didnt use cole. also shows that crowder has been playing a ton up to this point relative to a guy hes coming in for.
  13. I dont really take the point about Saffold. Games with < 95% snap are SEA close win, NYJ loss, Jax rout, Kan rout, NWE loss (89% snaps), Jax rout, Mia rout. Thats 4 routs, 1 toss up in week 2 and 2 losses (one being close). He played complete games against all divisional opponents besides Jags and in 4/6 1 score games he saw the field for (both 1 score games he left the field for were in the first quarter of the season). Lastly, the titans as an org will not get the benefit of the doubt from me when it comes to managing injuries as they ran henry to dust last year. no savings to be had from cutting Edmunds. his contract is guranteed this year and since it ends this year we dont save any money next year by cutting him. so would need to trade him.
  14. not going through the whole thread (cause omg another Edmunds thread) but you know he has a better missed tackle % than Milano? Impact plays are fine to criticize but he improved his missed tackle % last year.
  15. He also has more production on the outside than most other number 1s like Kupp and Adams. That he hasn’t used free releases in the slot to get easier yards makes him that much more impressive to me
  16. Don’t worry about that IF. OJ has demonstrated an ability to block more than he has demonstrated being a downfield threat as a pass catcher. From reports I believe Knox lines up out wide when they are both on the same side of the field.
  17. I see what you mean now with Doyle. It was a really strange end without any TEs besides Knox. Like I said I agree with your other points. I think I’m most excited cause we can be more multiple this year with Howard.
  18. I agree with your other points but this confused me. Particularly the 12 personnel comment. Offense seemed rough til the end of the season and we weren’t dressing more than 1 TE (which itself Is crazy) at the end of the season. Are you basically just saying we used Gilliam in the offense more? That feels the only way we could be in 12 or 21 (depending what you label him as). Do you have some splits to show? Yeah agree. I’m not gonna advocate for him but get the upside with him.
  19. He did take one back against Miami in 2020. But as others have mentioned it’s everything before he secures the ball that’s the problem. If he fixes all that (big IF) I’m fine with him I was wondering by same thing. I agree with @John from Riverside let them run. We’re gonna run 70%+ nickel cause we usually run 90%+ nickel. We have been decent against the run except for the super big runs. I think we get to more 4-3 (still not that much though) but it takes time as Bernard has to show he can handle the responsibility. Milano took a while to become a starter over Humber. But I get your excitement for Bernard.
  20. I have been concerned just cause he’s so raw. He needs all the reps he can get. If he’s good for TC I’ll be fine. I honestly think Quessenberry can give more consistent play than Brown did last season. Just that Quessenberry is a bit long in the tooth (despite little tread) and Brown has much more upside.
  21. i think its something he did in years past when asked what QB/coach combo would be the best tag team wrestling combo. I think its clearly McD with his wrestling background (and also above average athleticism for coaches) combined with the most physical imposing QB. So yeah its dumb but funny in my head to think of Josh and McD body slamming other coaches.
  22. Agree it’s for these reasons but who would want that. Both players and teams like the inactives. Players get to stay on a team when slightly banged up. Teams don’t lose control of a back up player. It sucks for healthy scratches but deep down they would rather keep their roster spot than be cut.
  23. I agree we wouldn’t go as far with Herbert and they would go further with Allen. BUT we def still make the playoffs with Herbert.
  24. Look at us fret about if Gabe Davis can be a number 2. I would be super nervous to have to rely on Lazard as number 1. Davis has had more yards every year than lazards best year (last). I get that he’ll get targets (so not a bad fantasy play) but I would expect his efficiency to go down without adams. I think rogers is a game manager at this point of his career and he’s the best at it in the league. That’s why his ints are so low and why he has had trouble in the post season as of late. GB will be good cause of a good defense and run game (and terrible division). But I don’t think rogers is as scary allen at this point.
  25. Cover 1 had a lot of good stuff about nearest defender and why it’s flawed. I think they had an example of Milano missing a coverage resulting in edmunds being closest in coverage. I think the end of the TB game also fits into this category. Edmunds by being in the middle of the field is closest defender but it was someone else blown coverage. Overall the coverage stats outside of man coverage are pretty difficult to parse.
