Strong winds forecasted for Bills v Birds
Mojo44 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Conventional wisdom has it that a sloppy field always favors the receivers. This has always made some sense to me as the receivers know their routes and know when they’re making their cuts. However, I don’t know that this is such a great advantage for the bills or not -
Offensive line play is a key to any game anytime. The bills offensive line has been playing pretty well all season. Not the biggest concern for me.There are always several keys to a game.To me the biggest key is the continued progress of Josh. He needs to build on a good game from last week. Specifically, he needs to play well all 4 quarters and start hitting the occasional bomb. I think our defense is going to do just fine against the Eagles.

Just a bit before my time. Started paying attention in the mid 60s just before they got Murphy. That’s when they had Manny Leaks at center. -

Played at Saint Bonaventure I believe? I also certainly remember the amazing Bob Lanier. I think it was his freshman year they were heading for the final four and maybe a national championship then he blew out his knee in the tournament. The little three was something back then. They had the two best freshman in the country. -

Love the Calvin Murphy reference. I grew up in Niagara Falls in the 60’s and was a big NU fan when he was there. Saw him in person several times. He scored 68 points in a game against Syracuse. He was 5’9” at most. Ounce for ounce and pound for pound he is the greatest college basketball player of all time. -
Does Beasley’s TD tamp down his growing frustration?

It looked that way only because the ball was in the air at the time. The safety saw that and started heading towards Duke. That made Beasley look more open than he was. -

When is Allen going to have "that game", and do you care?

Josh has a few bad habits that he needs to work on. But, he has one outstanding habit already. He wins games! The only game we lost was when he was not on the field. -

I agree. I actually think he’s one of the top color commentators. He is entertaining way better than booger. And ...... there’s another fumble. And .......There is another touchdown. Damn! I really don’t care who wins although I do seem to get pleasure from Dallas losing. All I want is an entertaining and close game for the rest of the night while I drink some scotch. -

Flacco could give Brady a run for his money. -
It wasn’t me. But I wish I would have thought of it at the time.

I was in the clinical psychology PhD program at Memphis State University, now the University of Memphis, between 1976 and 1980. Went to Graceland many times when people came to visit. Actually got a little tired of it. However, this does give me yet another opportunity to share this little story: I was doing a clinical rotation on the spinal cord injury unit of Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. While I was there, the word spread around the hospital like a wildfire that Elvis was brought there from his home and pronounced dead. So, I was actually in the building when Elvis left the building.

Doesn’t qualify as a genius to me. He has had a couple nice years. To become a genius you need a pedigree over a long period of time. Just my opinion. He’s off to a nice start. That’s it.

It is all good. Maybe I’m not sure what your point is. All I was saying was that there is not a lot of evidence to make what I think your point was. I didn’t think you were trying to change my beliefs. One thing for certain. I don’t anoint McVay as some guru or genius in the least as some posters seem too. He hasn’t done anything yet.

This is a very nice cherry pick now show us about 20 to 40 similar examples of this and your point is made.To me there is no evidence of a discernible trend where this is actually the case and works with great frequency. I believe it is quite rare, actually. Otherwise, I believe that the best way to build a team is through the draft.
