We lost that game for a lot more reasons than not having a big receiver at the end. However, in three of the four losses we were in the red zone and, if my memory serves me correctly, twice had goal to go, when a TD would win or tie the game in the 4th quarter So, all other things being equal, I would love a big sure handed receiver for those situations. Not sure he is on the team right now or not.

The three primary goals vs the *Patriots
Mojo44 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The game was far from meaningless! The notion that the coaches accepted the wild-card slot without any thought of maybe winning the division is a loser’s mentality and I doubt that was the case. And to suggest that the bills played a vanilla game because they did not want to show their hand in the playoffs makes no sense. Hello! This is the 15th out of 16 regular season games. We are not going to suddenly develop a new identity. We are not going to fool anybody with new stuff. Now it just comes down to execution.I don’t buy it. The goal was to win. And it meant a lot for more than one reason to win. -
For all you know he might be the perfect process guy. Precisely! About his attitude! Your negative assertion about him was entirely unsupported. That stuff could have come from anywhere. Make a case for it being at least reasonably true when you say something like that. For all you know he might be the perfect process guy.

Murphy and Star will be jettisoned at the earliest opportunity, anyway. Shaq could be retained reasonably if the team wants to. Jordan P would be a luxury signing and, unnecessary IMO if the got Donald. The money is there for Donald to do this comfortably. It doesn’t break the bank in the least. For one first round pick I would be on board.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Patriots Win Again
Mojo44 replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We all want to see an offensive explosion even more than every once in a while. But, you seem to be so laser focused on one too, at most two trees that you are entirely missing the forest. Your take has no sense of context and recent history.Everything is actually trending up for this team. That even includes the offense if you compare the beginning of the year to now for most games. Josh, in particular, is trending up in a big way. He needs more maturity and more weapons. You’re damn right I’m happy with 10 and very likely 11 wins. Way too much is being said about the schedule. That criticism is overrated. All things considered, this season has been successful already. A win in the playoffs would make it particularly successful. But even a loss doesn’t take away from the immense progress made. Sorry, I just find your takes off the mark and, in particular, unduly negative -
Yesterday proved another thing we need a hammer back

A.J. Dillon! -
Not only is this post pompous , it’s just a bad take. The only statistic that matters is wins. Also, Allen is the best fourth-quarter quarterback in the league this year. MIssed it badly!

Adam Schein goes threw a table on CBS for Bills Mafia!
Mojo44 replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I live in the Syracuse area and I’m sure some other posters are aware of this. Adam graduated from Newhouse at Syracuse University. His first job was a sports talk show at a local Syracuse station which I listened to on a regular basis. To me it was clear even then that he was probably going on to bigger things . But, my point is, on the local show and since then he has always been very complementary and gracious about upstate New York. This he has done, in my opinion, in a genuine manner. So his take on the bills isn’t surprising to me -
Moving forward: We need to do something about Gore
Mojo44 replied to Brianmoorman4jesus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don’t agree. Clearly Yeldon has done nothing to instill a drop of confidence in the coaches. If so he would have seen the field weeks ago! If Gore is “done” then Yeldon never got put in the oven. Before the season is done I wouldn’t be surprised if Gore makes an important contribution. -

Mojo44 replied to Brianmoorman4jesus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Singleterry goes down, who do you want to replace him as the number one running back? I know who I want, Gore. It would not be a great situation but he would be the best option. Consequently he needs to be active and, yes, he needs touches. He is still getting some tough yards on a lot of his carries. The OP overstates the case. -
Heck yeah!

I agree in principle. However, BPA comes into play. If, by far, the best player available when they draft in the first round is a pass rushing defensive end you got to take him

Once in a blue moon, booger makes a good point. You have to wonder how much the loss of Frank Reich has hurt the Eagles

Wk 14 Postgame Thread Bills lose to Ravens 24-17
Mojo44 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And he’s done it with a mediocre supporting cast! It’s not as simple as you think. If you can’t see the indicators from what he has done already regardless of this overstated strength of schedule stuff then you are just missing it IMO. But, the question of how good he will ultimately be has not been finally answered. So, let’s wait and see what happens. -

You’re asking the wrong question. All trees, no forest. The more relevant question is : What part of the season made you think Allen has the potential to be an elite quarterback? Then the answer is obvious if you have been watching all of the games -
I wasn’t necessarily talking about this year. On the other hand, the offense has looked pretty good the last three games. I’m not giving up on it just because of a poor game today. Are you? To me that is not a rational position but just reacting to the negative emotions after a loss.

Our defense made their offense look pedestrian. No one else has been able to do that. When our offense catches up, we will be very tough to beat. I’m not happy about the loss but I’m not at all discouraged about the season. It would take an epic collapse to not get a wildcard
