  1. The Bills Defense is so good, we don't need to worry about Josh's development..... Or so I thought.....
  2. The Offense needs to play with a purpose. They don't. The Bills need to see what they have in Josh Allen & play with purpose to score 30 points. They don't, were down and when they needed a stop didn't get it and then looked completely lost, which is pretty much what I expected seeing McClappy's offensive coaching philosophy.
  3. The Bills Defense is good, not great and this continual play it close to the vest and between the 20's eventually is exposed. And vs. a 3-4 team at home. Lot's of lessons learned and hope the Coaching Staff has some answers. Luckily the next 4 games are all very winnable.
  4. Well at least we get to see Josh throw the ball..... As I keep saying about the D..... Good, but can't expect 17-13 every week. First half again that game plan.
  5. And I want to know whether Allen really is the 29th best QB in the NFL. I want him top 10 and this is what drives me crazy is that thew Bills offensive philosophy is that he is #29 so design an offense for that. You don't use the 7th draft pick to select the 29th best QB!!!!! BTW I think he is top 10.
  6. Yep another poster thinking 14-10 wins is the way to go..... Thankfully I can PVR games & channel surf, because while they are winning, the games are not particularly fun to watch. Ughhhhhh.
  7. How is it pass first, when the team never throws for 300? The Bills are 21st in the league passing..... They have played the #1, 8, 14, 28, 30 & 32 Defenses...... Philadelphia is 18th. Should have piled up the points & yards in 3 of them.
  8. I want to see growth & 4 quarters of football. The Bills have beaten teams with a combined record of 7 wins - 27 Losses......
  9. Seven weeks in & 29 QB's have thrown for 300..... https://www.footballdb.com/stats/300-yard-passing.html Bills haven't since needing OT December 24th 2016.......
  10. No this is a coaching issue..... I blame the schemes & coaching 75%, JA 25%...... Sorry my imaginary 300 yard threshold is my measuring point and can't believe the Bills have gone 40 games. 29!!!!! QB's have done it already this year.......
  11. I am an Allen fan because he is a Bill & I want him to succeed. And yes he has been very good in the 4th & again IO blame the first 3 on the Bills game plan and their "The team is built on Defense" attitude. I'm looking at the QB's you've noted and they were given the keys to succeed. Peyton they hung their hat on, Brady was a 6th round pick, Brees was selected 32nd. Favre 33rd...... As the #7 pick the Bills need to see what he can do for 4 quarters, not just the Fourth!!!!!
  12. It's not a good game plan long-term and that is the concern. The idea of "keeping the game close & we can turn it on when we have to" is certainly not what the top teams in the NFL play for.
  13. The Bills realize they need points in the 4th, vs. the other three quarters where they'd be happy if it was 0-0...... Sorry I'm down on how they run the Offense.
  14. Or as I said I blame it on McD's play the game between the 20's and rely on the Defense & Daboll's weak play calling.......
  15. It's a fact..... He was too a 6th round pick thrust into the starting roll and did win a SB. The 300 yard game in the regular season was an OT win (as was the Raider's game). Remember he was not the 7th pick in the draft, and NE had no real idea what they had.
  16. And 5 of the 6 were losses, which meant he did not play well. The only win was by 10 over Buffalo, where he threw for 183 in December and they were up 17 in the fourth until a late TD with a minute to go. Again further points out that if he did play better those other 5 games, they may have won.....
  17. In another thread I responded to grading Daboll and I continue to ask why in the fourth the Bills can look so good (and these are all one score games), but seem to bog down the first three. They've scored 53 points in the 4th (not including the on-side kick vs. Miami) with Allen, so are averaging 10.6 points & have scored 61 points in the first 3 quarters or 12.2 so to me that is the most interesting stat. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/4th-quarter-points-per-game How about playing every quarter like it is the fourth????
  18. Yup, It's all on Allen as every QB in the NFL finds the open receiver every time except Josh. No one has ever missed a deep ball either and only Allen throws Ints...... Then come the 4th quarter Allen finally follows Daboll's plan and Daboll engineers all those points. Again the question is how the Bills in close games (seem to score in the 4th when needed), but not so much in 1-3...... They've scored 53 points in the 4th (not including the on-side kick vs. Miami) with Allen, so are averaging 10.6 & have scored 61 points in the first 3 quarters or 12.2 so to me that is the most interesting stat. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/4th-quarter-points-per-game Sheez.....
  19. I want to believe in Allen & think he has the ability. The offensive schemes & play calling unfortunately still lacking in my view. What we have seen is when the game is on the line in the 4th, he has produced, which tells me the coaching for the majority of the game holds him back.
  20. Someone wrote it, so must be correct..... Right???? Wrong.... https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nwe/2001.htm Threw for over 300 in his 3rd start. By 2002 (one year under his belt) had 3 300 yard game, 28 TD's & 3800 yards passing..... And the Pats were only 9-7..... So when you post something, check the stats first. Also a different game in 2001/02 vs. 2019 BTW Wrong on Brees too...../
  21. How come Kyler Murray can throw for 300 in his first NFL start, but excuses abound for this Offense? How have the Bills gone 40+ games without a 300 yard game (yes a #, but a standard often sited)?
  22. Again missing the point as many here are as they talk about the Defense and "baby" steps. The Bills offense has been a dumpster fire since 2015 & always some excuse. Happy to see some improvement, but want to see more. Take a look at 2015 & who was at the bottom & they seemed to address it..... Look at 2016/17/18 and again we see teams that have turned it around. Is it too much to want the Bills to do the same. Always an excuse.
  23. Yes I want offense & 300 yard passing games. That is what entertains me. Yes & winning doesn't hurt too. Will say it over and over that I have no interest in a 14-7 defensive struggle, which should be the exception not the rule. Seen way too many of those (and blow-outs) as a Bills fan. Just once I'd like a 35-31 game. Looking at this years stats confirms the Bills are better but pretty much in the lower third and have had an easy schedule. What's sad is just how bad the Passing line has been since 2015. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?seasonType=REG&offensiveStatisticCategory=TEAM_PASSING&d-447263-n=1&d-447263-o=2&d-447263-p=1&d-447263-s=TOTAL_POINTS_GAME_AVG&tabSeq=2&season=2019&role=TM&Submit=Go&archive=false&conference=null&defensiveStatisticCategory=null&qualified=false And to think they are 5-1 and had to come back & win in the fourth in 4 of 5 games. The Bills need to assert themselves and bury these bottom feeders and be life & death in the fourth. Yes and I will keep banging the drum........
  24. Again this is not an elite defense. It is a good one, but not Elite.... Stop it. It is pretty obvious that having one of the worst offenses year after year has resulted in such low expectations.
  25. And thus the question as to why they can't play similarly for 4 quarters & score points. Again the defense is good and I'd claim far from great. But others will tell you how great the defense is and the O needs only to make no mistakes & score 14-20 points/game. Miami shredded them.
