Again he'll learn more throwing for 300 then 175 and check downs. Like so many fans, you probably have no idea what a 300 yard passing game looks like as it has been over 2 seasons (and took overtime to get there)......

14-0 & then they let the defense take over..... Same story week after week. Scoring points is anathema when it comes to the Bills. Anything over 21 is a result of the defense or will be a mistake. Exciting offensive football is not their style.

He has strong hands and from what I saw in the preseason & CFL, there is no juggling, good body position and control & can take a hit. No reason he can't do well.

This is the Bills MO & a lot of fans fall for it. 19 years of a loser mentality that no one can make a mistake. Would have neutered Favre, Rodgers, Elway, Brees, Mahomes, Watson & others with this coaching staff. Heck I was awfully proud of the coaching staff for having not wasted a timeout the first half. May have been a first!!!!?

Absolutely right. There is separation and then there is good coaching to create those seams. Not seeing those from Daboll. Screens seldom called & not well executed when they are. Good on shovel passes, and maybe need more like that (or swing passes). The knock on Duke is he isn't fast, but he is a big target and sure handed. The TD pass was a great call I saw as soon as he lined up. Should be used more often.

Yes the positives.... 1. A Win & 4-1 2. Allen is progressing (& yes I don't get caught up in college & drafts. All I want is for a top 7 pick to be a great player). 18 years without a legitimate QB (top half of the league) is a long time. 3. Defense is very good 4. Wanted to see the #1 receiver in the CFL in 2018 get a shot and produce, which he did. 5. Really like Brown too

I like to be entertained, so yes I want 28+ points from the Offense on a regular basis. The Bills have beaten 0-4 Jets, 0-5 Bengals & two win teams NYG & Tennessee. I'm happy with the record, just not a fan that is satisfied with the offense & lack of scoring.

Good review.... A few observations of my own. 1. I am a believer in this D, but can not play for 17-13 games, week after week. Bills got away with an obvious facemask that resulted in a missed fg. A TD called back too and they got other breaks, no if ands or buts. Tennessee receivers had drops too, reminiscent of Bills that I often complain needing to make that tough catch. At least 2-3 3rd & 3-5's where the receiver dropped a ball (albeit good D). 2. The int was on Yeldon, as JA is rolling that direction under pressure and he is running that way. You don't just stop. The slow motion replay posted conclusive imo. 3. Separation by receivers is still an issue. 4. Duke is a big body, which is exactly what is needed. The TD was so open and an easy play that should be there multiple times a game. Yes only 4 catches, but knew they were throwing to him and he was going to catch it. 5. Sorry but this team needs to score more and play calling still suspect. Can't take penalties on 3rd & 2 and create 3rd & 7. Never seems to be a call those yardages to make a first down. Usually JA needs to break containment or improvise. 6. Again 3rd quarter malaise.

This offence still is terrible. With a good running attack & good QB'ing they need have tp start scoring more. Daboll is still not winning the coaching battle.

Upset that he's catching everything thrown his way? Is he too big a target and a good safety valve? Yes fans wanted to see him play as he is from the looks of it, the second best receiver on the Bills.....

Again Rob Johnson was PATHETIC that game and tired of the Chuck Dickerson contingent who claims "He walked off the field a winner". Johnson was the sole reason Tennessee was in the game. After that first half, there would not have been a single HC in football who wouldn't have put in the QB who started the first 15 games of the season to start that second half. RW was a senile old coot by then & made the decision to start him that game. Can't convince me otherwise. Anyone defending Rob Johnson (and we saw his body of work afterwards too) are probably on here now rationalizing how Barkley gives the Bills the best chance to win.....??

That pretty much sums up some Bills fans. And how could you not include Rob Johnson, who's first half vs. Tennessee may have been the worst half in history for the Bills & still some people still debate that was the right decision......

That's what I said. Allen was not good. Daboll didn't help him and just a bad day (just like Brady). Can you imagine Allen throwing an Int at the goal line, as Brady did (& Barkley appeared to) and the response then? How about some screens or shovel passes too.

Big Ben - 27-47 1 Int, 3 total points Miami - 18-39, 4 Ints Shutout NYJ - 12-22, 98 yards, 1 int, 0 points..... Allen made bad mistakes, threw some terrible passes too and looked like little separation and we know Zay can't adjust or fight for a ball (i.e. two ints). Maybe their defense is pretty good?

It was tongue in cheek. Barkley had 4 possessions & produced 0 points...... He's a good backup.

I shudder to think that Allen would be on the next bus out of Buffalo. I already see 12 pages debating that Barkley gives the Bills the best chance to win.

Has there been a Superbowl WInning or Losing team who did not throw for 300 yards in the regular season in the last 20 years. Yes just a #, but a pretty simple yardstick that I use. The Bills QB & Offensive situation has been so woeful that 250 yards is otherworldly. There are probably 15 QB's who when they throw for under 250 most think they had a bad game (or had a very easy blowout win)...... And trust me I'm a big fan of Allen and want to see him throw for big #'s. Sorry if I like an offense capable of 30+ points & 300+ passing yards.

Again you just don't get it. If he didn't throw for 300 they don't have a chance..... Yes the Bills are 3-0, however over the 36 games they are 18-18...... Don't you think a 300 yard game may have won some for them (or a few games may have been an easier win)?

But he threw for 300+ yards in his first game. Buffalo has gone 36 games (and it took OT), since they did that!!!!!??
